I'm currently TTC following a miscarriage at 12 weeks on 5th August. I haven't had a period yet but we decided not to wait, as I'm desperate to be pregnant again and I think that is the only thing that will make me feel better about the loss. I have been tracking ovulation and did catch my peak so now just hoping I've got the timing of DTD right.

Just wondering if anyone out there TTC is around the same time in their cycle so that we can chat to each other really. I think I'm already driving my husband mad, it would be nice to speak to other people who really understand how I'm feeling! 😊

@Amberellalina That would make sense wouldn't it! Funnily enough I have also been absolutely exhausted whilst approaching ovulation/ovulating so you may be on to something there!

I know, I really do despise the two week wait but I'm hoping this thread will help keep me a bit more sane this time around 🤣

I was the same - the nausea and exhaustion was just something else and I did find it super difficult looking after ds but my mum only lives 5 mins away and works part time so she was a great help which I was very thankful for.

Haha, is 2DPO too soon to test?! 🤣 I'm going to really try and hold out til 10DPO but I'll probably end up testing after about a week. Which is ridiculous cause implantation probably wouldn't have even happened by then but I just lose all sense of logic!!

@moosey89 welcome! Sorry to hear about your loss, it seems to be a common theme with all of us 😞 glad to hear your cycle is getting back to normal though, hopefully you're right and this time round will be even quicker!

Hi ladies I'm 4dpo today, first cycle of trying since mmc (my second) in July, me and my partner tried for about 6 months for that cycle. I did try before af came back post miscarriage but didn't ovulate. Tracking this month looks like things are back to normal which is good 😊 I don't expect to be one of the lucky ones who get pregnant right away but you never know! Took 2.5 years to get pregnant with my ex and 6 months with my current partner so maybe it's getting quicker 😂

I always feel a bit twingey around ovulation but it was stronger this time - maybe from raised hormones? I also felt completely exhausted on Tuesday which I put down to rising progesterone and successful ovulation ☺️

Glad you’re feeling better, just got to get through the waiting now - always the hardest part!

Because I get so sick, the first trimester with a toddler was horrible - especially because I didn’t have much help with her. DH was extremely busy with work and MIL who comes up to help sometimes couldn’t come because FIL had been in hospital and she needed to look after him. Hopefully they’ll both be in a better place to support next time… How about you?

…and when are you going to start going properly mad testing? 😂

Kewchoc · 31/08/2023 07:30

I hope so! I did wonder a similar thing about the discomfort being because there's more hormones and it's actually a good sign but I don't want to get my hopes up haha. Did you ever have the discomfort before the miscarriage?

Yes that's exactly how I feel too! It's almost like my brain just doesn't want to accept what happened and is trying to carry on planning for having another baby... so it needs to happen soon haha.

10dpo is a good time to test. I'd like to say I'll do the same but I'm terrible for early testing even though I know what the outcome will be 🙄

Yes my discomfort seems to have stopped now so I'm really hoping that it was actually ovulation causing it. At least that will mean that I'm using my opk's right 🤣

How do you feel about the idea of being heavily pregnant with a toddler?

How are you feeling today @Kewchoc? Has the discomfort passed?

Amberellalina · 30/08/2023 21:52

I would say it’s more likely to be a good sign - no ovulation = no symptoms! I noticed I had much stronger discomfort in the pre-surge phase, which I put down to the estrogen. Maybe our hormone levels are higher because we’ve been pregnant recently? Hopefully a sign that the increased fertility rumours are true.

I know what you mean about your pregnancy being stolen - I feel like by rights I should be pregnant right now and the Universe needs to get its act together and make it right 😂

I think I’ll do a test at 10dpo, which should be this time next week…

Yeah, I have heard the same thing re being more fertile which is promising isn't it! Absolutely, our original plan was start trying again once ds turned two but now that this has happened we're wanting to bring it forward. I think that because it was such a shock we spent so much time talking about the practicalities of having the small age gap and realised it would actually work better for us, then once we had actually started planning how everything would work it was stolen from us so now we want that back.

That makes sense, it sounds like that situation would really mess with your head 😞 I'd never really thought about miscarriages much prior to it happening, I don't suppose anyone does, but I think when you've been through it and get talking to other women with similar experiences you realise the gravity of it all.

Oh yes your timings sound very good! Fingers crossed then! I had my ovulation test peak on Monday and we DTD Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I'm pretty confident that actual ovulation pain happened today though cause I've had a dull ache/cramp/heavy feeling all day. Hoping it's not a bad sign as I never had any ovulation pain pre MC

I’m sure it will happen soon - you obviously don’t have any issues getting pregnant! And they do say you’re more fertile immediately after a loss. It also sounds like it’s made you realise you’re now ready for another one - and mentally prepared for the extreme sleep deprivation!

For me the psychological trauma has been worse than the physical - it was so confusing to feel so pregnant (I had hg) but to not be, and then just when I thought I’d gotten to the end of the mc and starting to feel normal, having the retained products and having to have the surgery…

It took us eight months to get pregnant second time, but I was bfing a bit for the first six of those and I guess I’m one of those people who needs to stop completely to fall… on pregnacare ttc and tracking ovulation using opks. Used ICs before but this cycle switched to the ClearBlue advanced one to try and catch the days before the LH surge. Managed to dtd on Thurs, Sat and Mon, and my apps think I ov’d either Sat or Sun so I’m optimistic re: timing!

Kewchoc · 30/08/2023 19:55

Sorry to hear about your loss, it's an absolutely horrendous thing to go through isn't it. I also had medical management and I honestly think the physical trauma of it all is equally as bad as losing the baby.

Have you been tracking ovulation? Or taking supplements? I've recently started the Pregnacare trying to conceive and also maca root which I've read is good for conception.

We have a 19 month old son already and it took six months to conceive with him (interestingly I started taking maca root on month 5 of TTC with him and did conceive the next month, could be a coincidence or maybe it really does help). My previous pregnancy which resulted in the loss was actually unplanned and quite a shock, which I think is helping me deal with it and also gives me hope that it won't take too long to get pregnant again now that im putting the effort in... but who knows!

Yep, I’m 3dpo today and also ttc straight after an mc with no period. Had a mmc caught at 9 weeks with medical management at 10 weeks and a fun EPRC at what would have been 14 weeks… quite pleased things seem to be finally getting back to normal and can get back to ttc! It’s #2 for me and I’m 41, dd is 2 and we conceived her in the first month of trying.

How about you? Any other dc?
