Hello! I'm 36 and TTC no. 2. This is cycle 6 but I only weaned from breastfeeding a couple of weeks ago so feeling cautiously optimistic as I think it was wreaking havoc with my hormones. Know it may well take a few months for hormones to regulate but remain hopeful!

Premom has me down as 1dpo. Anyone want to keep me company during what I suspect will be a painfully slow two weeks?! DTD 6 times in the last 8 days so i don't think I could've given it anymore if I'd tried - especially with a 2yo to look after! 😴

Pretty sure I'm out, I'm having brown spotting--which I always get before AF. I am extremely frustrated. Ordered ovulation sticks earlier, feck doing another month of not tracking 😂 looking ahead at next cycle either Il get the best or worst news Christmas morning 🙈😂

@secondtimelucky87 Aw I get you. My DH still has a lot of habits which are bad for conception (alcohol, activity levels, phone in pocket) but I feel like I'm being unfair if I bring it up more than once! Hope you're all keeping well ❤️

I'm 9dpo today, holding my breath for.tomorrow as I always have a dip/drop at 10dpo. All my usual AF symptoms minus sore boobs have gone today, so who knows. Really hoping this cycle is the one 🤞

@Daniki How are you getting along, lovely?

Yeah mine is still having a couple of small glasses of wine a night with food but I think from a fertility perspective that's still not great. If the repeat analysis in Feb is still bad I'll feel less guilty for nagging! He's got a bag now to avoid phone in pocket and spending more time in gym.

Keeping everything crossed this is both of your month ladies! If not I definitely recommend pushing for the proper SA to be done as it's so worth ruling that out as a factor! Xx

Hey ladies! So I think I'm 10dpo today, going by my app! I didn't track so not sure! Tested this morn tho, negative. Got my progesterone results back and they're 38.5, not much improvement from last cycle so doc has recommends follicle scanning and trigger shot as next option. We've decided to try one more cycle of letrozole and then move on, don't really want the stress leading up to Christmas! Xx

Hi ladies!

Not much to report here tbh! Not been tracking either which tbh has actually been quite nice. I'm predicted to be 3dpo which is probably about right. OH as good as infertile atm so not holding out any hope. Just hoping when sperm analysis repeated in 3 months things have improved! I do keep seeing him with his phone in his pocket which, on top of working from home, isn't great! (Lots of sitting down is bad for sperm). But I also don't want to nag as I know he's trying his best. Just trying to focus on how lucky I am to have my lovely daughter and hopefully one day we can give her a little sibling too.

Xx

@Daniki Hello! Yeah I'm fine thanks. 3dpo here, so pretty much business as usual. Funnily enough I haven't had any cramps since ovulation which tbh has been nice for once 😂 Normally I'm super bloaty and crampy for the few days after. I've added vitamin b complex and iron to my supplements this cycle so maybe they're helping!

Daniki · 15/11/2023 18:02

Hey ladies, iv been quiet on here how are you all? No idea what dpo I am as I didn't track this month! Going by my apps I'm 4dpo! Still dtd every second night to cover all bases. Feeling more relaxed this cycle have tried not to focus or think much about it, hence the quietness on here!

@etaketak1991 that is similar to the pains I'm having, actually still having the twinges now but it's both sides now--not at the same time! 🤷‍♀️

etaketak1991 · 13/11/2023 16:54

@secondtimelucky87 Yeah I know what you mean! Mine are more deep pelvic pains around my tailbone. Sorry to hear it's bad pain this month, mine was pretty nasty too! Thank god for hot water bottles.

@Blueberry1990 Same! This week is long but fine, next week I start getting crazy 🤪

Blueberry1990 · 13/11/2023 08:54

I'm 1DPO now the 2 week wait begins 🙏

secondtimelucky87 · 12/11/2023 21:32

Hi ladies! Not much to report here. I've not been taking my temps or doing any ovulation sticks this cycle as just wanted to have a bit of a chilled month. Did use the CBFM though and have DTD twice this fertile period including peak day. Tomorrow is predicted ovulation day. Speaking of ovulation pain, massive TMI but do you guys ever get shooting bum pains? I usually get them on my period but got today (predicted ovulation day tomorrow). Completely stopped me in my tracks and made me feel a bit dizzy this morning it was so painful! No idea if related to ovulation though.

Not holding out much hope for this month but tbh it has been nice to take a break from the crazy tracking after the news we got. Never know though so will see.

All the baby dust to you both! Xx ✨️💛

@etaketak1991 wonder was mine ovulation pain then, it was on the right side! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 xx

etaketak1991 · 12/11/2023 11:33

@Daniki Lots of bloat and painful lower back for me! I wonder if it was something I ate as well, it's not usually so painful 😂 Fingers crossed for everyone 🤞🤞🤞

Daniki · 12/11/2023 11:18

@etaketak1991 nice! I think my ovulation day was yest or today, didn't track but had EWCM on Friday and again a bit today so dtd thurs fri and will tonight again and every 2nd night for the next week anyway 😂 how does your cramps feel and where abouts? I had bad lower back twinges yest and today and wondering was it ovulation! Felt almost like sciatica! X

etaketak1991 · 12/11/2023 07:48

Morning all! I likely got my peak yesterday and had super painful ovulation cramps last night so looking at the TWW soon! SMEP is going so far so good, just got to persuade/seduce DH today and tomorrow 😂

Anyone else 1dpo? Keep me company!
Daniki · 10/11/2023 07:51

Hey ladies! Challenging time here also with toddler he is just so cranky all the time and not sleeping great, I am just exhausted 😂 on cd 12 now, no tracking so no idea when Il ovulate but we're dtd every second night to cover all bases! I mentioned the private sperm analysis test to DH actually so we might look into that!

etaketak1991 · 10/11/2023 07:50

@secondtimelucky87 That sounds really tough. It's non stop, isn't it? So glad to hear you've got someone who's been through it to talk to!

Yes, we've got the male test! Going to wait to see if this cycle is successful or not, then give it a go as we're then hitting 6 months trying. As we're both under 35, we don't qualify for GP help until we've been going a year. Can't even lie as the GP will have record of taking IUD came out 😂 We have private health insurance via our employer so that might be worth investigating before then.

Fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞 Theres still a chance! DH doesn't know it but I'm giving SMEP a.go this month to see if it makes any difference 😂 so far so good!

secondtimelucky87 · 10/11/2023 07:33

etaketak1991 · 09/11/2023 17:51

@Daniki Yikes, that sounds like a long period!! I used to have 8 day periods when I was on the coil and they SUCKED. Good luck 🤞🤞 I chickened out and have been tracking again this month haha.

@secondtimelucky87 How are you doing, lovely?

I got a 0.14 on my LH tests today (normally they're 0.0something) so getting close 🤞

Hello! I've been up and down tbh. Mostly OK but have had random episodes of bursting into tears. Not helped I think by toddler being very challenging atm! As it's just been work, nursery pick up and then 4 hours of on and off tantrums until bedtime. I'm tired 🤣

Been chatting a lot to my best friend who had IVF the first time and then conceived naturally the second time. They had male factor infertility issues too so that's been helpful. We're seeing them this weekend so the men folk can chat about it. Did you end up ordering the home testing kit?

You could also both try getting GP to refer for analysis. Waiting lists might be less ridiculous where you guys are! Worth a try 😊

Got my peak on CBFM today so will try over the next few days. Know the odds are unlikely but only takes one eh?!

@etaketak1991 @secondtimelucky87 hey ladies! Sorry to hear about your DH results, I was watching Lucy Watsons fertility video earlier and she mentioned coQ10 200mg 3xday is supposed to help but as you said can take 3-6 months. I was in tk my husband about booking this privately aswell just to see!

@etaketak1991 the pay progession denial is shit! 😩 hopefully the anger helps you conceive again! 🙌

Just entering fertile week,I'm on CD9 and my AF only finished last night 🤔 not tracking this month, (it will drive me mad 😂) going to dtd every 2nd night and hope for the best!

Thanks lovely. He's on Wellman Conception then extra Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Magnesium. I'll check how much CoQ10 is in the Wellman. Poor guy is already rattling from all the tablets he's taking! 🤣

Definitely recommend the private sperm analysis tbh. It's a lot (was £200 here in London) but we could've just kept going for ages without knowing what the issue was and time already not on our side!

I hope the not tracking helps. I'm sure there's something in the theory of not being too stressed that helps! 🤗

etaketak1991 · 07/11/2023 19:16

@secondtimelucky87 Sounds positive, really hope it helps things for you both 🤞 You've convinced me, I've just ordered the easy@home one off Amazon! Hoping that if the problem is DH's swimmers, it'll flag up something that we can get further investigated as we won't be eligible to even be considered for another 6 months on the GP.

Amen to that, I'm on 0.6 but feels no different to full time 😂 I can't even change jobs as you need to be at a job for a year in order to get enhanced mat leave! So frustrating.

@Daniki , how's it going for you? Nearing fertile week too?

secondtimelucky87 · 07/11/2023 18:50

Yeah I won't lie - it's hard not to feel a bit deflated. It's obviously a good thing we found out when we did so he can act on the advice given but still. 💔 Glad we didn't wait around for NHS referral as who knows how long we could have been waiting? It was expensive but money well spent, especially considering our ages. I'm hoping it'll have improved within 3 months. The specialist said in 60% of cases this is all it takes. Fingers crossed as I couldn't put myself through something like IVF.

Definitely look into the cheap sperm test. It's shocking how little awareness there is around male fertility and so many couples must not be aware!

So sorry to hear about the pay progression! Really feels like jumping through hoops sometimes doesn't it? I've been 'part time' since I went back from maternity but my workload feels no different to before - just less money!

OP posts:
etaketak1991 · 07/11/2023 17:29

@secondtimelucky87 Oh gosh, I'm sorry to hear that! At least now you've identified the problem, you can work on fixing it! Sounds like your DH is doing all the right things too 🤞 I'm tempted to get a cheap sperm count test now tbh.

I'm doing ok so far! Fertile week is just around the corner. Got denied pay progression at work which sucks, but last time that happened I conceived days after, I was so pissed off 😂 Maybe it'll help this time!

secondtimelucky87 · 07/11/2023 17:07

Hi ladies, sorry I missed your messages! Didn't get a notification and then when I tried to reply earlier the page kept crashing! Hope you're both doing OK 😊

In the end I persuaded my husband to just pay for private sperm analysis as the wait on NHS was ridiculous. Turns out both motility and count are very low. I'm absolutely gutted tbh. In fairness to him he's been right on it with booking consultation with specialist, getting lots of advice, tonnes of vitamins, eating really well and going hard at the gym. We're both just a bit worried as nine of us are spring chickens! The specialist said basically we can keep trying if we like but the odds of it happening are slim. 😢

So I don't know what we'll do. Apparently it can take 3 months for the effect of those lifestyle changes to be seen. I guess we'll maybe try on peak days of fertile period but in the knowledge that realistically no pregnancy is going to happen any time soon. On the bright side at least we know what the issue is and hopefully it'll happen at some point.

Any news your end? X
