My ovulation symptoms are cramping/achy lower back, tiredness and EWCM. I don't get the cramps every month to be fair.

BucksOxonMum · 26/09/2023 13:38

Throwing my hat into the ring here!

This will be our first month trying. I’m 43 though, so really not sure if it’ll happen for me.

Currently on day 6 of my cycle.

Lovely to meet you all xx

I’ve just been reading everyone’s posts the past few days. Welcome to all the new joiners! 👋🌺
sorry for you ladies that are struggling right now but hopefully this forum will be a place you can speak to someone about & not feel lonely. Sending lots of baby dusts for you all and that we get our BFPs very soon. 🌹I don’t know much about BBT and OPKs so it’s interesting to read everyone’s experiences here!

What kind of ovulation symptoms do you all get? Like do you know when you’re about to ovulate or anything that comes out the ordinary? Curious to know as I haven’t noticed, maybe slight cramps but confuse it for being close to AF🤔

CD8 today ⏳

I was wondering the same. I guess I've not thought about it before this month, but on Sunday I had cramping in what must be my left ovary.. so am I to assume I've ovulated?! DTD is a bit knackering, we don't normally do it evert night ! Ha.

MissSB18 · 26/09/2023 12:24

Aww the same to you lovely - sending baby dust to you and all the other ladies on here.. I was lucky enough to conceive 'accidently' with my little boy so I didn't realise I'd be here a year later, probably 8 months properly tracking/trying!

My main symptoms are what I'd describe as a pinching sensation in my ovaries (usually just 1 side but this month had both sides!!) And then very mild PMS symptoms like tender boobs, slight cramps etc. I've not ovulated past 3 months so was starting to worry but thing it was due to an underlying kidney infection I've now been treated for.

How are you feeling? How long have you been trying for? (Sorry if you've already said) x

@MissT90 I take my BBT every morning, usually whenever I wake for the first time and need a wee - the time obviously varies quite a lot! I then log it in the app whenever I wake up properly so times are all over the place. It never occurred to me to log them at consistent times!

I've been using easy@home ovulation strips for about 10 days around when I ovulate. I never get a positive test but I do get small surge most months that coincides with symptoms (usually about 0.6). I log everything in Flo and Premom at the moment.

I've been taking proceive vitamins and I've added in 300mg of CoQ10 in the last month or two as well as some Omega 3. Try to chance my husband round daily and make him take vitamins too (it's like having a toddler already!). Trying to walk 10,000 steps away, drink 2ltrs of water and cut back on alcohol. Generally eat healthy anyway but being a bit more conscious there too.

No acupuncture yet. My husband's friends wife goes (she's been TTC for coming on to 2 years with 2 losses) and she enjoys it. May sound a bit silly but I love giving blood and I don't think you can when you are having acupuncture. My Grandad gave blood for decades and I started going when he died so I feel like it's a legacy I carry on for him. May need to think of pausing and considering acupuncture though at this point. I am starting to struggle with all the emotions attached to it now.

Anotheranxiousone · 26/09/2023 08:31

@hicketypickety mine varies too depending when I wake. I’ve not had a problem but if using an app to track they’ll make a note using a symbol if your time was different to usual. For me it hasn’t made a difference though, my temp is always either below cover line if at start of cycle and above once I’m in luteal regardless of the time o take it.

MissT90 · 26/09/2023 08:19

@wanderlustre sorry I forgot to tag you!xx

MissT90 · 26/09/2023 08:15

Hi. I’m so sorry it’s taking so long for you. I too seem to be surrounded by people who get pregnant the first month of trying. It’s a very lonely journey and the process feels all consuming at the moment but I’m determined not to give up! Have you tried acupuncture or anything like that? I’ve had quite a few sessions now and find that they help manage the stress/worry around the process as I’m a bit of a worrier in general. I’m also taking Chinese herbs which have helped regulate my cycles which have been quite irregular since we started trying (although mine tend to be longer, anything from 29-44days!). I’m giving pre seed a go this month as I know a lot of people seem to have had a lot of luck with it! Do you use opks to track ovulation?

Goodluck to all the new TTC peeps!

My attempt at a romantic date yesterday were not well received…..it was our 9 year anniversary too. Needless to say I felt like the least desirable and also most horrible person ever all at once 😭

Oh no. I'm so sorry 😞 in what way was it not well received. I hope you're okay!

hicketypickety · 26/09/2023 06:24

@wanderlustre that's so tough. All my friends caught straight away with their first and second it's so hard to sit and talk about how easy falling pregnant and pregnancy is with them (believe me it's allllll they talk about). I find it hard to explain because there's an element of "why not me" even though you wouldn't want their baby you want your own. Not sure if I've explained that right. Especially if no one knows it's not as easy for you (one of my friends does but it still doesn't stop the conversations).

Good luck to everyone entering the dreaded TWW. AF has just finished for me but I have quite long cycles so will be a week or so before I start using OPKs.

I'd really appreciate some advice from BBT-ers though - all the guidance says you should do it at the same time in the morning every day before you get up. I get up before 6 for work when I'm in the office and don't get up til 7 when WFH and weekends could be later depending on what DS does. Do I have to wake up before 6 everyday in that case to track BBT? Am I overthinking this?!

Ughh these headaches are driving me insane. I'm 90% sure I'm going to have my period again after a 7 day break.

💔

Anyone had an experience where they came off the IUD and got pregnant within a month. Or am I just kidding myself.

It took 9 months before I ovulated when I came off the pill. I was really hoping it would go like that again for my second.

Hello everyone! Can I please join?
This is my first time ever posting on here but have been lurking for a long time.
I am currently TTC baby #1 - currently on cycle day 3 of our 9th cycle trying. Finding the process really difficult and stressful and wondering if anyone else is in the same situation? It would be great to chat and share experiences.
We have had a few basic tests done and everything seems fine so far.I have been tracking ovulation using OPKs since the first month so know that we are timing it right so I just can’t understand why it’s taking us so long!
Wishing you all the best of luck in your journeys and hope to see lots of positive news on this thread soon ❤️

Hey! I'm in pretty much the same boat. If it doesn't happen for us this month, it'll be our 18th failed cycle (my cycles are pretty short at around 20-24 days). Had some basic tests too without anything showing up. Have a consultation with a specialist at the end of next month after a 6 month wait for the appointment so keeping everything crossed we might see some progress soon. My 32 at the end of the year and my mum went through early menopause at 38 so I'm starting to get a bit tetchy.

My best friend announced her second pregnancy today. She conceived the first month of trying both times. I'm over the moon for her but I must admit, it stung a bit. This TTB business can be so hard sometimes 😔

Hi all! I have been stalking a few threads for months now but finally have the balls to message 😅

I have been off contraception for 1 year, TTC #2 have a 5 year old boy. We properly started trying earlier this year but I've had a good 3 months where I didn't ovulate - I'm 32 so I'm guessing it isn't my age!! I'm pretty sure I've just ovulated (never had a positive OPK, just go by symptoms) so puts me 1DPO. I still have EWCM today though so I'm hopeful the 3 times we have DTD is enough - my partner is in the military so we get it in every single day we can which is limited 😅

Good luck to you lovely ladies, would be lovely to have some friends on this journey xx

TTCnewbies · 25/09/2023 16:29

I don't know exactly when I'll ovulate as I'm just going by the app which says Thursday so I guess my TWW is from Friday?
Having said that, my left side was so crampy yesterday, so I wonder if I've maybe ovulated then/ today?!

MrsHousePlant · 25/09/2023 16:06

@PurplePops I’ll be joining you in the TWW from tomorrow!

PurplePops · 25/09/2023 08:13

Got my peak last night and this morning on OPK after worrying I missed ovulation so that's a relief! DTD last night, will again tonight and tomorrow to try cover it. I'm CD20 now, anyone else about to enter the dreaded TWW? Xx

beaniesunrise · 25/09/2023 07:28

Hi to all the new joiners!

@TTCnewbies I used FRER about 4/5 days before AF then CB. Thinking of doing the same this time

tempted to get the cheapies but then feel like i might keep testing and then it’ll be all I’ll worry about :)

CD7 today, AF ended 2 days ago so starting to TTC this week!

best of luck to everyone for this month!

DoloresOnTheDottedLine · 25/09/2023 07:17

I’m the same as @wanderlustre - I’ll be testing early to manage my own expectations! Stocked up on FRER and CB and bought a few cheap ones from Superdrug as well.

I’m officially in the TWW now. Got my surge on Saturday morning and DTD on Saturday and Sunday night. Was planning once more tonight for luck but full of a cold and finding my enthusiasm is limited!

if my surge was on Saturday morning, so we come Saturday as ovulation day, or Sunday? So am I currently 1 DPO or 2? It’s not going to make any difference to anything, just curious to know how others count it.

Hi to the new joiners!

Thanks both. @wanderlustre I'm wondering if I might be the same tbh. It's a point I hadn't thought of! Where do you get your tests from?

Just Amazon usually. I switch between First Response and Clear Blue depending what is on offer. I try to only use one each month to keep costs down and use the cheaper dip strip ones to put my mind at rest if I get fidgety and want to do another closer to my period due date.

Out of interest, how many here do tests every month? And how many wait until a missed period?
I am not sure if I can handle the heartbreak of seeing negative tests and might just wait for AF. I'm generally pretty regular so I guess I'd wait til 2 days late then test.

Im planning on testing at the end of every month.

I'm not expecting to get anywhere with TTC until a few months because IUD removal though. Got my fingers crossed anyway 😀

I do tests every month and I tend to use the early signs tests 4-6 days before my missed period. It helps me feel in control and let's me begin to process the disappointment of a BFN before I get hit too hard with period hormones. I'm a chronic overthinker and need the wait over with as soon as I can.
