I'm currently TTC following a miscarriage at 12 weeks on 5th August. I haven't had a period yet but we decided not to wait, as I'm desperate to be pregnant again and I think that is the only thing that will make me feel better about the loss. I have been tracking ovulation and did catch my peak so now just hoping I've got the timing of DTD right.

Just wondering if anyone out there TTC is around the same time in their cycle so that we can chat to each other really. I think I'm already driving my husband mad, it would be nice to speak to other people who really understand how I'm feeling! 😊

Oh hi @HashB! How are you doing? All still Ok?

Kewchoc · 04/11/2023 10:34

@HashB Thank you! How are you doing?

Congrats @Kewchoc and @Amberellalina , very pleased that you’ve got your positives xxx

Kewchoc · 03/11/2023 14:15

@Amberellalina There must be something to it then. Let's hope our lines keep getting darker and darker this time 😊 I have also been feeling ick, certainly felt nauseous for a while when I got up this morning so I'm thankful I can work from home if I need to. Have you had any other symptoms appearing? I've been trying to remember when my symptoms really kicked in with my other pregnancies but I just can't think

I actually do know what you mean. I got weak tests at first as well and I got the same result on the weeks indicator one 8 days apart. It also took a couple of weeks for symptoms to start so I was on my guard from the off. It did all get going eventually, but ‘weaker’ is a good word for it.

So far so good with this one, feeling a bit ick already and line progression looking promising. Still early though.

Kewchoc · 03/11/2023 13:28

@Amberellalina I don't know if this is even a thing, but I felt like it was really a "weak" pregnancy all along, did you?... every pregnancy test I did was faint, I never ever got a dark positive or a dye stealer, (my tests from this morning are literally darker than any test I got after my missed period last time) then the scans/measuring so far behind, I knew it was impossible for me to have conceived two weeks earlier than I thought. To be honest I'm surprised I even got to 12 weeks, my scans were at 6 and 7 weeks (I think). I'm the same as you though, definitely going to a different scan clinic this time around, even though I know the loss was nothing to do with the clinic. I'm planning on going to the same place I had my private scan with ds, which will be nice 😊

That’s what happened to me @Kewchoc - measuring two weeks behind at a private ‘reassurance’ scan, though they did see a heartbeat. Baby hadn’t then grown by the follow up a week later, so I was pretty sure it was curtains at that point.

If I get that far this time I’m doing private scans at 6 and 8 weeks - and going to a different scan clinic than the one where it all went wrong last time…

Kewchoc · 03/11/2023 12:21

@tlw14 I see.. hopefully if they're working reduced hours over that week they might try and get you booked in before Christmas. Fingers crossed!

That's good re the doctor contacting EPAU. Hopefully you will hear something soon. I had 2 private scans in my last pregnancy and they did find a heartbeat the second time but the baby was measuring 2 weeks behind both times, which is another thing that made me think something was wrong. With my son I was measuring ahead at my early scans, so it was quite a contrast! I think I was about 7 weeks with that one. If the baby is measuring so far behind at my early scan this time I think it will really set my anxiety off to be honest

tlw14 · 03/11/2023 11:26

@Kewchoc I know they base it off LMP so it will be the week between christmas and new year which would be nice.

I've just spoke with my GP, she is going to ring EPAU next week and see if they will book me in for a scan at 6 weeks just to make sure all is ok because of my previous loss. If they don't i will book a private one though for sure.

With my little boy i booked a scan at 6 weeks and again at 9 weeks just to be sure all was ok. I didn't have any reason for concern then either but found them really reassuring as i was constantly googling and panicking! I don't think you ever really relax until you can feel them bouncing around in there!

emmatcc1 · 03/11/2023 11:20

@Kewchoc A chemical can only happen if the egg has implanted. If the egg doesn’t implant there is no signs of pregnancy and hcg doesn’t rise. You only start getting positive tests once the egg has been implanted for a couple of days. It’s actually the placenta that triggers hcg production.

Kewchoc · 03/11/2023 11:15

@tlw14 around what date will you be 12 weeks? I think private scans are the only way to get any solid reassurance, even if it doesn't last long! I'm going to book a scan for when I'm almost 8 weeks with the hope that even if my dates are a bit behind, they should still be able to see and measure everything that they need to

OP posts:
tlw14 · 03/11/2023 11:08

@Kewchoc Wouldn't it just!

I keep trying to work out when i would be booked in for 12 week scan and hoping it will be this side of christmas but i think its more likely it will be in the new year.

Just seems so so far away!

Think i am going to book in for a private scan in two weeks time as should be between 6-7 weeks by then.

Are you going to have an early scan or wait it out?

Kewchoc · 03/11/2023 10:55

@tlw14 Oh really? 😞 I was hoping it would be the opposite so I could tick off one less thing to be worried about. This would all be so much easier with a Time Machine wouldn't it?

OP posts:
tlw14 · 03/11/2023 10:53

@Kewchoc
From what i have seen i believe a chemical can still happen even after implantation..

Kewchoc · 03/11/2023 10:36

@emmatcc1 Ahh sorry, that's disappointing 😞

@tlw14 Yeah you're so right. Good that you're seeing the progress on the digitals, I think that's really reassuring. With my mc the digitals took a really long time to get where they needed to be and I think I knew then that something wasn't quite right. But yes, early days of pregnancy are very stressful! I don't even feel like I am pregnant seeing as I've not officially missed a period yet

@Amberellalina Glad you're seeing progression 🥰 you've actually made me feel so much better with that suggestion, if I compare todays to Wednesdays there is actually huge progression! I know what you mean, I've got a clearblue digital but I'm refusing to use it until after a missed AF!

Does anyone know much about implantation and hcg? I always thought that a chemical pregnancy was when the egg is fertilised but doesn't implant, but I also thought that hcg doesn't start rising until after implantation which would make me that that a strong positive would mean the egg has implanted and you're no longer at risk of a chemical. Is that wrong or right? I keep worrying about chemical pregnancies and that next time I test it will be negative, but I don't really understand it

Ah, so sorry to hear that @emmatcc1. Fingers crossed for next month and at least you can have a MASSIVE wine this evening.

All good here - clear progression on the FRER since Weds. I find it much less anxiety inducing to test every other day! If I were you @Kewchoc I’d just chuck yesterdays away and compare today with Wed. We’re going away for the weekend so I won’t be able to do another with fmu until Monday, when AF will be overdue so I feel justified in using the digi 😂

Good news that you are seeing progress @tlw14!

tlw14 · 03/11/2023 08:39

@emmatcc1 Sorry to hear that :(

tlw14 · 03/11/2023 08:39

@Kewchoc We all tell ourselves we wont keep testing but its easier said than done!! Especially when ttc for a while or following a MC.

I feel my boobs are less sore and tender today.. i did another CB digital this morning and its progressed to 2-3 weeks. I feel like i really needed to see that today as i never saw a 2-3 weeks with my previous pregnancy that ended in MC.

The early days of pregnancy send you crazy!!!
All the anxiety and worry!!

emmatcc1 · 03/11/2023 08:38

@Kewchoc the spotting. Turned into full flow pretty quickly.

Kewchoc · 03/11/2023 07:25

@emmatcc1 Let's hope it's a good sign and not AF! Will keep my fingers crossed!

How's everyone else doing this morning? I thought I was quite chill but have done another test this morning despite saying I wouldn't do anymore until AF was due 🙄 but it is only very very slightly darker than yesterdays which is making me worry, even though I'm well aware hcg rises every 48 hours! All of this really does make you lose all sense of logic doesn't it

OP posts:
emmatcc1 · 02/11/2023 20:02

I just started spotting even though af isn’t due until Saturday. No cramps just a tight feeling in my uterus.

Kewchoc · 02/11/2023 12:43

@tlw14 Sorry, I've just realised that I got people mixed up yet again 🫠 but it sounds like you have a good plan. When my sister was pregnant with my niece, she didn't even get a positive until a few days after her period was due, and had a good week or so of barely visible lines. It was all fine though and my niece is 3 now! In regards to symptoms, I haven't really had anything major either. Boobs feel a bit heavier, a few waves of very mild nausea but that's about it!

@Amberellalina Funnily enough I actually looked at that miscarriage tool last night! I did find it reassuring!

OP posts:
emmatcc1 · 02/11/2023 11:17

@tlw14 I knew a girl on here who had a very slow rising hcg. Even after af was due she still had light positives like yours but still carried out a healthy pregnancy. Did you check how sensitive the test is?

tlw14 · 02/11/2023 10:50

@emmatcc1 I am hoping so.. going to retest in a few days time as hcg should of increased by then.

@Amberellalina I have done a digital and it still says 1-2 weeks.. i should be ticking over to 2-3 weeks soon so will retest on Sunday i think and compare lines/digitals then.

Agathapoirot · 02/11/2023 10:49

Does this make them all July babies? So exciting 🤩
