Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

@ThelastRolo20 I've actually got a wedding to go to a couple of days before my period is due, so I at least won't just spend the weekend right before then being tempted to test early. I've told my husband that under no circumstances should he allow me to test unless my period doesn't show up when I'm expecting it! AF is due near the end of the month so at least after that we're getting into the Christmas season and there are lots of things to keep busy with. If I do have to spend the next cycle TTC then hopefully it'll go a bit quicker than this one has! Think this one has dragged a lot particularly because of being the first one after my MC.

ThelastRolo20 · 14/11/2023 10:26

@CluelessInLondon all you can do is try! Fingers crossed it works out but maybe plan something nice to do around the time AF would arrive just in case? I'm the same, so keen to get pregnant again as soon as possible but we have such little control over it x

CluelessInLondon · 14/11/2023 10:24

@Aaliyahrae Will you have any more scans before you get to 12 weeks?

I'm feeling pretty positive about this cycle, obviously have no way of knowing how it's gone for a couple of weeks yet but feel like we've given ourselves as good a chance as possible! I was away over the weekend so was super-conscious of missing opportunities, but we managed to DTD Friday morning and Sunday night. Needed a night off last night as I was really tired from my busy weekend, but I've already told my husband that tonight is non-negotiable. He is obviously devastated about all this extra sex. 😂I figure if I'm ovulating today then after tonight there's no need to be militant about it as it's not likely to make a difference - so we can chill out a bit! I do worry a bit though that I might be pinning too much hope on getting pregnant again really quickly after my MC - you read so many stories about people getting pregnant straight away and it's really easy to assume it will happen to you, so I'm trying not to assume anything in case I end up being completely crushed in a couple of weeks' time.

Aaliyahrae · 13/11/2023 21:51

@ThelastRolo20 - My cycles were all over the place too after my MC. I hope yours start settling into place soon. I know you said you think you’ve ovulated

@Oxalis00 - It is scary thinking that a MC messes up your cycles somehow. I felt the exact same. After mine, my periods were ridiculously heavy and so so painful and I had weird pain during my cycle so I assumed something was wrong too! I also had spotting mid cycle last month. Chances are, your body is ok and just healing. Where abouts in your cycle are you?

@Ladyinpink1 I’m sorry to hear that AF has visited. How are you feeling?

@Wise0wl - how are you feeling? I know it’s so nerve wrecking waiting for an appointment. I know you said you don’t have many symptoms but you are still early symptoms can just pop at any time. I had spotting in all of my pregnancies (except this one). Never found a cause but I had a cervical examination before my MC that showed an Ectropion which can apparently get worse with hormones and cause bleeding and apparently it’s very common so maybe it’s due to that. Let us know how your appt goes.

@SnookyPook - Lol that your hubby can sense the fertility period! His sense of humour makes it feel so much easier , my OH is scared to death of me around ovulation & It is so difficult but I agree, sometimes you just need to try (very hard because it’s so hard) and take a break to just enjoy sex without symptom spotting, planning, tracking etc. It is so difficult to do this because I know ttc is always kind of on your mind. If it’s any help, I tried to find other ways to be intimate with my OH this month. Oral / foreplay (TMI! Sorry) instead of PIV, massages, relaxing together, having showers together because he found it to regimented and maybe the relaxing helped me to ovulate and helped get my BFP. No idea, I always got angry seeing people write that as if it was that easy but I know my own mental health needed a break from tracking and panicking that I had missed O - but I definitely agree on having a break if your mind needs one!

@Bali200 - How are you feeling? Congrats on your 3+. I’ve always been way too scared to take one of those tests so I’ve only done a couple of PT this time round and not touched anymore. Any new symptoms? I feel the same about the going through it for ‘nothing’. It is so scary being pregnant again after a MC.

@SunSparkle - Sorry to hear you’re feeling under the weather. You might feel ok to do it once you’re in bed near your OH, even if it’s just a calm on your side quickie lol but jokes aside, of course don’t force yourself if you really aren’t feeling too well! If you DTD yesterday then there is probably sperm waiting which I’m sure is the most important thing and then you’ve still covered all bases. I hated the timing too, all the sex was nice but the planning was hard and I’d get so stressed if I missed a day!

@CluelessInLondon - thank you so much. I’m so so scared still but trying to think positive and remember that this is out of my control and I don’t want to spend everyday crying and anxious. So glad you got your positive OPK! Nearly in the 2WW. How are you feeling about this month? Are you going to try and DTD everyday for the next week or every other day? Or just for the next couple of days?

Sorry if I’ve missed anyone else - if I haven’t mentioned you.. how are you and whereabouts in your cycle are you?

moosey89 · 13/11/2023 21:17

@SunSparkle last time I got pregnant I only DTD once that month, the day after my positive ovulation test (in the evening too!) x

CluelessInLondon · 13/11/2023 20:17

@SunSparkle Snap, I got my positive OPK today as well. I figure if it's 12-24 hours afterwards then that means I'll most likely ovulate tomorrow, which means the egg will still be hanging around at bedtime tomorrow. I know what you mean about wanting to give yourself the best possible chance - but I think yesterday and tomorrow gives you a good shot. You've got to have a rest every now and again!

@Aaliyahrae That's such lovely news about your scan - even though it's early days it's great to hear things are going well so far.

graceinc22 · 13/11/2023 19:03

@SunSparkle i am currently under an nhs fertility clinic (for ovulation induction), and they recommend having sex every other day x

SunSparkle · 13/11/2023 17:59

@SnookyPook your DH made me laugh!

got a positive ovulation test result today. We DTD yesterday but I feel so full of cold today. But I also want to give this cycle a good shot! Our fertility blood tests and sperm tests are on Thursday this week too.

will it be too late if I wait til tomorrow to DTD? Just feeling like a good nights sleep will sort me out. I really hate the whole timings thing with TTC. Feels very unromantic

Aaliyahrae · 13/11/2023 16:59

Hi everyone, I’ve not caught up on messages yet so I hope everyone is well. I’ll have a read over them when I’m in from work.

Had a scan today. Measuring just under 6 weeks, everything in place and even saw a tiny heartbeat. Not getting my hopes up after last time as we saw the heartbeat before but feeling quite positive now and have lots of symptoms!

I’ll read the update on everyone’s situations soon! xx

Wise0wl · 13/11/2023 15:40

@Bali200 they’ve said they’ll do an early scan so not sure about bloods, maybe it depends on the scan?

and yes - @SnookyPook it feels like the lost pregnancies never happened for everyone else and like it’s in our heads, which is definitely not healthy. I caught myself saying to a friend the other day ‘I had that in both my pregnancies’ and of course they were confused because they didn’t know about the second one… wishing you lots of luck for this month!

SnookyPook · 13/11/2023 15:22

@Oxalis00 I know right! Haha maybe I could hire him out and we could have our own fertility app side hustle 😂

@Bali200 that sounds really positive. Absolutely get you on the first trimester for nothing comment! I realised after my most recent loss that I've been pregnant for almost 20 weeks this year and nothing to show for it! And just having to keep redoing the absolute worst weeks of pregnancy on repeat. It's so disheartening!

Bali200 · 13/11/2023 14:28

Thanks @Wise0wl it’s a relief to see it’s now progressed to 3+ as it was seeming to be sticking at 2-3 for longer than it should, however it’s easy to forget that they’re not 100% accurate. Will they take your bloods at the EPU on Friday? This should hopefully be more accurate and will help to put your mind at ease.

I have quite a lot of symptoms already, earlier than last time with my MMC. I keep thinking to myself that I really hope this one sticks around as it’ll be so shitty to keep going through the first trimester for ‘nothing’ 😓 x

Oxalis00 · 13/11/2023 14:15

Thanks for the support everyone! Appreciate your attempts at hope but pretty sure this is AF though - I’ll let you know when I take my mooncup out later 🤪 It’s been a busy and nice few days so I’m not feeling too bad/sad at the moment, but I am wondering whether to see GP about light periods and see if there’s any fertility checks they can do. I conceived second cycle for my DD, second cycle for CP earlier this year and first cycle after that for MMC so I’m into unknown territory now. I realise it’s massively lucky and perhaps quite unusual to have been so quick previously but it does make me wonder if something has changed.

LOL @SnookyPook looking spotty and fertile! How flattering…! Who needs PreMom when your DH is so attuned 👏🏼

Wise0wl · 13/11/2023 13:36

@Bali200 congrats on your 3+! How are you doing? Thank you for sharing - obvs the peace of mind of tests getting darker/increasing weeks is great but they also cause so much anxiety (I’ve spent way too long googling about it this morn…) Yep I’ve had spotting before with my successful pregnancy, but I guess the problem with pregnancy loss is it makes you doubt everything!

Bali200 · 13/11/2023 13:16

So sorry that AF reared her ugly head for you @Ladyinpink1, I hope this cycle is more successful for you x

@Wise0wl I have literally just got my 3+ after being a bit stressed about this the past few days, I didn’t think it was progressing like it should but hopefully you’ll get your 3+ soon and the spotting is nothing to worry about too as il sure you said you’ve also had this in previous pregnancies? X

SnookyPook · 13/11/2023 11:12

@Ladyinpink1 sorry AF is here.. onto a fresh cycle. @Oxalis00 you're still in with a chance.. keeping everything crossed for you.

Hubby this morning: "You're looking spotty and fertile" (with suggestive eyebrow raise) 😂 Things you only hear when TTC. Although of course this month we're not. Which is feeling weird now that I know I seem to be close to ovulation. Happy that it seems my body must have got back in the groove of things quite quickly though. It feels crazy 'wasting' a cycle, but at the same time, I think my MH needs a month off from symptom spotting and worrying about it all. A BFP would even be a worry at this point tbh so I'm just going to chill and focus on being healthy and happy for now...

Good luck to everyone else. Hope everyone is holding up ok. X

Wise0wl · 13/11/2023 10:59

I’ve been lurking in the background, sorry to hear about your spotting @Oxalis00 (fwiw I had spotting for both my successful pregnancy and this pregnancy but not for my MMC, so you never know) and that AF is here @Ladyinpink1, I hope you’re doing ok x

I don’t really have any symptoms, did a clear blue weeks digi and only got 2-3 weeks and still have light pink spotting so I don’t have very high hopes, but I have my EPU appointment on Friday so will see what they say and let you all know x

CluelessInLondon · 13/11/2023 09:46

@ThelastRolo20 Just thinking about the conversation you had with your neighbour, I wonder if people just assume that if you've already got a child, there can't possibly be any issue with having another one so it's fine to ask - there's definitely a naivety about miscarriage and I think people assume that it only happens to people who are trying for their first baby. I don't have any kids and nobody ever asks me if I'm planning on having any!

@Ladyinpink1 I'm partly sorry to hear your period has come, but also glad to hear you can get ready for another cycle - it's a strange dynamic isn't it, on the one hand you don't want your period to arrive, but on the other if you aren't pregnant you just want to be able to crack on with the next cycle!

@Oxalis00 Sorry to hear about the spotting - have you tried taking a test yet, or will you just wait to see if your period arrives?

I'm due to ovulate any day now so I'm impatiently waiting to do my next OPK - got a flashing smiley on a digital one yesterday morning, then promptly forgot to do one when I got up this morning because I was really tired. 😂 Now trying to wait another hour or two before I pee again so I can do it then!

Gem0302 · 13/11/2023 08:15

Sorry to hear about the spotting @Oxalis00 but like others have said it could be implantation🤞🏼.

@Ladyinpink1 i read you were waiting on AF to start, how long has this cycle been for you? Are you going to do anything differently this cycle?

I took a couple of days away from socials, the last cycle hit me hard and panic set in. Didn’t help that my scan got cancelled and now I have to wait another week. It’s now scheduled for Friday which will be my predicted ovulation day. I wonder how much they can actually see.

ThelastRolo20 · 13/11/2023 06:52

@Ladyinpink1 i don't think I'm pregnant to be honest, I had a rummage around to check out cervical mucus and bumped (!) Into my cervix 😂 did some reading on line and both point towards heading to a period. Which I'm okay with as the chances were so low.

So just waiting for it to arrive which should happen in the next week then I can start afresh

Ladyinpink1 · 13/11/2023 06:28

Hi @Oxalis00 Sorry about the spotting, hopefully it's not af as rollo said but I understand how it feels.
My period started this morning and so I'm onto cycle 3 since my most recent loss (also over a year since starting) and of the 4 times we conceived, 2 of the times it happened right away, the other 2 times it took 5 cycles (we didn't do anything differently) so I know it can feel that way but I don't think there is anything wrong with you at all, just some cycles are longer 💜

@ThelastRolo20 5 or 6dpo is great, will you test or wait for AF? Do you still have all of those symptoms from the other day? x

How is everyone else doing?
I think someone with a bfp had an appointment today? But I can't remember who, sorry, I hope all goes well for it! xx

ThelastRolo20 · 12/11/2023 20:03

@Oxalis00 have you done a test yet? Could well be implantation bleeding, so you never know!

If it's not, and AF is on the way try not to worry about the time. Two months is super quick, and having that happen twice is very rare! Really normal to take a few tries so don't get disheartened.

Having looked at my symptoms from earlier in the week to now, I reckon I've already ovulated (early in the week), so unofficially calling myself 5/6 DPO. I'm just looking forward to an outcome either way!

Oxalis00 · 12/11/2023 18:10

11DPO here and having some light spotting (CD25) which seems to be my new normal before a period since the MC 😖 Not thrilled about this! 😭 I know it hasn’t been long in the grand scheme of things (2 cycles trying since MC, though a year since we started) but I’ve always conceived within 1 or 2 cycles before so this is new and I’m worrying about whether something has gone wrong in my body since the MC, and/or whether age is hitting differently now (38).

Ladyinpink1 · 12/11/2023 07:17

That's frustrating for you not knowing either way. I hope it's good news for you but if it isn't, I hope that your first cycle is a nice regular (fertile) one 😊 @ThelastRolo20 x

ThelastRolo20 · 12/11/2023 07:01

When I say weren't getting stronger, they weren't blank and were likely on the way up, but just not quick enough for my impatient liking 😂 as I was having funny symptoms I actually did an OPK yesterday and it was back to completely blank so I tentatively think I have ovulated early this week, so I'm maybe 5 DPO if I had to guess? But who knows after a miscarriage
