Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

Just realised I tagged the wrong person @CluelessInLondon sorry, I'm not well so my head is a bit fuzzy, i just read your posts that you might test tomorrow ? How are you feeling today? x

And it was you I meant to tag @SunSparkle congratulations that's very exciting 🎊 Around 8 -9 weeks both times was when the babies stopped growing for me too so I understand a scan just after that time will be a good milestone to hit for you and to focus on, hoping that you are feeling ok and these next weeks go in fast! x

That sounds dreadful @Aaliyahrae I'm sorry you are so unwell and really hope they find something that works today x

Amazing news @SunSparkle, congratulations 🌈 x

Aaliyahrae · 26/11/2023 22:58

@CluelessInLondon Ah! It is so hard when it’s after a MC and your body is all over the place. Got everything crossed for you - the next two days will probably feel really slow. I used a boots test and it seems lots of others have used them too with quite clear results! Keep us updated!

I agree about the different EPU’s. I’m bang in the middle of two hospitals and the one I use the most has been amazing. They offer a post miscarriage scan at 6 weeks and another follow up at 8, 9 or 10 weeks you just have to have it 2-4 weeks after your 6 week scan (mine is this week) so you have 2 scans! I also had 2 calls after my miscarriage to make sure all was well. The other hospital, apparently, offer nothing unless you’ve had multiple recorded miscarriages. xx

@SunSparkle That must have been so hard! You do have this assumption that because you have sickness you’re somewhat ‘safe’. Pregnancy is such a terrifying time! Always here to chat if you ever feel scared or just need to get any feelings off your chest because I know how scary it is after a MC. xx

SunSparkle · 26/11/2023 21:24

@Aaliyahrae I really hope you can get a medication that works better for you. It's so debilitating. I will be 8 weeks on Christmas day so I think i will book one just before so I can calm down over christmas and then one around 10ish weeks because my last pregnancy stopped growing at 9 weeks but I didn't find out until 12. Part of what emotionally destroyed me was knowing that I couldn't trust my body as my sickness for those 3 weeks was still off the scale bad and yet, the pregnancy wasn't progressing. It was a really really hard time when everyone says 'having sickness is good - at least you know something is happening' and it wasn't true. So I think having one just after that dreaded 9 week mark, although it doesn't guarantee everything will be ok at the 12 week mark, will reassure me a little bit.

CluelessInLondon · 26/11/2023 20:59

@Aaliyahrae This was my first cycle trying post-MC and it was the first time I used OPKs. Previously I used an app to track periods and estimate ovulation but was quite chill about whether or not it happened, but after the MC I felt so confused about what my body was doing that I thought using OPKs would really help me to understand what was going on - obviously you can't control it, but I felt reassured by it and it meant I felt like we were timing the BDing right to give us a good chance. I told my husband I'd wait till Wednesday to test but if there's no AF by tomorrow afternoon I might pop out and get some tests and then do one on Tuesday morning...!

@SunSparkle That's a shame that your EPU won't routinely do early scans for women who have had a previous loss - it seems really variable depending on the hospital. It feels really unfair that some women have to pay for private scans and others can get them at EPU.

Aaliyahrae · 26/11/2023 20:48

@graceinc22 I hope not! I ended up in hospital dehydrated with my son but with him, by 9 weeks, I literally couldn’t even lift my head up without gagging and finally started feeling better around 20/22 weeks. I was on bed rest until I was 24 weeks because I was so sick and I honestly cannot do that again this time - I don’t think I’ll cope especially with 2 other kids. How are you feeling? x

@SunSparkle Bless you! I know the feeling as my sickness does too! I didn’t have any sickness with my MC so when I got pregnant again I was like oh I can’t wait to feel sick but this has knocked me for 10. When are you likely to book a scan? Around Christmas? x

SunSparkle · 26/11/2023 20:31

@CluelessInLondon thankyou. When I had my miscarriage she said EPU wouldn’t normally do reassurance scans but if I fibbed and said I had the symptoms of ectopic pregnancy around six weeks they would! She was just trying to be kind during a really shitty time.

@Aaliyahrae ive still got tons of medication from the pregnancy I lost so going to start on those about 5 weeks as my sickness starts at 5.5-6 weeks and continues to about 20 weeks. I went through 7 meds last time until I got one that vaguely worked (and that was different to the one I used in my first pregnancy). Also look into B1 and B6 and magnesium supplementation. Unfortunately hyperemesis comes back for 75% of women who have it in a previous pregnancy so I know it’s super likely.

the meds that work best for me (but still aren’t perfect) make me really drowsy for about the first 4 weeks of taking them. You have to acclimate to them.

graceinc22 · 26/11/2023 20:18

@Aaliyahrae that sounds absolutely horrendous - hope the doctor can give some proper help tomorrow. Do you think you’re dehydrated? X

Aaliyahrae · 26/11/2023 20:14

@CluelessInLondon I remember that feeling! Are you testing tomorrow or going to leave it a couple of days? Ah I have everything crossed for you. Did you try anything new this cycle? xx

CluelessInLondon · 26/11/2023 19:50

@Aaliyahrae I'm alright, just both kind of excited and kind of terrified to see whether AF shows up tomorrow! Really hoping the bits and pieces of symptoms I've been having over the last two or three days are a good sign, but I don't want to get carried away and then end up disappointed. I guess everyone on this thread knows that feeling.

Aaliyahrae · 26/11/2023 19:44

@CluelessInLondon thank you! I just want to shut my eyes and feel better. Feel ridiculous. How are you?

CluelessInLondon · 26/11/2023 19:20

Oh no @Aaliyahrae , sorry to hear the medication isn't working - really hope you can get something that works better tomorrow.

Aaliyahrae · 26/11/2023 19:14

@SunSparkle congratulations!! I know the sickness is very scary. Can you speak to your GP about starting meds now?

Came on here to check to see how everyone is getting on. How are you all?
I am so unwell. On medication but it isn’t doing much so will go back and see if I can get a different prescription on Monday. Cannot even keep water down, I feel really poorly and I’m so thirsty. Currently having to stick my tongue in glasses of weak squash but not actually full on swallow so I’m not sick! Counting down the days to feel normal again.

Sending my love and positivity to all those in/entering their TWW. I’ll pop in again soon. xxx

Ladyinpink1 · 26/11/2023 19:09

Oh woah lovely news, @CluelessInLondon and you were right about the nausea! 🙂congratulations! 🎊 x

CluelessInLondon · 26/11/2023 19:05

@SunSparkle How exciting, congratulations! Keeping fingers crossed for you that this is a sticky bean. ❤ Do you have a local EPU/EGU where they would scan you early because of the previous loss?

SunSparkle · 26/11/2023 18:59

CD28 and I said I wouldn’t test until Monday but I tested today and got a BFP.

I used the boots early response tests as couldn’t get the first response ones.

im very nervous and just going to take each day as it comes. Probably get a couple of private scans booked in. It’s hard after loss to just feel excited. And I’m dreading the return of the hyperemesis. But also grateful to have the chance to get a BFP. Lots of conflicting emotions.

Ladyinpink1 · 26/11/2023 07:37

First response have came on Amazon guys. Only thing is delivery isn't until 16th December x

Cd1 of ttc first cycle after loss... anyone want to join me? 🙂

Ladyinpink1 · 25/11/2023 18:27

@Haylsttc I read that wrong, you said your peak was today cd 16 so an even day x

OP posts:
Ladyinpink1 · 25/11/2023 18:25

@Haylsttc if your peak is on an uneven day of your cycle the same as mine, I think that means we will end up dtd 4 days in a row 🥱
We dtd yesterday as it was meant to be one of the every other days then this morning as day 1 of the 3 so need to do tomorrow plus monday, break on Tuesday then Wed. Is that right? x

@CluelessInLondon Tuesday isn't far away! Although I'm sure it feels ages away for you, after ovulation I find time goes in slow motion x

OP posts:
CluelessInLondon · 25/11/2023 17:38

@Ladyinpink1 @Haylsttc AF due on Monday so I'm going to test if no period by Tuesday. My last period was the first after MC as well so I don't totally trust what my cycle is doing yet either!

ThelastRolo20 · 25/11/2023 16:28

@Oxalis00 I have a rapid peak and decline without much, if any, warning so keep testing. It's annoying as I'd rather have a bit of notice to at least put my mind at rest 😂 hopefully our peaks come soon

Haylsttc · 25/11/2023 14:59

@ThelastRolo20 I’m glad to hear AF has finally stopped, hopefully you’re opks will get darker over the next few days 🤞

@Ladyinpink1 I got my peak today too, cycle day 16 for me so ovulation should be tomorrow cycle day 17 😊 Hoping we can keep up with SMEP for the next few days 😂 I am feeling really hopeful for this cycle though!

@Oxalis00 hopefully you get peak soon! Last cycle I didn’t ovulate until cycle day 21 when ovulation for me is normally around cycle day 15, 16 or 17, no idea why it happened but it was very frustrating 🙄

@SunSparkle ah I’ve got my fingers crossed for a positive for you! Hoping to see lots of bfp this month for us all 🫶

@CluelessInLondon I don’t think it’s too early, I’ve seen other people on MN say they experience symptoms early on 😊 when is AF due for you?

Ladyinpink1 · 25/11/2023 14:23

@ThelastRolo20 it has felt slow for me too. That's good the bleeding has stopped in time before your peak. x

@Oxalis00 mine went suddenly dark this morning without a build up so could still come tonight or tomorrow for you x

@SunSparkle That's great you have made it to cd27 without af. Negatives are so tough, hoping for good news for you soon. x

@CluelessInLondon I don't think it's too early, hormones start changing right away so it could be! What day is test day/af due day? x

OP posts:
CluelessInLondon · 25/11/2023 10:30

@Ladyinpink1 Good news on the positive OPK! Glad the new tests are nice and clear too, there's only so long you want to spend staring at lines to work out if they're dark enough.

@ThelastRolo20 Glad to hear your period seems to finally be done - maybe as you're not that long past your MC it was still clearing a bit of older lining? Agree the waiting is such a drag - and we're pretty much always waiting for something at every point in the cycle!

@Oxalis00 Fingers crossed for ovulation for you soon!

@SunSparkle That all sounds encouraging, and good plan not to keep testing over the weekend - enjoy some downtime!

I'm 11DPO today and woke up at 3.30 this morning feeling really nauseous, like I was about to throw up. Really weird and I've only ever felt like that in early pregnancy, although it feels a bit soon to have that sort of symptom - but then I don't think I can be symptom spotting when I'm asleep! Sticking to my plan not to test until AF is due and trying not to get carried away by any gut feeling...

SunSparkle · 25/11/2023 09:58

I’m now CD 27 which is pretty unexpected for me. Cycles normally 23-25 days. I’m only 11dpo so I’ve taken a few tests and they’ve been negative but it normally takes until 14dpo for me to get a positive.

cautiously optimistic but trying not to get my hopes up.

going to try and not test until Monday as I’m driving myself mad.
