Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

I had positive ovulation tests while I still had retained products @ThelastRolo20 though I wasn’t using pregnancy tests at the time as I thought the MC was complete. Long story… Not saying you have RP! HCG can take a while to come down after a MC anyway. They say to test 3 weeks after so hopefully you’re nearly there. But yes, I think at low levels of HCG the body can also ovulate. I read the same on other threads when I was looking for info at the time. So keep an eye on that LH test and hopefully you’ll see some changes soon.

ThelastRolo20 · 01/11/2023 11:17

Hi everyone - sorry I've been a bit MIA. Been patiently (or not so patiently!!) Waiting for these bloody pregnancy tests to be negative. They're so very nearly there (pic below for support - I'm over two weeks since MMC and I'd hoped they'd be negative by now! Today's is the bottom test)

My OPKS have been as blank as a sheet of paper but got the faintest line this morning and discharge has picked up (soz) so I'm praying ovulation could happen this week. Has anyone ovulated with HCG still showing though?? I'm worried nothing will happen until that elusive negative test happens.

I've just been reading through messages since I posted yesterday and you've all made me feel a little bit better in that we are all the same and feel the same. Sometimes I worry I'm going a bit crazy testing, overthinking, researching etc but then I come on here and feel a little reassured. I feel like I've lost my positivity recently and desperately trying to find it again. I have a weekend away with friends coming up and really hope it will be full of laughter and distractions!

Haylsttc · 01/11/2023 10:44

I second what you said about feeling more zen this cycle @Bali200! For some reason this cycle compared to my other three trying after my MMC I feel very much what will be will be. Whereas the other three cycles I convinced myself I would be pregnant and I’ve been gutted when I wasn’t.

@Ladyinpink1 I think missing one day will be fine! The cycle I actually got pregnant we weren’t tracking but when I looked back at my dates to try and work it out it looks like we only managed twice in the fertile window and it was a success 😊

If this cycle isn’t a success I think I might switch up my vitamins and try a all in one conception vitamin or try no vitamins other than folic acid and let my body do it’s own thing for a bit, I’m in two minds 😂

Bali200 · 01/11/2023 09:46

@SunSparkle ooh can you please keep me updated with how you get on with the soy isoflavones? I’ve been looking into using these. Are you going to use opks to track ovulation? X

@Ladyinpink1 glad you found the energy lol it feels like such hard work doesn’t it 😂 yep don’t worry, there should still be plenty of swimmers hanging around, missing 1 day shouldn’t make a difference 😅 do you tend to ov the day after peak opk or two days after?

I know, I would rather bury my head in the sand and not test lol I might even cancel the drinks tomorrow and hold off testing 🫣

Still have a feeling down there yes, can’t quite describe it but it’s there still. Absolute zero other symptoms although occasionally my back twinges and I think ooo is that back pain, that’s a symptom 😂

Lol about the long message, mine are always essays 😂 x

Aaliyahrae · 01/11/2023 09:18

@Wise0wl I have 2, they are 8 and 4 (nearly 5!). My two are literally best friends. They do everything together and the gap isn’t that small (3.5 years!). They have their own rooms but sleep in the same bed, they bath together, eat together. It’s lovely. How old are yours?

Aaliyahrae · 01/11/2023 09:04

@Oxalis00 i don’t always feel it but I think it’s literally taking over my life. I had a massive argument with OH last month because he was going out with his friend so we couldn’t DTD then he was working nights and I was upset because we couldn’t fit in DTD during the day and he basically said he doesn’t even feel like he wants to do it because he feels like I just want it over and done with for his sperm. So when I came on, I was like right, I need to relax for a month and just try and enjoy it again instead of thinking ‘hurry up and finish’. It is so hard not to be obsessed isn’t it? But my obsession is just making me so sad when I see the negative tests that I need to just breathe for a second. Good news, we managed to DTD last night, probably way too late but I enjoyed it!

Ladyinpink1 · 01/11/2023 08:44

Yes @Bali200 we mustered up the energy last night lol. And I checked my app and it was only the 1 day we have missed (maybe most important day) but I'm hoping the store up from the days before were still swimming 😄

You are very good not testing, I really hope I can manage to do the same this cycle. (Would be the first time ever lol) Glad you are feeling zen 😌 , in my opinion first response are the best I have never had an evap line.. they can be hard to find in shops but if you ordered on Prime would only be a day or two. I normally start testing early with cheapies then if I see a line switch to first response.. I'm not rich enough to obsess using first response 🤣 Do you still have that fullness feeling.

Oh my goodness how long is my message, better go get ready for work! x

@Wise0wl I go between wanting another so much and being terrified. Oh that's interesting, have you ever had this before? Surely that's a good sign. What baby number is this for you? x

@Haylsttc well this has been my experience in the past, so I hope I'm not wrong for you🙈 but yes my cycle has lengthened if ov was later. x

@Aaliyahrae lol It really is such a passion killer, safest to wait until they are in bed I think... but even then "up for a peepee mummy" 😅 yes it was lovely thank you so much, kid free night away! I'm good, I think I'm 1dpo today as my temp went super high this morning. Hope you get some free time with dh over the weekend x

SunSparkle · 01/11/2023 08:27

@Bali200 only in the last few weeks have I really started on vitamins. I’m taking 100mg B6, starting soy isoflavones today at cd3. Also take high strength folic acid, 1000mg of vitamin C and iron. I think the B6 takes awhile to work and the soy is a new addition. Vitamin C and iron have made me feel loads better in the last month as I have low ferritin levels. Not sure if it will make a difference, but can’t hurt anything

Bali200 · 01/11/2023 07:51

@SunSparkle that’s very similar to my luteal phase, this is my longest this year so far at 10dpo today 😅 have you tried b6 or are you just going to wait to see what they say at your appointment? X

That’s interesting to hear @CluelessInLondon although I don’t think it’s my cycle. As my last pregnancy wasn’t planned I don’t remember any early symptoms, only cramps for about 5 days but no AF, and sore boobs at 5 weeks which is what made me test x

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well @Haylsttc and that you’re not feeling too confident, but you never know! My ov was also a little later this time and I’m having a longer cycle too as a result so I hope you do too x

Sorry if I’ve missed anyone, have a great day everyone, sending lots of positive vibes to you all 💗 x

Bali200 · 01/11/2023 07:43

Morning all, lots to catch up on!

@Ladyinpink1 try not to worry about missing out one day, I’m sure you’re still covered. Did you manage to dtd last night? I also use the easy@home ones too and I recommend them although they’re the only ones I’ve used so I have nothing to compare them to haha.

I would prefer to wait for af rather than test and see a BFN tbh, I already counted myself out at 6dpo due to no symptoms which I know is silly 😂 but I’ve made peace this week with it happening when it happens x

My temp has dropped a little this morning but is still above cover line, I’ll attach my chart. If no sign of AF by tomorrow morning (thurs) then I might have to test as I’m going for a few after work drinks tomorrow. Any recommendations for which preg tests to use ladies?

Either way I’m feeling quite chilled about it at the moment, I even used the word ‘zen’ to describe how I’m feeling to DP last night 😂 and would be chuffed just to have a longer luteal phase!

But I do agree @Wise0wl with what you have said about testing, I think I’m going to find it quite triggering and I probably won’t be feeling quite so zen like when I’m POAS at 6am tomorrow 😂 yes we are cycle twins, I think the colostrum and cramps are a very positive sign, got my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼although I know what you mean about trying not to symptom spot x

Wise0wl · 31/10/2023 22:20

@Aaliyahrae I’m totally with you with worrying about the age gap and wasting time. Though thinking clearly I know that a close age gap doesn’t necessarily mean that siblings will be close to one another! How old is your DC?

I’m on CD25, but going to hold my nerve and not test til the weekend, I think. I used Clear Blue ovulation tests which, though expensive, feel a bit less overwhelming for me to do than OPKs and temping etc - though I admire everyone who does those.

Oxalis00 · 31/10/2023 22:19

You sound very pragmatic about things @Aaliyahrae - I’m impressed! I get obsessive and hopeful even if we didn’t have sex much 🤦🏻‍♀️ TBF conceived my daughter by DTD once on CD12 so 🤷🏻‍♀️🤪

Currently CD13 and think I had peak OPK today so will see what temps show over the next few days. Then waiting…!

Aaliyahrae · 31/10/2023 22:15

@Wise0wl It is! Where abouts are you in your cycle? I see you’re in your TWW. Did you track ovulation to know what day you’re on?

@Haylsttc thank you, it’s just so unlikely because we have literally barley had sex and when we did, it was right at the beginning when I had just come off my period, tested last week and it was negative. Last week we done it again a couple of times but he didn’t finish so not much use to me (ttc wise anyway lol!). Not too fussed if it’s not positive this month because I didn’t put in any effort. I’ll be ready and back in action for next month! How are you feeling about this cycle?

Aaliyahrae · 31/10/2023 22:12

@Oxalis00 yes mine is definitely the weight of the time wasted too! I keep thinking about how excited I was to have a little baby in the new year and the lovely age gap between my kids but everything seems so blurry right now. I feel so silly because I’ve not been TTC that long and feel bad because Where abouts in your cycle are you?

@Ladyinpink1 omg I’ve had them walk in too! So awkward. How are you? Did you enjoy your break? (Sorry if I got this wrong, I’m pretty sure you said you were going away!)

Haylsttc · 31/10/2023 21:26

@Vic231 I test once a day and then when the lines start getting darker I test twice a day! If your cycles are short then maybe you did have a quick surge, definitely worth keep testing for a few days just in case 😊

@Aaliyahrae sorry to hear that you’re feeling down! Don’t rule yourself out completely until AF shows, you never know 🤷‍♀️

@Ladyinpink1 that’s good to know thank you, still should have over a week to go until AF then! This cycle has dragged so much with ovulation being delayed 😓

Wise0wl · 31/10/2023 20:42

That’s completely how I feel @Ladyinpink1. I was so blindsided by my MMC that initially I wasn’t sure I wanted to try for another baby to rule out having to go through it again, but here we are.

Am trying not to symptom spot, have got some sort of pre-AF cramps this evening but also seem to be producing a bit of colostrum, which is weird. So not sure what to think…

I’m sorry @Aaliyahrae - the uncertainty is rubbish isn’t it x

Ladyinpink1 · 31/10/2023 20:25

Hi @Vic231 Yes a surge for a day and then down again is possible... but keep testing just incase it's going to be a late ovulation. Sometimes my pos opks are 2 days or sometimes only 1/2 a day x

Just read your message @Haylsttc Thank you, I will check them out too... and your lp should be the same length as normal so if you ovulated on cd21 add your normal lp length onto that and it should be your cycle length this month. Sorry you haven't been well, I hope you don't feel too poorly x

@Aaliyahrae I'm sorry you aren't feeling good about things and how anoying for you not knowing where you are in your cycle. Hope things get clearer for you soon. And yes our dc have walked in and killed the mood a good few times, it's frustrating especially when you know it's the right time but you can't push it too much with the dh ahhhh why is it so tough for us. lol x

Oxalis00 · 31/10/2023 20:19

Yes it was me @Ladyinpink1 but I’ve never tried wondfo so maybe @Haylsttc is onto something!

Sorry you’re feeling miserable @Aaliyahrae - the emotional toll of TTC is huge. I’ve also found the pressure around DTD at the right time is no fun at all, and gets in the way for DH, and it’s hard to keep sane about it. I know people say take the pressure off but I just feel the weight of all this time wasted! Every time another month going by…

Ladyinpink1 · 31/10/2023 20:13

@Wise0wl You dont have long to find out then, hoping for good news! Yes I know what you mean, I keep hoping to fall pregnant but then the thought of when I do fall pregnant fills me with dread at having to go through the fear and loss again x

Thank you @Oxalis00 that sounds familiar, maybe it was you who recommended previously to me 🙂 I am going to order for next cycle. Yes I think one step is what I was using up. x

Hey all & all the new joiners!
So many messages I can’t catch up on but I hope everyone is well! Where abouts is everyone in their cycles? I haven’t got a clue where I am. Tested last week and it was negative. I’ve had some cramps the last few days so I’m assuming AF will be coming soon but I’m not tracking and haven’t got a clue when it’s due because my cycles have been all over the place since my MMC. Doubt I’m pregnant this month as I’ve barely had sex, and OH struggled to finish (sorry tmi) a couple of times because he could hear the kids playing (quickie before he left for work lol) and I’ve been miserable. I’m going to buy some ovulation tests for next month and make myself feel better.

Vic231 · 31/10/2023 13:34

Thank you @Haylsttc I think I'll keep testing (to use up these strips and not buy anymore 😂) and see what the rest say... how often do you test a day? My cycles are actually pretty short - 21-23 days so i wouldn't be surprised if it surged on Sunday, the one day I didn't test! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Haylsttc · 31/10/2023 13:26

@Vic231 aw sorry to hear that! My partner isn’t a fan of the ovulation testing either, he knows I do it but I don’t tell him when peak is but I make sure we’ve hit the right dates without giving him the added pressure.

For me personally the day before peak is where the test line is almost the same colour as the control line, then peak day the test line is darker and then the day after peak is almost the same colour as control again. Although LH surges are different for everyone and some people do have a rapid surge I would keep testing (if you want to) as i’m not sure if you’ve hit peak yet.

I didn’t use opks last month but I wasn’t a fan of the not knowing 😂 but I would say if you don’t like them then ditch them, best to put your mental health first 😊

Haylsttc · 31/10/2023 13:02

@Bali200 @Ladyinpink1 thanks for checking in, I’m cycle day 24 today but I didn’t ovulate until cycle day 21 which is really late for me, I’ve no idea what’s going on! Worrying though as my cycles are usually only 28 or 29 days long so if that stays the same this month my luteal phase is going to be so short.

I also think I have Covid, symptoms started on cycle day 22 and i’m really unwell with it so that combined with the late ovulation makes me not feel very hopeful for this cycle 😔

@Bali200 I’ve never had the heaviness feeling but I’ve got my fingers crossed that it’s a good sign for you especially with your temps still being high!

@Ladyinpink1 I used Wondfo tests this cycle and I would recommend them! The control line is nice and dark so I think they give a more accurate result when comparing the test line. Whereas the last batch of easy at homes I’ve had the dye has been rubbish on them. I’ve linked the ones below I used

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wondfo-Ovulation-Accurate-Predictor-Pregnant/dp/B09T75WP5W/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=3GDEVU43PLHR8&keywords=wondfo+ovulation+test+strips&qid=1698756859&sprefix=wondfo+ov%2Caps%2C124&sr=8-4

@Wise0wl I completely feel what you said about being scared to get a negative test but then scared to get a positive too! It’s so hard knowing the anxiety won’t go away regardless of a positive test 😫
