TTC for 18+ months and feeling low!

Natty2 · 02/09/2023 14:42

I'm fairly new at this forum and decided to join after TTC since the start of 2022
We discovered earlier this year that my DH morphology was low, although all other results were normal. He implemented life style changes straight away, and even went through a varicocele embolisation a few months ago, so we're waiting to see if that's helped.

Having gone through the rest of the year undergoing tests everything seems normal, so the NHS are not letting us even get on the IVF list until 2024. It's been such a long, physical and emotional journey and there seems to be no end in sight.

Anyone else going through similar things? I feel like I live life in 2 week cycles and it's so hard to try and not think about it all!!
Any tips?!

@Emz09 that's great news. The scans are so reassuring aren't they!

Emz09 · 12/12/2024 16:19

Hi all! Thank you all for the advice, I think I turned a corner once I forced myself to just keep eating what I could. Once the hunger was manageable then the sickness felt better! Had our clinic scan today and baby is looking perfect at the moment and measuring spot on for 7 weeks 6 days.

I hope everyone is doing ok xxx

Natty2 · 06/12/2024 13:39

@Emz09 hope you had some luck with the GP. Don't worry about losing weight, I lost about 2kg in my first trimester too and there wasn't much to me to begin with! Hope you feel better soon

@Emz09 I lost weight too during that time. I think it's entirely normal, don't worry. I'm now 36 weeks and baby is absolutely fine, though I lost a few kg over about 3 weeks.

Emz09 · 06/12/2024 06:41

@Natty2 glad to hear it gets better, at the moment I don't fancy a single thing. Trying to eat is like doing a bush tucker trial and then drinking is hard cause I don't want to eat. Going to contact the GP today not sure they can even help but I feel awful and have lost weight already.

Natty2 · 06/12/2024 06:27

@Emz09 yes! My food aversions hit at 6 weeks exactly and tbh I've only just gone back to eating chicken in the last week! It does get better, but it did take me a while to slowly reintroduce things.
Find things that you can tolerate and stick to those. Also found my nausea got worse if I was hungry so keep up with your healthy snacks!

@Emz09 yes I did (and I would normally eat ANYTHING so it was very odd). There was a short list of things I could eat without vomiting, and I just stuck to those. It was very boring and didn't include things that I normally love.

For me the worst was eggs. I love eggs but couldn't even look at them for a while. It only lasted 2/3 weeks for me, so I just coped and then it went as quickly as it came. All gone by week 12/13 and I was back to normal.

Emz09 · 04/12/2024 17:29

Guys I need help/advice....food aversions have hit! I literally don't want to eat anything but I'm so hungry which is making me feel so sick. Did any of you suffer with this? Hope you're all well xx

Foreverhopeful92 · 26/11/2024 20:20

Lovely to get a notification for this thread and to read all your exciting news ladies! Congratulations! 🥳🎉

LucyLoopyLu · 26/11/2024 19:15

@Natty2 glad you're doing well!

I'm 36 weeks tomorrow (or Friday according to the hospital). I've got a growth scan tomorrow as well so hopefully everything is still looking ok. She's definitely active which makes me feel a bit more relaxed.

Natty2 · 26/11/2024 18:57

@Emz09 great to hear! I stopped testing after the 3+ as it was so nice to finally see that. Do you have your first scan booked in?

All ok here thanks, 28 weeks this week! 🤯 on our third antenatal class this evening too.

@LucyLoopyLu hope you are doing ok, you must have less than a month until due date?

@Emz09 good news 🙂 glad things are moving in the right direction!

Emz09 · 26/11/2024 17:03

Hey @Natty2! Thanks for checking in. I'm doing good thanks...tests progressed well in the end, although my clinic doesn't do bloods so no idea on my HCG levels. Got my 3+ on clear blue today, I know doesn't necessarily mean anything but it made me feel good! Still hardly any symptoms just some slight lower back ache and boob ache. However I know it's still so early to maybe feel anything.

How are you? X

Natty2 · 26/11/2024 14:00

How are you getting on @Emz09 ? 🤞

LucyLoopyLu · 17/11/2024 22:21

@Emz09 hoping and wishing for you that it works out 🤞 I know that feeling well from when I had to have my repeat HCG tests

Emz09 · 15/11/2024 22:10

Hi! Thank you all! 🤍
@LucyLoopyLu well regretting testing so early because I have become obsessed with my cheap strips not getting darker, first response and boots equivalent look good. I'm just trying to keep level headed and realistic. My symptoms that did eventually appear feel like they're disappearing. So yes just trying to stay hopeful, but very grateful to have even gotten this far xxx

LucyLoopyLu · 15/11/2024 22:04

@Emz09 omg, how exciting! Are you doing ok?

Sorry for late reply X X X

@Emz09 ahhhh amazing!!!! You must be thrilled! Congratulations 🥳

CatCaretaker · 12/11/2024 19:04

@Emz09 it's amazing isn't it, getting your first bfp? I hope you can enjoy the moment to it's fullest.

Emz09 · 12/11/2024 18:08

Having no symptoms got the better of me and I tested yesterday morning, with the aim of not looking at it...but then I did! I know it's so so early but I have never seen a positive test before. This first response is from 10 now on a 2 hour hold 5dpt xxx

Emz09 · 08/11/2024 19:57

@CatCaretaker thank you for sharing! It's really reassuring to hear. Since this afternoon I have had the worst headache!

CatCaretaker · 08/11/2024 19:51

@Emz09 I had IUI, not IVF, but I had absolutely so symptoms at all. Only tested as I was going to pub and wanted to be sure before AF came, and it was positive. In my experience, no symptoms means nothing!

Natty2 · 08/11/2024 15:40

@Emz09 ah congrats on the transfer! Everything crossed for you.
You probably won't feel any different! I just started to feel my period was about to start about a week later and cried so much. It's so hard not to symptom spot, but hope you've got some nice distractions planned for this weekend!

@missmoosh can't believe the teething has started already! Time seems to be flying by!

We're just over 25 weeks now and starting to take advantage of Black Friday deals to start buying stuff!

@Natty2 doing well here! Teething has started so poor little one is chomping down on everything lol

@Emz09 ahh congratulations on the transfer, crossing my fingers for you! Hopefully this is the last two week wait for you!
