Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

Lol @Bali200 That's great you got dtd one last time. Hopefully it pays off! Now for your tww! Hope you can keep busy during this time.

I am tracking via opk and bbt, and I'm on cd8 today, I thought I got a positive opk normally cd15 or so but I just checked my app and actually most of the days this year I had got my positive opk cd12 or 13. So (IF I ovulate this month with all of the spotting) should get a positive opk in 4 or 5 days x

@Ladyinpink1 we gave it another go, just in case although I was not feeling very sexy and DP felt like there was nothing left in the bank 🫣. We’ve honestly not been this ahem active in years haha.

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that. It’s an awful feeling like you don’t know what’s going on with your body, and especially after a mc we just want our cycles to return to normal quickly so we can try again. I was really disheartened last week seeing the spotting, but it seems like I’m still ovulating etc so don’t give up hope. Are you going to be tracking ovulation and if so then which methods? X

Bali200 · 26/09/2023 22:34

Ooh tww buddies @SnookyPook how exciting 😅 congrats on your peak, I’m glad you managed to get some alone time last night and can do it again tonight and tomorrow.

Oh gosh the SMEP makes me tired even just thinking about it 😂 how did you find it last cycle? Is that when you had the chemical pregnancy? You have convinced me to do it again tonight, apparently DP’s not too tired, it’s just me 😵‍💫 lol x

Ladyinpink1 · 26/09/2023 21:57

@Bali200 ha ha yes it is. Yay for ovulation day today! I think if you can be bothered again then another try won't hurt but if not, you have covered your bases, expecially if you fell pregnant from only one time last time!

I thought the mini period I had was over and then tonight, bleeding again! (Cd7) hoping it's only going to be spotting but it's anoying anyway, because I dont know whats going on..I suppose I need to be patient, it's only my first cycle since (think pretending to be patient will have to do 😄) x

@SnookyPook woohoo for another peak, that's great you will be in tww very soon then. Really hoping for good news on the thread soon 🙂
Yes we tried the smep roughly one cycle before my last pregnancy and it is pretty tiring, by the time ovulation day came around we had no motivation at all lol. So I think it's better to keep the efforts concentrated to those important days like you have. x

@Bali200 haha I also love the random congrats re sex. 😄 Sounds like you've given it a good shot! Personally if try again on ovulation day if possible but you've realistically got it covered and if you're not feeling great then maybe just take it easy!

Thanks @Ladyinpink1 - I've had my peak today! Hopefully ovulating tomorrow and then into the tww (we can be tww buddies Bali!!). Thankfully we did manage to dtd last night. Will do my best for tonight too and then tomorrow... last cycle we pretty much did SMEP bar a couple of days so feeling like we've barely attempted anything this cycle, but realistically we will be in with a good chance if can manage tonight and tomorrow as well as last night so .. 🤞🏻

How's everyone else doing?

Bali200 · 26/09/2023 20:57

Haha thanks @Ladyinpink1 it’s so funny how we all congratulate each other for having sex 😂 my opks have gone down really low today so yesterday definitely was my peak 😊 I really don’t know if either me or dp have it in us again to BD tonight…we did thursday, sunday and Monday, today is apparently ovulation day. What do you think? When we conceived my loss the only time we had sex that month was the day before ovulation so I don’t want to overdo it too much. I’ve had such a weird pain in my stomach and uterus since yesterday so I’m really not in the mood to BD tonight 🫣

How are you getting on? Are you still spotting? X

Ladyinpink1 · 25/09/2023 20:39

Lol @Bali200 Glad to hear legs were up! Aw your poor dh, glad he doesn't complain!
I don't use the opk comparison app so not sure about the different peaks but those look like great dark lines! Happy days!
I'm glad yours was resolved quite quickly too. Hopefully the last time we have to go through that x

@SnookyPook your " getting jiggy" comment made me laugh. When you have your dc in the house it can definitely be difficult, hope your pos opk comes soon! x

Super helpful thanks @moosey89. I actually did repeat progesterone test when I was 6 weeks pregnant just to monitor it. Ended up miscarrying two days later and my result came through that day showing my levels had dropped to 12. Clearly they should go up not down and I’m left wondering whether the PG dropped because miscarriage about to happen or whether miscarriage happened because of low PG :(

Bali200 · 25/09/2023 12:09

Thanks @SnookyPook you are quite right in that my peak has changed to today after doing another test 😌 do you think it’s normal to see those levels across two days? I’m such an opk newbie 😅 but from what I’ve read they’re meant to get higher, peak and then decrease? No cm yet either, I feel like my body is broken haha.

Got my fingers crossed for you that you get your peak today and your little one has a better night’s sleep tonight 🤞🏼 x

moosey89 · 25/09/2023 11:46

@Anotheranxiousone yeah it was - anything from 12-30 is a "maybe you ovulated, maybe you didn't"! Essentially 30 is the safe level that you 100% ovulated so if you're over that, even if only a tiny amount, you've got nothing to worry about 😊
Hormone levels are so personal it's hard for them to actually know what's going on, which is why there is such a large "maybe" range!

Anotheranxiousone · 25/09/2023 10:41

@moosey89 was that nmol? I got day 21 progesterone which showed 30.2nmol, 30 being minimum to indicate I ovulated apparently so I was only just over the line :/

SnookyPook · 25/09/2023 09:50

Morning all! Busy weekend so feeling slightly out of the loop. Still no peak opk here but I'm actually quite relieved as toddler has had a couple of restless nights culminating in no alone time for DH and I to get jiggy!! Just done an opk which is looking a bit higher so hoping tonight will be the night!! Haha.

@Bali200 I think it waits for another reading to be lower so it may well re-align your peak to today once it can detect it is the highest with a lower reading after if that makes sense... I. Any case, deffo try to dtd again today and tomorrow!

Hope everyone else is doing ok. X

Bali200 · 25/09/2023 09:27

@Ladyinpink1 hahaha yes legs were firmly in the air! I did feel sorry for dp as he was so tired from working 40 hours in 3 days, we would never normally have dtd but he was really excited about the positive opk, let’s just hope his swimmers weren’t too tired 🤣 I am a bit confused by my opks as the one this morning is ‘high’ but is showing a higher number than my ‘peak’ from yesterday, I’ll attach a pic below. Going to test opk a couple more times throughout the day to see what happens and BD tonight and tomorrow too.

Oh gosh that sounds awful, I’m so sorry that you had to go through that alone, it must have been so scary. But I’m glad it was relatively straightforward for you and that you didn’t need any medical intervention. I had surgical with local anaesthetic and like you I’m grateful that it seems to have worked ok and been resolved quickly, although I am concerned about Ashermans but I’m just a massive worrier and overthinker in general, I drive myself totally crazy 🫣 x

Ladyinpink1 · 24/09/2023 21:55

@Bali200 I'm glad you had a good time, hoping all the relaxation helps! And yay for your opk! Hurry up and get home Bali's dh!😄 don't forget legs up!

Yes maybe just this one then next period will be normal, mine came naturally but not in a very nice way, I was home alone and contracted like labour pains and passed the sac still in tact, it was a scary painful experience and I wasn't aware it could happen the way it did.

Although I know some ladies have had a horrible time with having it removed at the hospital with things not always being straightforward and taking alot longer which I really feel would be so upsetting when all you want is it all over with so I guess I should be grateful it was straightforward. I think It's all relative x

@Oxalis00 Yes so much to speculate. It's so frustrating trying to work out why it happened and what to change etc isn't it.

I know what you mean, I wonder too about egg quality, I have been taking a supplement (I'm taking that many now I think I would rattle if someone shook me 😆) coq10 it's meant to help egg quality. Have you heard of it?

Yes hopefully we conceiving easily and staying pregnant is in our very near future. And I hope so much it happens before the end of the year! x

Bali200 · 24/09/2023 21:03

@Ladyinpink1 fab thank you, I’ll pick some Omega and b6 up, might as well give it a whirl! I don’t know whether to stick with the pregnacare or do separate supplements tbh.

Yes I had a lovely holiday thank you 😊 we booked it last minute to get away and have a break after the mc to try to clear my head. We had a long haul hol during weeks 6-8 of my pregnancy that I didn’t enjoy because I felt so rubbish with nausea and I couldn’t cope with the heat so I took full advantage of the sun and cocktails this time ☀️🍹

I just wish it had fallen over my FW a bit better, BUT I got a peak on opks today 🙌🏼 patiently waiting for DP to hurry up home from work haha! Oh no, sorry to hear you’re not feeling too positive about this cycle, but you never know 🤞🏼✨ I also had a very light first period and spotting afterwards so maybe it’s a common thing first period after mc? Did you have surgical or medical management with your last loss? X

moosey89 · 24/09/2023 20:42

@Anotheranxiousone it was 14.5

Anotheranxiousone · 24/09/2023 20:23

Can I ask what your progesterone number was @moosey89?

Oxalis00 · 24/09/2023 19:34

It’s a bit of a mystery in there isn’t it… So much to speculate about! I don’t know whether having a miscarriage would change something with the womb lining, or responsiveness to hormones. Maybe our bodies have just become much more efficient?! Possibly there’s anaemia after MC blood loss making a difference, too. Well, let’s see how this cycle goes for us both! I’ve conceived pretty quickly before (within a couple of months, both times) so my worry is more about the quality of sperm+egg, and how it develops and how long I can hold onto it. But I’m almost 38 now, so we’ll see! Good luck to us both :)

Ladyinpink1 · 24/09/2023 17:02

Hi @Oxalis00 no, I don't think a light period indicates that I wouldn't be able to conceive, I conceived in May with a light cycle (2 days flow then 4 days light/spotting)
but now this cycle is my first since my miscarriage in August, it seems it was only a 2.5 to 3 day period, so I feel like my body isn't back to normal (whatever normal is for me now ) and so my chances of conceiving are slim this cycle because my period has been so short... if all of that makes sense?

I am "older" now too, so you have company 😊 I'm 35 but like to pretend I'm 28 when asked x

OP posts:
Oxalis00 · 24/09/2023 16:22

@Ladyinpink1 My periods have been much lighter and shorter since my MC (and/or since the two surgeries I had to complete it). Just two days of medium flow, and a little spotting either side. I’m sure it used to be 5 days, with one heavy day and two or three medium. It’s been a while though, as I was on the pill for a year before conceiving DD, then on the (mini-)pill again for 2+ years after her birth, so I’m a fair bit older now. Are you thinking your period this month was a problem for some reason?

Ladyinpink1 · 24/09/2023 16:12

@Vic231 I'm sorry for your losses. I have been referred for testing through the epu also (6 week wait) after my loss last month, so i'm still waiting. Gp did overall bloods in meantime and they were OK so I am still going to ttc while I wait. I hope you get answers and solutions next week and let us know how you get on x

@Haylsttc cd 10 - 13 is good, close to ovulation for you I hope!

I am only on cd5 😩 lol I feel like it's taking forever. Not sure if I will ovulate as this is my first cycle but if I do, normally about cd14 ish. x

OP posts:
Ladyinpink1 · 24/09/2023 15:35

@Bali200 I just buy my omega from asda or similar and take one a day. I take 100mg of b6 a day, 200mg a day the week before my period when I'm 😠 lol
Cocktails on holiday sounds perfect, did you have a good time? They say when you are relaxed (like on holiday) there Is a better chance of conceiving so I'm hopeful for you. I'm doing OK, my period was 3 days then day 4 nothing then today tiny bit of spotting so I'm not hopeful for this cycle now. x

@Sunflower8092 thank you, got my fingers crossed for you too 🌈

@Ladyinpink1 thank you ❤️ I think I’m around cycle day 10 - 13 not 100% sure with my deleting my apps. What cycle day are you on, you must be getting close to ovulation now? 😊
