I'm currently TTC following a miscarriage at 12 weeks on 5th August. I haven't had a period yet but we decided not to wait, as I'm desperate to be pregnant again and I think that is the only thing that will make me feel better about the loss. I have been tracking ovulation and did catch my peak so now just hoping I've got the timing of DTD right.

Just wondering if anyone out there TTC is around the same time in their cycle so that we can chat to each other really. I think I'm already driving my husband mad, it would be nice to speak to other people who really understand how I'm feeling! 😊

@Amberellalina Haha, I'm not at any level of fitness anymore unless you count "laying horizontal on the sofa" as a level 🤣 I never did get back to pre DS strength or fitness but I had been going to the gym regularly still. I'm actually considering getting myself a PT who is also qualified in pregnancy training... I feel like having someone else to be accountable to might actually make me get off my arse and sort myself out! Glad you're feeling better for it though, I do think weightlifting is amazing for our mental health! I agree that it's very difficult to fit around life though

@Liz2681Thank you... the assessment went well, although I spent 45 minutes talking about the miscarriage and how it's affecting me in depth, only to arrive at work 30 minutes later and be partnered with a heavily pregnant woman in a training session... the irony of it did genuinely make me laugh though ha, maybe I've finally lost it altogether!!

I'm a little behind you two I'm only on CD13, although had a lot of cramping and ewcm today so wouldn't surprise me if I ovulate a little earlier than last month! Still not getting a positive OPK though so we shall see!

Yep, @Liz2681. I’m hoping for a surge Sunday or Monday, but it could be late again like last month. I’m still testing twice a day, but not worrying as much about e.g. maintaining a consistent level of hydration, holding for an uncomfortably long time etc like I did last month… You’re doing CB right? Any flashing smileys yet?

Amberellalina · 20/10/2023 08:38

Also @Kewchoc I’m feeling much better for getting back to ‘proper’ exercise so I can definitely recommend it!

I love weightlifting - though obviously I’m not at your level. I started in my thirties and really felt like I’d found my sport. It is a bit too time consuming to juggle with full time work and being the primary parent so I’m hoping to get back into it once DC are older ☺️

Liz2681 · 20/10/2023 08:37

Hi @Kewchoc so sorry you're having a hard time 😞 I think we sometimes forget how emotionally exhausting the whole process is, when you're so focused on the physical. Really hope the counselling goes well today x

Agree on the exercise point - I've been so lazy with it lately, going from 4-5 day a week HIIT sessions to very little. I'm gonna try to pick that back up again to take my mind off things.

@Amberellalina were quite close in our cycles then - I'm on CD15, with ovulation predicted around Sunday/Monday. Fingers crossed for positive OPKs soon! x

Amberellalina · 20/10/2023 06:58

Hi @Kewchoc, good to hear from you but sorry to hear you’re struggling. It’s hard Isn’t it? Having to cope with the grief of the loss together with the stress and disappointment of ttc. Hope the assessment for counselling goes well, I think it’s a great idea.

Also very sensible to give yourselves a break from 24/7 bonking this month! I’m all for making sexy time fun again ☺️

CD14 here so ovulation predicted on Tuesday… I’m definitely feeling less mad so far. Didn’t get to combat this week as we’re all full of a cold, but looking forward to getting a sweat on at Body Pump tonight!

Kewchoc · 19/10/2023 19:01

Hey ladies,

How you all doing? Sorry I've been quiet again, I really am finding things super difficult at the min and have been just ignoring all messages from everyone.. not the best coping mechanism is it but there we go! I have an assessment for counselling tomorrow so hopefully that will help.

Interesting that you've been talking about exercise in the TWW I've been thinking the same thing today! Haven't been back to gym since I was last pregnant but I'm thinking about going back this weekend, nothing too strenuous. @Amberellalina when I got pregnant with DS I was powerlifting four days a week at competition level and continued to do so until I was around 14 weeks pregnant so try not to worry too much about exercising in the TWW. I'm beginning to wonder whether the fact I was so fit then and that I'm not exercising at all now is having an impact.

How's everyone feeling this month? We haven't actually had sex all week but I'm planning on scheduling a bonk in tonight. Last month we were at it constantly and obviously still didn't conceive so I'm hoping to take a bit more of a relaxed approach this month and take some pressure off

Thanks @moosey89, I think just typing it out has made me realise how silly it sounds. But, to alleviate the worry I think I’ll switch out the body pump for a swim and try not to go too hard at combat - though I do tend to get a bit carried away 😂

moosey89 · 17/10/2023 20:41

@Amberellalina I get it - if I get pregnant again I'll be so scared of doing every little thing "right"! But honestly the embryo is so tiny at that stage, if it's snuggled up into your womb lining, you can't knock it out by playing or exercising. It's so hard to break through the mental worry xx

Amberellalina · 17/10/2023 20:12

The thing is, logically I know you’re both right. But last month I was arsing about with DD in the playpark at 10dpo and did something pretty strenuous like catch her jumping off of something high then swinging her round in the air (can’t remember exactly what it was). I immediately felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen and then AF arrived the next day. Common sense tells me the two things were unrelated, but ttc paranoia is interfering!

moosey89 · 17/10/2023 19:34

Both times I've got pregnant I have been exercising at least 4-5 times a week and pretty intense exercise too, all the way through the month! Last time I did a hard hilly 10k trail run at 10dpo 😅

I find I get pregnant when I'm fit and healthy. When I'm not I don't, which is annoying because I love eating but need to lose weight again as I've put it on since my last loss 😂

I'd say go enjoy your exercise - make sure you're prioritising good nutrition (carbs for fuel, protein for recovery) and staying hydrated. And as much good sleep as you can manage with DD (when she lets you 😂).

Agathapoirot · 17/10/2023 19:25

This is by no means a medical opinion 🤣 but I think if you’re sensible and don’t make yourself feel 100% exerted then you’d be okay. As long as you stay hydrated and don’t overdo it and be honest with yourself about if you need a break!

Amberellalina · 17/10/2023 18:52

Hey gang, I need some advice in advance re: exercising during TWW.

Before having DD I was very fit and strong (think: running 5ks, lifting my body weight, doing HIIT regularly) but since she was born I’ve let it slide because I’m always too knackered. A couple of months ago she suddenly started sleeping better, so I’ve had the energy to get back to the gym (hurray!). I’ve been doing body pump every week since then and just mixed in a body combat once a week as well.

Now, this is nowhere near as intense as I used to exercise, but is more than I’ve done in the last two years. So my dilemma is: do I keep going, or rein it in a bit for the TWW?

I haven’t been a total couch potato over the last two years btw, I walk a lot and get my 10,000 steps most days…

Liz2681 · 16/10/2023 20:46

@Amberellalina oh wow yeah that's way too many days. I need to remember to use the easy@home tests but because you're suppose to use them in the middle of the day I keep forgetting 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have the app though and agree it is quite satisfying to see the graph, especially when you're tracking BBT as well!

Agathapoirot · 16/10/2023 19:26

@Amberellalina - The premom graph is so satisfying 🤣

Amberellalina · 16/10/2023 17:26

Ha! @Agathapoirot, @Kewchoc used the word last month and I’ve been obsessed with it since 🤣

@Liz2681 yep, opk-ing but just easy@home this month. Used ClearBlue as well last month, but it was a bit too much poas to be sensible and I got TEN DAYS of flashing smiley so by the time I got my surge we were knackered already from bonking eod. Plus, I get a quantitative reading AND a graph on premom with easy@home which are both very satisfying😊

Liz2681 · 16/10/2023 16:10

@Amberellalina are you using OPKs this month? Bring on the bonking indeed 😂 I had a weird cycle last month where usually CB tests give me a reliable few days of flashing smileys before my peak but last time it was literally only a day, so hoping to to have a bit more notice this time!

@Agathapoirot so glad to hear it's going well. Keeping fingers and everything crossed, but all sounds really promising ☺️ x

Agathapoirot · 16/10/2023 13:12

Glad to hear you’re both doing well! I haven’t heard bonking in a while 🤣 really did make me smile. Pretty much the only bonus to this whole TTC thing!

Glad you’re feeling a bit better this cycle @Amberellalina

Lines are progressing well, zero symptoms and still feel a little numb, I guess? Just taking it day by day and I’m actually off work this week which is a fabulous distraction! Will probably book an early scan for 7 weeks just to make sure it’s off to a good start.

Great that you’ll have each other through the TWW, I’ve got fingers crossed you’ll be providing positive updates in a couple of weeks 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Amberellalina · 16/10/2023 08:36

@Liz2681 I’m a late ovulation person as well and on CD10 so looks like we might be in sync again this month ☺️

Amberellalina · 16/10/2023 07:44

Morning all! All good here thanks @Agathapoirot, how are you feeling? Hope all progressing well.

I’m feeling a bit more level this month - looking back I was all over the place this time in September. I thought I was alright at the time though, weird how you process things huh?

Fertile window starts in 3 days over here… bring on the bonking 😂

Liz2681 · 16/10/2023 07:31

Morning! Good here, currently on CD11 just waiting for a positive OPK. I don't tend to ovulate until CD17-18 so still early though!

How's everyone else doing? @Agathapoirot how are you getting on with your line progression? x

Agathapoirot · 16/10/2023 05:14

Hey ladies, checking in. How are you? X

Agathapoirot · 12/10/2023 18:33

@Kewchoc - Glad to hear you’re feeling a little better, just take it one day at a time and let yourself feel all the feelings.

I’m testing each morning with easy@home and there’s line progression but I just don’t think I’m going to believe it/trust it/ be joyful until a bit further on! Have chatted with my other half about whether an early scan will make me feel any less anxious in a few weeks if this one sticks around. I think maybe 8 weeks, although I saw a heart beat at 8 weeks and it stopped at 8+3, so not sure if it’ll bring any comfort!!! Feeling very grateful though and all of these emotions are inevitable and expected. Just trying to take it one step at a time as I’m not even late for my period yet 🤣

Kewchoc · 11/10/2023 20:25

Thanks for the lovely replies ladies. I do actually feel a little better for it. I think that for the last few weeks Ive been so concerned with putting a happy face on for ds that it's meant I have just been putting my real emotions on the back burner and they needed to come out!

@Agathapoirot How are you feeling? Is it starting to sink in? 😊 you must be over the moon!

Liz2681 · 11/10/2023 13:52

Thanks for this @Amberellalina ! I've been meaning to buy this so will do that now 😊 x

Amberellalina · 11/10/2023 12:51

Oh my, look at what you miss when you're away for a day! Congratulations @Agathapoirot EVERYTHING crossed this works out this time.

But I actually just dropped in to say that pre-seed is on offer for a tenner on Amazon at the minute, thought some of you might be interested as it's double that at Boots.

Sorry to hear that you're struggling @Kewchoc and I second the cathartic properties of a good cry.

Right, back to regrouping...
