Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

@Oxalis00 thank you - that helps. I've actually started bleeding a bit so we'll see what happens between now and Thursday. I'm hoping they'll still proceed with the surgery if it hasn't fully cleared by then naturally, really want to avoid this dragging on for too long x

Oxalis00 · 17/10/2023 08:23

@SnookyPook How are you doing? Have you tested again? Such an emotional rollercoaster - and all the while we’re supposed to just get on with life and work like nothing is happening 😫 Thinking of you today x

Oxalis00 · 17/10/2023 08:22

^ 11DPO I mean, obviously - CD28. Told you I was sleep deprived!

Oxalis00 · 17/10/2023 08:15

@Ladyinpink1 How are you getting on? CD11 for you too? I’m nervous! Not testing yet… Temping has become stressful though, my nearly 3yo is waking loads at night atm so my sleep is really disturbed and I’m not sure I trust the readings, but I’m dreading seeing that drop!

Oxalis00 · 17/10/2023 08:14

@ThelastRolo20 I’m sorry you find yourself here. Sadly there’s lots of us with a similar experience. I’d think of surgery as day 1, it should reset hormones, so you could ovulate as early as 2 weeks after, though it may take longer. They usually say to expect a period after 4-6 weeks. They’ll ask you to do another pregnancy test 3 weeks after surgery to be sure everything was cleared. Do go back to EPU/GP if you have any concerns at any point.

ThelastRolo20 · 17/10/2023 06:33

@Ladyinpink1 @Haylsttc thanks both, I don't really know the name of the surgery, just that it's under general and they just a little vacuum to remove everything! So not quite a d&c I don't think. If all goes well I should bleed for no more than two weeks then I guess I'll stay using opks! Mentally seems weird to be going back to TTC but there we are.

How are you both getting on? (Thank you re my username - my dog is called Rolo so inspired by him haha)

Haylsttc · 16/10/2023 23:02

@wyto got my fingers crossed for you 🤞

@SnookyPook I am so sorry that’s so tough, I am hoping that the tests become darker for you ❤️

@Ladyinpink1 I really want to try progesterone when I next get a bfp, I think I’m going to go private for it as I didn’t have much luck when I spoke to my doctor 😓

@ThelastRolo20 so sorry for your loss that is heartbreaking 💔 What is the surgery called that you are booked in for? I had an MVA as my hospital didn’t do d&c’s. Happy to answer any questions on that for you! I can’t comment on ovulation afterwards as I didn’t try that cycle but I got my period 5 weeks after the procedure x

Ladyinpink1 · 16/10/2023 22:40

I'm really sorry for your loss @ThelastRolo20 it is all so raw for you still right now i'm sure. I don't know about the surgery, hopefully someone else can answer that, but I can relate to just wanting to try again asap.
I hope things go as smoothly as they can for you on Thursday.

(I love your username btw!) x

Hi everyone, can I join? Today was meant to be my 12 week scan but baby stopped growing at just short of 10 weeks. Feeling heartbroken but want to move on, I have my surgery on Thursday so hoping that goes well and we can try in the next month or so. Has anyone else had the surgery, and if so how soon after did you ovulate?

Ladyinpink1 · 16/10/2023 18:43

@SnookyPook I'm so sorry to hear this, I feel really sad for you 😔 the unknown is so difficult, I really hope this is wrong and that you see the line change to become darker in the next day or two. Thinking of you. 🪻 xx

@Vic231 i'm glad you feel a little better, yes you take it from as soon as you get a bfp, until 16 weeks I think.
The midwife called it an undated script but it's a letter prescription, I need to write my gp's name and the date on if I get a bfp then I still have to give it to the GP first before getting a prescription for the chemist so not sure how much quicker it would really be lol. This is what it is ⬇️

Yes I know what you mean, and because it is so out of our control too it is even tougher, I think that's why I obsess a little with documenting and opks etc, to give me some feeling of being in control and doing something x

Thanks everyone. @Oxalis00 yep all same sample, and no, this was the first weeks indicator I've done but I should be 4+6 today. Ah well, time will tell.

Oxalis00 · 16/10/2023 11:04

Oh @SnookyPook I’m so sorry you’re in this position. I really hope and believe it could still turn out ok for you - were these all same urine sample? Did you do a weeks indicator test previously? But of course you know your body and what’s normal for you. Of course you feel despondent :( Sending strength for today as you wait and see xx

Vic231 · 16/10/2023 09:43

Oh @SnookyPook I am so sorry to read this, it does sound like it could be a chemical? Although you never know! I really hope it isn't, I have everything crossed for you. This whole journey can be so cruel x

Vic231 · 16/10/2023 09:42

@Ladyinpink1 thank you, you have made me feel much better! After my last MC the midwife said it was entirely up to us if we tried again before testing and if we fell pregnant I could be prescribed progesterone. I wasn't given an undated prescription which would have been amazing but they said I could either speak to my docs or speak to them and they would contact my doctors (I'd probably do the latter!). So would that be to take straight away from BFP? That would be so reassuring!

I am so with you on the waiting - it's very frustrating! I said to my DH that it feels like someone is telling us we can't do something that we really want to (I know it's not really like that!) but that might be why we had a rebellious moment last week 😂

graceinc22 · 16/10/2023 08:56

@SnookyPook sending hugs <3 really hoping all goes well for you and that you don't have a loss xx

SnookyPook · 16/10/2023 08:54

Morning all... Pretty sure this is another early loss. I'd be delighted with these tests if I'd got them a week ago but I should be 5weeks on Tuesday so it's not looking great. And yes, I'm pretty sure I know when I ovulated as used opks and got a clear peak. My first positive was also almost a week ago. I just hope it doesn't all drag on too long. I'm really struggling at this point. This has been such a crapp year. MMC in April and then two early losses one after the other and right on my original due date month. I'm feeling really despondent right now. Sorry to be a complete downer on a Monday morning. Hope everyone else is ok. Looks like I'll be back to TTC again very soon. Although not sure I can take much more right now. 😞

Ladyinpink1 · 16/10/2023 08:25

@graceinc22 Yes coq10 is one of my many 🤣 it is a readily used one and I think as you said anything is worth a try, I have been giving it to dh also as it helps the sperm too, if your oh is on board? I also read that men should take Folic acid too to give healthy sperm and reduce defects in sperm.

I was given an undated scrip for progesterone pessaries from the epu after my last miscarriage and they said if we fell preg before our test appointment then to give it to Gp to get the script and start it straight away until 16 weeks, as you said apparently it's very good if you have had a previous loss or other issues. So if you did fall pregnant then I'm sure you could get that @Vic231 x

It all just seems for be waiting when ttc doesn't it, waiting for tests, waiting for ovulation, two week wait, waiting for period, waiting for temp changes, I have decided I really don't like waiting lol x

@graceinc22 I have heard of ovulation spotting maybe from the egg bursting out... could that be right?

Could the medication you are on maybe cause the ovulation to be more pronounced. I'm sorry you are having a confusing cycle and I hope that it is ovulation and your temps stay high for the next few days 🙂 x

My temp dipped today so AF will be here tomorrow, I will be glad to get a new fresh, hopefully textbook cycle 🙂 x

@Vic231 yes I know what you mean 😩 there's so much information out there, some of it contradictory which is so hard to keep track of when you're just trying to do what's best to have a healthy pregnancy.

@Ladyinpink1 glad it's useful 🙂 agree with you a progesterone prescription may also be helpful, and I understand the NICE guidelines changed in 2021 that for anyone who previously had a MC and is experiencing bleeding in early pregnancy should be prescribed it, as it's been shown it can help lead to a healthy pregnancy, so if this isn't something that your GP prescribes at that stage it's certainly worth asking.

Know what you mean about the vitamins as well, have also started taking CoQ10 (which I think you'd mentioned before?) because at this point, might as well give anything a go 😅

@graceinc22 sorry it's all been a bit weird. I had what (I think) was ovulation spotting last month (as it coincided with the flashing smileys on the CB tests), which I'd never had before, but I think it was just down to it being my first ovulation after the MC so chalked it up to that. Are you still getting flashing smileys? If so, I'd keep testing just in case? x

Ladyinpink1 · 16/10/2023 07:46

Congratulations! 🎉🎊 @wyto that's very exciting and great that you didn't have to wait long x

@Vic231 hi, i'm sorry you are feeling worried, it's such a difficult position to be in because you want acbaby so much but also feel the need to wait. I am waiting for tests also, I don't know anything about what they are exactly but I see @Liz2681 knows alot (saving your message for future reference Liz 🙂) but as to you dtd and being worried... I just wanted to say I also had my basic tests from GP (thyroid, iron etc) and they have came back all fine so I have increased as many different types of vitamins as I can and we are actively trying while waiting for the tests. Have you been given a script for progesterone if you do fall pregnant? If not, if it did happen for you this cycle, you could ask about that? x

My body continues to be weird! After a few days of flashing smileys and ewcm, yesterday the ewcm seemed to almost dry up and I had a bit of spotting in the evening, I thought, maybe my body has given up on ovulating and decided to have a period instead. I was actually fine with that because then I can start my next cycle of letrozole. But now, this morning, my period hasn’t started and my bbt has gone up noticeably…. Is ovulation spotting a thing? Google seems to say yes, but never had it before! I usually never get any kind of mid cycle bleed.

Vic231 · 15/10/2023 21:31

Hi @Liz2681 thank you for replying! I've just checked and my letter looks to be for the hormone test. It's highlighted for testing the following; MENO OEST, LH & FSH, Oestradiol I'm having the test as part of investigations into recurrent miscarriage. My tests for thyroid, clotting and others have come back normal. After consulting Dr Google it says that a hormone imbalance can cause miscarriage due to womb lining etc. I'm not entirely sure what to think of it as my periods are like clockwork and quite heavy but there probably more to it than that! Argh it's so tough to try and understand! X

Liz2681 · 15/10/2023 20:51

@wyto congratulations! Keeping fingers crossed for good news 🥳

@Vic231 I did Hertility which is a type of Day 3 hormone test. They tested for:

  • Ovarian Reserve and Fertility (AMH)
  • Hormones affecting ovulation and period (FSH, LH, OEST, and Prolactin)
  • Androgen hormones (DHEA, SHBG, Testosterone)
  • Thyroid function

What results you get though will depend on what test you're using so you may get results for different hormones etc.

Overall, I got the sense the test was there more to give me insight into anything that may be making it difficult for me to get pregnant as opposed to giving insight into how to support a healthy pregnancy once I do get pregnant, but again this may just depend on the test 🙂 x

Vic231 · 15/10/2023 17:00

@wyto that's exciting! I have my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

@Ladyinpink1 sorry you've had an evap 😔 there's still time though 🤞🏼

For me, I'm waiting on cycle day 3 tests. Does anyone know what this does or doesn't show? I've been told not to be pregnant when you have them done to show a baseline, DH and I were refraining from DTD for this reason, until earlier this week 🤦🏻‍♀️ then when I opened my flo app (which I'd been having a few cycles off of whilst we wait so as not to obsess) we only DTD right on ovulation day! So im back in the TWW again.

Just a bit worried that if I am pregnant this cycle (which feels a bit slim, but I guess it only takes once!) then I might miss finding out something that allows me to support the pregnancy to finally bring a baby home - if that's makes sense? So if anyone knows anything about the cycle day 3 tests I would be appreciative.

What will be will be, is what I've been telling myself and either outcome will be good, I'll either be pregnant or having blood tests to move forward on my journey x
