Hi everyone,

3dpo ovulation today and experiencing a very sharp pinching pain in my left ovary, have done most of today but really noticing it tonight while I'm sat down.

I know implantation hasn't happened yet but wondered if anyone else has experienced anything this early that they wouldn't class as normal for their non pregnant/ttc cycles?

Think I'm at the beginning of the driving myself insane path with this 🙃

DoloresOnTheDottedLine · 20/09/2023 08:46

Very sorry that this wasn’t your month @hicketypickety and crossing everything that October is your lucky one. I haven’t experienced it so can only imagine how much harder TTC is mentally and emotionally after a previous loss. Sending you strength.

hicketypickety · 20/09/2023 08:36

Well AF arrived yesterday.... so onwards and upwards for October. I've Felt unusually emotional this week I think because it's exactly a year since the first miscarriage and I was so hopeful that I'd fall pregnant again and it would be fine, as it turns out I did and it wasn't so bit of a weird mix of feelings. But I have to stay positive. Sending luck to everyone and extra support to those going through difficult journeys.

Hi first time on here please forgive if I post in the wrong place 🫣🫣🫣

We have been trying for with 1 unsuccessful round if IVF and ICSI and iv got stage 3 endo and currently waiting for our next egg collection and next round its been a journey to get here. So I am not one to jump to conclusions and im past the point of hoping each much I catch naturally its been a long while since iv done that...until now!!!!!!!! As I said I have endometriosis and my periods are regular give or take a day or two. However this month im 5 days early and 10 days past ovulation my peiod is very different almost like water, to give some context my usual period is 7days long and extremely heavy having to alwasy use superplus tampon with 2 towels and unable to walk because of the level of pain so this is like night and day for me.

does this sound like it could be implantation?

I dont even know if someone with endo would have implantation....any advise would be much appreciated dont want to let my mind/hopes and wishes to run away with themselves 🥰🥰🥰

We DTD yesterday evening and I couldn’t stop myself lying down with my legs up afterwards even though I’ve read it’s probably pointless! It felt good to be doing something to “help,” even if doesn’t really. Also a good chance for a quiet scroll through mumsnet whilst DP got up to unload the dishwasher 😉.

TTCnewbies · 20/09/2023 07:43

@beaniesunrise haha that is exactly what we've been laughing about. Honestly I'm 30 I should absolutely know this stuff, I'm very mature!! But I guess you just ask all the stupid stuff when DTD. Tbh we tend to use condoms mainly for the mess! But obviously we can't now.

beaniesunrise · 20/09/2023 07:38

@justkeepswimming2701 @MrsHousePlant @spacewitch10 @Sleepysheepish Hello Welcome to all of you! 😊

@TTCnewbies When I researched this last time, online read that it was a myth but I still did it lol it said 15mins of laying down after dtd, not necessarily putting your legs up, was supposed to help. However, I also read that it happens instantly so we don’t need to stay laying down. Sperm can live in the body for 3-5 days afterwards anyway. I recall still laying down, and it kind of became a joke for dh and myself when I’d mention it afterwards 😂

I researched. Not sure how to explain it but I think what comes out, is not the sperm! Most of them have already all long gone up. Sorry for TMI! They separate from it very quickly and immediately start swimming, like within less than a second but obviously they’re microscopic so you wouldn’t see or know that they’d all separated.

Thanks, this is reassuring! They just don't teach you all of this in school.

Sleepysheepish · 19/09/2023 23:27

Can I join too?

Currently trying to conceive #2, I have an 18 month old DD.

It’s been a weird time as I was heavily on the fence since DD was born, I always wanted 2 but DD wasn’t the easiest baby and she still doesn’t sleep great. And then me and DH had some issues, adjusting to being a parent was hard for him, things are better now but I’m still a little nervous #2 could cause issues to resurface. But I’m 36 so I can’t say exactly wait!

I stopped the pill around 5 weeks ago, got my hormones tested, which is how I found out I have low AMH. I’m now waiting to ovulate, I tend to have longer cycles, waiting for ovulation can be torturous. Hoping I’ll ovulate before the end of October though!

It’d be awesome to be able to share the journey with others who understand how hard it can be :)

TMI question but I guess we can ask everything here?!
But seriously... after DTD obviously the sperm all leaks out. I've heard the legs in the air thing (which may or may not work?!) But how on earth do you keep the sperm inside and how long do you lie there. It genuinely feels like it all leaks out straight away. Obvs this hasn't been an issue before thinking about TTC.

Hello, I hope it's ok to jump on this thread!
I've just turned 37 and currently 2dpo cycle #1 of trying. We dtd 3 days before ovulation... so not sure I caught this time.
Never had a problem with getting pregnant before (both times very quick but I was 26 & 32)
Obviously age and timing of dtd has got me worried as to whether I'll be successful this time.
Has anyone in this group fallen pregnant 3 days before ovulation?!

Good luck to everyone ✨

beaniesunrise · 18/09/2023 20:47

@DoloresOnTheDottedLine so much strength you have, prayers for you and hope everything goes smoothly as you wish ✨

September is just flying by!! I’m probably going to be feeling the opposite when I enter TWW lol
Even waiting for AF makes me feel like “come on” 😂

@DoloresOnTheDottedLine I hope all goes well. Sorry you're having to go through so much. Praying for the little eggy to cook nicely 🙏

DoloresOnTheDottedLine · 18/09/2023 17:49

@TTCnewbies i’m exactly the same - it’s all I think about!

I am now CD9 and had a scan this morning to check on progress of Clomid induced ovulation. There’s one dominant follicle on my right ovary which is good news as if there were more than two, I would have had to sit this month out due to the risk of multiples. Got another scan on Friday to see how that little eggy is cooking! Then it’s an injection in the stomach to stimulate it to release.

Sending eggy thoughts to everyone!

TTCnewbies · 18/09/2023 16:29

I find myself so consumed by it all! I can't make time go any quicker of course. Good luck all.

MrsHousePlant · 17/09/2023 23:18

Popping in to say hello! TTC #1.

Currently feeling really lousy with a cold, AF is about to finish so fertile week is approaching. I’m just furious to be ill as I want my body to focus on getting pregnant not recovering from seasonal illnesses. Hopefully I have time as ovulation is predicted for next weekend. I’ll be using CB ovulation tests again this cycle.

Sending luck to you all! ✨

hicketypickety · 17/09/2023 22:37

99% sure AF is on her way for me. Onwards and upwards!! Good luck to everyone for October Flowers

DoloresOnTheDottedLine · 17/09/2023 21:30

Good luck to everyone 🍀!

Katie276 · 17/09/2023 21:21

Fingers crossed for everyone 😊 just about to start cycle 2!

TTCnewbies · 17/09/2023 21:17

Ah good luck all.
I'm at the end of my AF. App predicting a window of next weekend for a week so we will try to DTD as much as possible over that week. It's our first time trying so I'm not getting my hopes up.

beaniesunrise · 17/09/2023 18:19

Ah waiting for AF expected tomorrow then to start first cycle of trying following, fingers crossed for everyone

justkeepswimming2701 · 14/09/2023 14:30

Hi - hoping I can join too?

I’m 31 and TTC number 2. I have a 2.8 year old daughter already who took 6 months to conceive. Currently on cycle 7, day 4, and really hoping this is our month 🤞

Good luck to you all!

MixedCouple · 14/09/2023 14:20

@TTCnewbies well no one knows exactly when they will ovulate so bit ailly to skip a day unless they are doing every other day.
Ovulation after the surge can happen on average 12-24hrs. But it can happen within hours or up to 48hrs. So it os best to continue to BD often until at peasy 3/4 days after the surge just to make sure your covered all possible days.
