Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

Evening all, hope everyone is doing ok?

Hi @Ladyinpink1 I’m 4dpo today so now in the tww with @Haylsttc and @Liz2681 although it’s an 8 day wait in my case 🙄 unless the b6 works a miracle, do you know how long it takes to start having an effect? How are you getting on? Any sign of a positive opk yet or is it too early? X

Sorry to hear the nurse was so insensitive in what she said to you@Vic231 , that’s really brutal but I hope the test results come back ok. Well done on seeing your friend’s newborn, that must have taken a lot after what you’ve been through. I’ve been putting off meeting my best friend’s twin babies that were born the week after my MMC as I don’t want to be upset meeting them/holding them, I want it to be a happy moment but I’m just not in the right headspace yet 😢 x

Liz2681 · 26/10/2023 07:01

Hi all, just doing a bit of catching up with messages as yesterday was a busy one.

Completely understand what everyone means by seeing babies everywhere/ pregnancy announcements. I don't know if I'm just more sensitive now because we're TTC but it feels like since the MC we've had the double whammy of my sister in law being pregnant, and now we recently found out our friends are pregnant as well after they went through their own MC in May. I'm thrilled for them, but it's just another thing to pile on.

@Vic231 sorry you had a crap experience. My experience to date is that sometimes medical professionals are so jaded they come across sometimes - quite telling that the most compassion I've had through this whole process from medical staff was the trainee GP I saw after my MC!

@Haylsttc we've probably mentioned this before but we're in very similar stages of our cycle - CD21 for me and 1DPO so now into TTW 😬 just gonna try to keep busy and avoid obsessing like I did last cycle and try to remind myself I can't control whatever ends up happening 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wise0wl · 25/10/2023 21:44

@Vic231 totally agree. I sort of thought I’d definitely be pregnant (and not only just?) by the time that baby’s born and that would make me feel better, but I’m now thinking I might not be, by then. That must be so so hard about you friend’s IVF baby x

Haylsttc · 25/10/2023 20:50

@Vic231 aw bless you that sounds like a difficult experience! I’m glad you were able to see your friends baby and not feel sad though that must have been a relief for you both.

@Aaliyahrae completely agree with seeing babies everywhere! I’m struggling with that and also pregnancy announcements at the moment 🥺

I’m currently cycle day 18 but I missed a few days of ovulation tests so I’m not actually sure when I ovulated 🙈 Going off the signs my body gives me I think it was yesterday or potentially today! Quite a late ovulation compared to last month so I’m not sure what’s going on, just hoping my luteal phase isn’t too short because of it 😓

Ladyinpink1 · 25/10/2023 20:48

I understand @Vic231 , I am a serial overthinker 🙂 but I dont think you are overreacting at all, given what you said to the nurse about what had happened to you 2 seconds before she said what she did then she should have only said kind encouraging things. x

@graceinc22 thank you lovely, it's really tough when people say things without really thinking. I'm sure we've all been on the receiving end of something x

@Ladyinpink1 thank you, it's exactly that. I should probably also brush it off easier but I'm a real overthinker/worrier. Thank you also for sharing that about your colleague, these stories really help me x

@Wise0wl oh wow that's really tough, it must've been hard the whole time. I'm sure you will feel better once the baby is here a bit like the waiting and expectation is worse. My friend had her baby through IVF and had the transfer the month after we lost our little girl and it's hard in itself to think that a baby has grown and be born and we still don't have a living child x

Wise0wl · 25/10/2023 18:56

Oh @Vic231 i am so sorry. How thoughtless! And well done for seeing your friend too, that’s a really brave thing to have done and glad it helped identify the thought is worse than the reality. Someone v close to me is expecting a baby on my due date from my MMC and I’m finding that hard to process. Hopefully when that baby is here I’ll feel ok.

Ladyinpink1 · 25/10/2023 18:26

@Aaliyahrae Yes I am good thanks, cd9 today, I feel really positive about this month, it's only cycle 2 of ttc since the last loss so maybe I'm setting myself up for a hard fall when AF arrives but I can't help feel positive, I think because I have been pregnant twice at this time of year before maybe. x

@Vic231 I'm sorry the nurse (although coming from a good place as you said), wasn't very sensitive in how she spoke to you, sounds like she maybe had an issue conceiving which is completely different.
I hope you get good news back and also maybe an answer and solution after all of the tests are completed so that you can go on to ttc with feeling more confidence.
A lady in my work told me she had 3 miscarriages and they told her you just can't have kids... she then went on to have 3 children, never changed anything, no issues with the pregnancies and 3 healthy children so I think thats nice for all of us in our different but similar situations to think about that. x

@Vic231 I’m so sorry that happened. How upsetting. On top of the trauma you’ve already gone through x

Vic231 · 25/10/2023 16:57

Also babies and pregnant people everywhere - yep!

I was proud of myself yesterday as I plucked up the courage to see my friend and her newborn. I held the baby and it was really nice and I realised that the thought of seeing her was much worse than the reality. I also realised that I think I felt ok as the baby isn't mine, and what I want is my own baby x

Vic231 · 25/10/2023 16:55

Hi ladies, little rant incoming 😂

I just went for my cycle day 3 blood tests, gave the paper to the nurse that said tests were for recurrent miscarriage, she was putting it all into the computer and then she said 'do you have any children' I was a bit shocked to be asked so then went on to say no I'd had a stillbirth and two miscarriages (now wished I'd just said no) and she said how sorry she was etc. A few moments later she said, I know it's really hard to get a blood test appointment but we will always try and squeeze you in when it relates to this sort of thing, so I said how nice that was and how worried I was when booking it as obviously Cycle day 3 only comes around once a month and I didn't want to have to wait any longer as want to get back to TTC... and before I could finish she said 'or getting your head around not'

Again I was really shocked and I'm sure it came from a nice place as she then went on to tell me she'd had IVF and it was hard etc but it's really not what I wanted to hear as I never want to give up 😔 x

Aaliyahrae · 24/10/2023 21:10

@Ladyinpink1 @Wise0wl thanks girls. I thought I was the only one who kept seeing babies everywhere! I was like hold on, why has everyone got a newborn? Baby clothes are so hard - I always get excited like ‘aww how tiny’ then pangs of sadness when I see them. I hope you’re both okay!

Ladyinpink1 · 24/10/2023 20:52

Just read your post @Aaliyahrae I'm sorry today isn't a great day... sometimes baby clothes I find hard, especially when I'm in a certain store where I had looked at baby clothes when pregnant.
It will be your time soon, you will have your beautiful baby, lots of newborn snuggles and you will look back on this time as a distant memory, but in the meantime, just remember you are not alone x

@Wise0wl yes I know what you mean. I am OK, on cd8 today. Hope your first few days of 2ww are going not too slow x

Wise0wl · 24/10/2023 20:43

Thanks @Ladyinpink1 ! Glad to not being alone but also wouldn’t wish it on anyone at the same time, if that makes sense. How are you getting on?

@Aaliyahrae just wanted to send a virtual hug, and I know what you mean about babies and pregnant women. I feel like they’re everywhere right now.

Ladyinpink1 · 24/10/2023 20:38

Hello all, just reading through and catching up on the messages. Hope everyone is having a good week so far! x

@Bali200 That's good, how many dpo are you now. Yes hopefully it does lengthen it... mine was shorter last cycle also (1st cycle) so am making sure to be getting extra b6 too 🙂 x

@Wise0wl it's not silly at all, I was the same, I also thought it all just happened at once, had no idea it could last so long, and I would say alot of people think the same who haven't experienced it x

@ThelastRolo20 glad tests are getting lighter, hopefully not long until you get a negative preg test and a positive opk! x

@Liz2681 thank you! It helps knowing that others have been through the same thing (and I hate saying that because I wish none of us have had to go through it) but I feel like when I finally get my BFP, I’ll really appreciate it because I know how precious it is.

Aaliyahrae · 24/10/2023 13:42

@LFD123 i haven’t got a clue but the line is very strong! I’d try again tomorrow and see if you get another line ! Got everything crossed for you! Xx

LFD123 · 24/10/2023 13:40

@Liz2681 i think I used every brand available to double check I was negative lol, so yes I’ve definitely had a fully negative first response & clear blue. I was expecting to see the same this morning & got a shock… don’t wait to get my hopes up either & afraid to even mention to my husband incase I’ve got it wrong 😑

Liz2681 · 24/10/2023 13:34

@Aaliyahrae really sorry you're having a tough day. It is so difficult when you reach certain milestones and think what could have been. Hope you feel better soon xx

@LFD123 welcome to the thread! So sorry for your loss with the MMC. If that's an indent it's certainly one of the most prominent I've seen, so to me it looks like it could be positive. Were the other negatives you've had since your MMC first response tests as well? If not, it might be that the HCG levels are still being picked up from the MMC (depending on how far along you were). If they were FRs, I'd test again as it's not unheard of to get pregnant fairly quickly after a MC - I ovulated two weeks after my MC last month so it's certainly possible! xx

LFD123 · 24/10/2023 13:32

Thank you, with my first pregnancy I used clearblue & it was a faint line to start. But does the first response 6 days early pick up sooner than a clearblue would? I’ll maybe test again tomorrow.

Aaliyahrae · 24/10/2023 13:26

Hi, the line doesn’t look like it has any colour but it is a very decent line so an indent! Perhaps take another test and see if you get another line - if you do, then I’d say you’re pregnant!! xxx

LFD123 · 24/10/2023 13:24

Hiya new to this so not sure if I’m even posting right. But just wanted another opinion, is this positive? Had an early miscarriage last month and have been having negatives this passed 4 weeks, however this morning when I tested there was this. Should I take it as a positive?

Cd1 of ttc first cycle after loss... anyone want to join me? 🙂

Aaliyahrae · 24/10/2023 13:11

Got a BFN this morning. Only tested as I found a test in the back of a drawer. Not sure what I expected because I’ve barely had sex. If I was pregnant, it would definitely show by now based on when I last had sex. I should be coming up to my 3rd trimester not still hoping to be pregnant; it’s so sad. Went into Waitrose to grab some bits for dinner and there were lots of newborns and tiny babies in the cafe, my heart was aching so much. Sorry for the downer post. Just wish I never had the miscarriage.

Wise0wl · 23/10/2023 21:19

Thank you. And likewise, good luck for a positive OPK for you!

ThelastRolo20 · 23/10/2023 21:15

@Wise0wl ah best of luck, fingers crossed this month is the month. If I were on a normal cycle I'd be ovulating next Tuesday, but given the MMC, it's anyone's guess this month. Haven't gotten any false positives on OPKs though which is good so when it's positive I'll believe it
