I'm currently TTC following a miscarriage at 12 weeks on 5th August. I haven't had a period yet but we decided not to wait, as I'm desperate to be pregnant again and I think that is the only thing that will make me feel better about the loss. I have been tracking ovulation and did catch my peak so now just hoping I've got the timing of DTD right.

Just wondering if anyone out there TTC is around the same time in their cycle so that we can chat to each other really. I think I'm already driving my husband mad, it would be nice to speak to other people who really understand how I'm feeling! 😊

@Kewchoc - I echo what @Liz2681 has said, have a drink, let go for the evening and do what you need to for yourself. Easy to forget about looking after yourself in TTC, it’s not all vitamins and exercise, got to give yourself what you need, and if that’s a night of gin then do it! Tomorrow is a new day ❤️

Liz2681 · 10/10/2023 18:52

@Kewchoc so sorry you've been having a tough day. I know what you mean though -sometimes I'm perfectly ok and other days I struggle to focus and just feel so off. I really recommend just letting your emotions out - I had a moment last week when I completely broke down. I mean I wailed my eyes out like I hadn't before (my poor dog didn't know what was happening!). I felt so so much better for it afterwards though, almost as if a weight had been lifted. I think I was trying to so hard to keep it together that eventually the dam just broke.

So go and get that drink, have a massive cry and know that even if it doesn't feel like it today, you've got this ❤️ x

Kewchoc · 10/10/2023 17:40

@Agathapoirot Oh huge congratulations, that looks like a really strong positive for before a missed period too! Really happy for you 😊

@Liz2681 I'm the same as you, only CD3 so feels like I've got an absolute age to wait before trying again. I'm actually really struggling today, I think baby loss awareness week is really getting to me. I also feel irrationally angry at my husband, he hasn't even done anything wrong, but I think I'm just letting the resentment of "why am I the one who has to go through it all" get to me a bit. I'm off work tomorrow so tempted to have a drink tonight, have a good cry and then reset tomorrow. I rarely drink but today has just been shit and I feel a bit like "fuck it"

@Agathapoirot yes I can understand that - felt the same way when I got my last BFP as I didn't want to get my hopes up and it didn't really set in until a few days later.

Currently on CD5 so have a bit of a ways to go but feeling fairly optimistic. Hoping everyone's doing well! xx

Agathapoirot · 10/10/2023 09:19

@Liz2681 - Thank you! Strangely don’t feel much emotion at all. Definitely holding my hopes back until at least after the weekend.

How is everyone doing?

Liz2681 · 10/10/2023 09:12

@Agathapoirot 🥳 congratulations, that's great news! Keeping fingers crossed for you🤞🏼 x

Agathapoirot · 10/10/2023 08:22

10 dpo, period not due til Saturday so just need to sit tight and hope for the best 😬 🫣

@moosey89 - Can’t even begin to imagine how you’re feeling, but we’re here for you to listen and lean on x

@Amberellalina - We’ll be here waiting when you’re ready to come back!

I caved and ordered the tests today, turning up tomorrow, so we’ll see how long I last before peeing on one of them 😂

moosey89 · 09/10/2023 17:03

@Amberellalina yeah but makes me feel like every time I get pregnant and lose it is so much worse if that makes sense. My first pregnancy took 2.5 years to get pregnant, so it's definitely not easy for me 😞 6 months second time round actively trying but off contraception for 18months. So I've got the shitty combo of infertility and miscarriage. Hopefully a private consultation can give me a little bit of hope because I'm feeling really low about my chances.

Amberellalina · 09/10/2023 13:18

@moosey89 try not to worry - low 'for your age' might actually be alright, and you know you can get pregnant because you did. Just need the next one to be sticky, which hopefully the progesterone will help.

I'm still feeling positive about things in general, but specifically feeling a bit shit this turned out not to be my month. It's obviously nowhere near as bad as an mc, but it is like a little tiny loss every time isn't it? You can't help thinking about what might have been... Right, I'm off to take a break from mumsnet for a few days to regroup ready for this next cycle. Good luck everyone!

moosey89 · 08/10/2023 22:14

@Amberellalina it was AMH blood test. I've got a scan Wednesday but I don't know what it's for exactly, I hope it includes the follicle count so I can get a full picture. I'm so scared of needing IVF. I've never been sure if I could cope with it and even if I do go ahead, I only get one round where I live 😞 I'm losing hope.

Amberellalina · 08/10/2023 18:53

Oh no @moosey89! Sorry to hear that… What was that based on? My GP thought my reserves might be low based on my FSH numbers, but apparently that can be quite variable and my AMH and antral follicle count (which are more accurate) were fine. You should qualify for free IVF if you need it, but fingers crossed you get your BFP soon and you don’t 😊

moosey89 · 08/10/2023 16:56

To add insult to injury, it looks like my ovarian reserve aka how many eggs I have left is also on the low side for my age. Will this saga ever actually work out for me?? Now feels like time really is against me and I'll be lucky to even have one child...😔

Kewchoc · 08/10/2023 16:42

@Amberellalina I agree, and I thought that leaving it 10 mins was pretty standard! Unfortunately we're staying in a really crap travelodge haha but to be honest I'm so tired that I don't think it will make the slightest bit of difference. I get horrendous insomnia before my period, so at least one positive of it appearing is that I might actually sleep tonight! Have you had a nice weekend?

I second what you've said there, I feel very grateful to have ds and a sleepy snuggle with him does often help me get a bit of perspective and think of how lucky I am to have him

How are you getting on @Crazydogladie?

Amberellalina · 08/10/2023 13:32

It’s actually just cruel that that can even happen. I know they say not to read a pregnancy test after the set time but you’re obviously going to aren’t you when you’re desperate for a bfp. Hope you’ve booked somewhere nice for your mid way stop over and you can get some nice cuddles from DS today.

I must admit that having DD already has been incredibly comforting throughout this whole process - I have so much respect for those of you who are going through it ttc #1.

Kewchoc · 08/10/2023 09:06

@Amberellalina Thanks. I just can't believe how clear the second line was on a test that's actually negative, it even had some pink to it. Thankfully I was feeling pretty cautious anyway due to the other negative tests but I did have a little moment of feeling happy and emotional that I'd be finding out I was pregnant again at the same place the last baby stopped growing. I think it kinda made it feel like it was the same baby coming back... which I'm aware sounds completely delusional but TTC makes me think crazy things! We're leaving Cornwall today but won't actually get home til tomorrow afternoon as it's a 6.5 hour drive for us so we're stopping off overnight. I just wanna get home and snuggle on the sofa feeling sorry for myself!

Cornwall can just eff right off can’t it?

Amberellalina · 08/10/2023 09:02

Balls. Absolutely gutted for you @Kewchoc x

Kewchoc · 08/10/2023 08:21

Well... definitely not positive as my period started this morning. Ironically, it literally started while I was sat on the loo waiting for this mornings pregnancy test to develop 😞

Amberellalina · 08/10/2023 08:09

To be fair I did think I was out this month in advance because of the weird bleeding I had in between period and ovulation. That, coupled with another short luteal phase suggests my hormones are still settling after the mc. BUT! I know I definitely ovulated AND I didn’t have the unusual heavy spotting before AF kicked in this time so progress is clearly being made..!

Anyone got any more supplement suggestions I could try this round? I’m already on Pregnacare, prenatal probiotics and vitb6. Gonna order some CoQ10 as well because the IVF clinic recommended it for egg quality.

Hope you all have better luck this month x

Agathapoirot · 07/10/2023 21:13

Sorry to hear that @Amberellalina, but good that you’re feeling so positive for the next cycle! The drinks will have been well deserved, a nice little change of pace before heading into it all again x

Amberellalina · 07/10/2023 21:11

Oh my, that looks very promising to me @Kewchoc!! excited to check updates tomorrow…

AF ended up arriving in full flow here this afternoon, so obviously I went out and got drunk. Still feeling v positive for next round… fingers crossed for ovulation at my ‘usual’ time so I don’t have to wait too long and more BFPs on here before then..!

Agathapoirot · 07/10/2023 20:30

Fingers crossed for a positive update with FMU 🤞🏼

Crazydogladie · 07/10/2023 19:56

If you’re still only 11/12 DPO it could well be that your HSG isn’t detectable without an overnight hold! Sending good vibes your way that you get good news when you can test again in the morning x
