Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

Glad to hear yours returned to normal! This one is a very strange period. I breastfed my youngest and didn’t have periods for nearly 4 years so I can’t wait to get pregnant again and hopefully not have a period lol! How are you feeling about ttc?

Haylsttc · 02/10/2023 22:28

@Bali200 I read that too but I also read your body gets rid of what b6 you don’t need so who knows 🤷‍♀️😅

@Aaliyahrae sorry to hear that, hopefully this cycle is your cycle! My first period after my missed miscarriage was longer than usual lasting seven days when my period is usually four days occasionally five. However it returned back to normal for the two other periods I’ve had since so hopefully yours will too 😊

Aaliyahrae · 02/10/2023 16:22

Hi ladies, just an update.
I wasn’t pregnant and started my period 4 days ago. Can I ask, those who have had a miscarriage, how did you find your periods after? This period is very crampy, heavy and is still deep and red at day 4! Have an awful heavy full feeling in my lower stomach just above where my pubic hair starts and I never really get pains like this! Have any of your cycles been different since?

Bali200 · 02/10/2023 14:23

Thanks @Haylsttc that’s really interesting to know. My cycles were a bit all over the place before I conceived but I do think my LP was a bit on the short side from ovulating a bit later (around cd18) but as I ovulated on CD16 this time I’m hoping that it won’t be an issue. There is b6 within 3 of the vitamins I bought so I’ve just googled whether you can OD on b6, apparently you can 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

@Ladyinpink1 ooh that is a great list, thanks for sharing! I’ve been looking at the coq10, which strength do you take ? And great news you’re not spotting and have the EWCM, all sounds very positive, but I am also very impatient at waiting, this tww is killingggg me! X

Ladyinpink1 · 01/10/2023 15:44

Yes @Oxalis00 You are right, they do flood easily, I have to take them out the second I see the purple line start, I just thought they were all like that, I will check out the ones you use thank you x

Hi @Bali200 Yay, that's good news, i'm glad your temp is rising. I'm good, no spotting today and still lots of ewcm but no positive opk or temp change yet. So still impatiently waiting. Lol.
Oh I love my vitamins, as you will see by my list 😄, I take:

Vit c Vit B6 B12 B complex
Folic acid high strength vit D omega

Kelp magnesium calcium zinc
Coq10

I have always taken vitamins (never used to take quite as many as this) but after this latest miscarriage, the midwives said being low in some things can be linked to miscarriage, they both specifically mentioned Vitamin D, then I researched other things and got some more vitamins to take to cover all my bases 😁. x

Haylsttc · 01/10/2023 10:57

@Bali200 I much prefer taking separate vitamins too, last cycle I tried taking the Wild Nutrition Fertility Support and my ovulation was delayed ovulation to cycle day 20 when I would normally ovulate around cycle day 15 or 16. So I’ve stopped taking them this cycle and I’m back to taking individual vitamins as that’s what I was taking when I got pregnant the first time.

So I’m currently taking:
Folic acid
High strength vitamin D
Vitamin B6

That’s literally it 😂 If you have a short luteal phase like me I would recommend the B6, I’m almost certain that’s what helped me conceive the first time!

Bali200 · 01/10/2023 10:19

Morning all 😊 hope everyone’s doing ok?

@Ladyinpink1 yes my temp has increased the past couple of days thankfully. I haven’t been sleeping so great this week which I think may have impacted my temping. How are you doing with the opks? Any sign of a positive yet? 🤞🏼

I went shopping yesterday and stocked up on separate vitamins, as I’ve heard bad things about pregnacare conception delaying your cycle so I have stopped taking them. I now rattle when I walk as I’m taking the following:-

seven seas trying for a baby
b complex
omega
vit d high strength
magnesium and zinc - these help me to sleep better and I was taking when I conceived last time, for sleeping purposes, so I bought them again 🤞🏼

has anyone got any other recommendations? X

graceinc22 · 30/09/2023 09:44

@Anotheranxiousone thank you, makes a lot of sense. X

Oxalis00 · 30/09/2023 07:58

@Ladyinpink1 the one step ones - at least the super skinny ones I have - seemed flimsy, easily flooded, and the line was fuzzy and hard to see. My PreMom app struggled to read them too. I just didn’t trust them! You get used to what you know I suppose. You could spend a fortune chasing the ‘best’ version of all this stuff 😕

Anotheranxiousone · 30/09/2023 06:42

Hi @graceinc22 just to add my experience - I did ovulate, 2 weeks and a day (16 days) after Mc bleeding started and usually have a regular 28 day cycle. I usually ovulate day 13 so this was a few days later for me. However as you know pcos may complicate things a little and everyone’s cycles post miscarriage are different. Can always speak to doctor if concerned. I totally understand your frustrations though and I’ve felt so paranoid about the instantly fertile after MC chat, and expectation I’ll conceive again immediately etc!

Ladyinpink1 · 29/09/2023 23:09

@Haylsttc I'm glad things are back to normal for you now. Hopefully for me next cycle too.
Not yet, I'm cd10 so just waiting to see if I will or not. I'm temping with opks. That's great your in the tww now. Hopefully it goes in fast! x

@Oxalis00 definitely it can't hurt! And it's good to feel like you are doing something I think.
I'm cd10 too, waiting not so patiently to see if I ovulate this cycle.
I use one step tests, are the easy ones better? x

OP posts:
Ladyinpink1 · 29/09/2023 23:03

@Bali200 That is a little confusing
So after 3 days in a row of a higher temperature then on my app, (ff) ovulation Definitely occurred so even if it's only a little higher maybe it's starting off slower and will climb up a bit the next few days. Let us know what the mornings temp is.
I have had lots of ewcm but the tiniest bit of spotting each morning in it these past few days so I'm not sure how I'm getting on lol. This is only the first cycle so may be better next months cycle x

Hi everyone, not sure where the time’s gone! I’ve been reading all your posts but evidently haven’t written anything for a week or so. Hooray for the weekend!

@Ladyinpink1 Thanks for your comment way back about supplements. I’m always interested in any new ways I can kid myself I have control over this TTC malarkey…! The Ovum supplement I’ve been taking for the past couple of weeks has CoQ10 in but I hadn’t looked into it at all before. Every little helps though right?! Until it becomes obsessive and expensive and actually doesn’t help… 🤪 I’m CD10 so waiting for ov with you too. Tried one step tests this month but hated them so I’m back on easy@home. More money for Amazon!

@SnookyPook Well done for your efforts DTD, and fingers crossed for you! I hope you’re able to go gently this TWW, though I’m sure there’s a lot of thinking and feeling going on.

@graceinc22 I think you asked about ovulation after loss? I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this too. My experience was unusual (it took 2.5 months to clear the MC) so not a helpful reference, but I just wanted to say that what feels like interminable waiting and not knowing now will one day be behind you, as hard as that may be to imagine right now. Your body has its own wisdom on this, as hard as it is to wait. You WILL come out the other side of this.

Haylsttc · 29/09/2023 17:41

@Ladyinpink1 I didn’t spot after my period but my period was 7 days when normally it’s only 4 or 5 max! The spotting prior to my period was 7 days too, it was all very confusing but I seem to have gone back to normal now.

I agree about the falling pregnant straight away after a MC thing! When it didn’t happen for me I was gutted, it was just added pressure!

Have you hit ovulation day yet? I’m think I must be in the tww now!

Bali200 · 29/09/2023 16:17

@Ladyinpink1 it only rose by 0.08 after, normally it’s higher…I keep looking back at the cycle I fell pregnant in to compare my temps and it’s totally different 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

cycle I conceived:
day before O: 36.19
O: 36.34
day after: 36.77

this cycle:
day before O: 36.54
O: 36.54
day after: 36.62

I think my body is broken 😂 how are you getting on? X

Ladyinpink1 · 29/09/2023 15:16

@graceinc22 i'm sorry for your loss, its very frustrating, I had a miscarriage in December and I had read that you are really fertile the first 3 months, but it took me 5 months to conceive again and it was really a sad time.
It will be 6 weeks tomorrow since this miscarriage started, I had a period that started 10 days ago, but it was very light and I have had a tiny bit of light spotting each morning the past few days so I'm not really sure what's going on this cycle. Have you had a period yet since?

@Haylsttc Did you spot after your period as well, between that and ovulation?

Yay for ovulation, @SnookyPook let the tww begin! x

@Bali200 hi, I was just reading your comment that your temp didn't drop, did it rise after? x

OP posts:
Bali200 · 29/09/2023 14:34

Hi @graceinc22 sorry for your loss, I hope you are doing ok?

My bbt haven’t followed a normal pattern since my loss, it’s been higher than normal during my follicular phase and I didn’t get a dip around ovulation this time. (Normally the day before ov my temp is 36.2, this time it was 36.55 the day before and ov day).

I had high/peak opks on CD14 and CD15, both natural cycles and pre-mom say I ovulated on CD16, which is a little early for me.

This is technically my second cycle after my mmc, according to my bbt I ovulated on CD21 after my loss but opks didn’t catch a high/peak result so not sure if I actually did or not.

Yes I find those posts really unhelpful as well, and ones which say we’re meant to be more fertile after a mc. I think personally speaking, my body and hormones are still all over the place 7 weeks after my MMC. My body’s reaction earlier this week to ovulation suggests that to me. But interestingly I didn’t have any of those ovulation symptoms in the cycle following my loss.

Our bodies have been through such a traumatic event, no wonder it takes a while for our cycles to recover. How are you tracking ovulation? X

moosey89 · 29/09/2023 14:16

@graceinc22 I didn't ovulate until after my period came back. Period was 4 1/2 weeks post miscarriage, ovulation was 2 weeks after that.

SnookyPook · 29/09/2023 13:25

@graceinc22 sorry and I do empathise - the 'I got pregnant again straight away stories' really got to me.

Very similar to @Haylsttc - I didn't track ovulation the month after the loss as my head really wasn't there and wasn't bothered at all tbh. However, my period also came back 5 weeks to the day after my miscarriage bleeding started. My first full cycle (so, technically second from the loss) was marginally shorter than usual (24 days instead of my usual 29) and from my opks I ovulated a bit earlier than normal (CD11 I think - usually closer to cd15). I'm now 5 months on. My periods have been pretty regular apart from last month which unfortunately was a chemical pregnancy so AF/loss bleeding started 5 days late. However, according to opks I've just ovulated again at CD15.

Hope you get some clarity soon. Xx

Haylsttc · 29/09/2023 12:31

@graceinc22 Sorry to hear that, that first cycle after miscarriage is torturous. I was constantly worrying if and when my period would come back. I was advised to wait until I got my period before we started trying again. So my first cycle trying was technically my second cycle if that makes sense?

So I can’t help with when I ovulated my first cycle as I wasn’t tracking due to not trying but I can tell you it took five weeks for period to come back. On week 3 I spotted for five days which I thought was my period but then on week 5 my actual period arrived.

For my second cycle, the first cycle we tried again, I ovulated cycle day 16 and I have regular 29 day cycles most of the time.

graceinc22 · 29/09/2023 12:22

What day in the first cycle post miscarriage did everyone else ovulate? X

graceinc22 · 29/09/2023 12:21

@Bali200 hows your bbt looking, does it look like you’ve ovulated? Fingers crossed!

It’s been exactly a month since I miscarried and still I haven’t ovulated. I have PCOS and am used to long ish cycles but I guess hoped my body would snap back more. It’s easy to get down when you read all the posts online being like ‘I ovulated 2 weeks after miscarriage and got pregnant’, it feels like my body hasn’t fully woken up!! Let’s see how the next week goes

Bali200 · 27/09/2023 22:47

@Ladyinpink1 that’s true, I mean I’m just guessing these are ovulation symptoms as I’ve never had them before, if not then it’s the weirdest illness ever 😂 just a bit gutting to have this bloat as it reminds me of my pregnancy bloat 😔

Apparently my ovulation day was yesterday according to my apps but they haven’t confirmed yet due to no rise. We shall see what tomorrow’s temperature brings though 🤞🏼x

Ladyinpink1 · 27/09/2023 20:45

That sounds uncomfortable 😕@Bali200 but maybe good that you are getting symptoms of ovulation?
Dont loose hope! I think the temp change comes the day after ovulation to show ovulation has happened... So tomorrow morning for you it should rise, is that right? x

Bali200 · 27/09/2023 20:17

Thanks @Ladyinpink1 I have such low hopes for this cycle even with all the baby dancing that we got in. I feel like I’ve had absolutely terrible ovulation symptoms the past couple of days and I think it’s because my body is reacting to the hormones. Basically I’ve had extreme bloat, an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach and uterus, very gassy, have light headedness and dizziness. I never had any of these pre-mc. My bbt hasn’t even confirmed ovulation yet either as my temp seemed higher this follicular phase than normal. I feel like my body needs some time to get back to normal tbh, if I don’t catch this time then I’m going to have a break for a couple of months.

Ooh that’s exciting, hopefully not long to wait until you get your peak. Get ready for the baby dancing 🤣 x
