I'm currently TTC following a miscarriage at 12 weeks on 5th August. I haven't had a period yet but we decided not to wait, as I'm desperate to be pregnant again and I think that is the only thing that will make me feel better about the loss. I have been tracking ovulation and did catch my peak so now just hoping I've got the timing of DTD right.

Just wondering if anyone out there TTC is around the same time in their cycle so that we can chat to each other really. I think I'm already driving my husband mad, it would be nice to speak to other people who really understand how I'm feeling! 😊

@HashB yeah, but I don’t like it!

HashB · 11/09/2023 14:54

@Amberellalina isnt spinach a really good source of iron?

Amberellalina · 11/09/2023 14:42

@Agathapoirot I’m generally a bit low on iron as well. Any top tips for natural (vegetarian) sources? I like dried apricots which are supposed to be high in iron, so I might chuck a few of them in with my Brazil nut snack pot for an extra boost ☺️

Amberellalina · 11/09/2023 14:40

Sorry for your loss @LexIvy88, and fingers crossed for this month for you and @Agathapoirot.

Good to hear that about Mira @moosey89!! It must be helpful to know that you can be confident it’s giving you useful information.

How is everyone?

CD6 for me today - and I’m already counting down the days to my fertile window! Could be a long month… I normally start testing for ovulation from CD10 and it usually happens CD17/18.

moosey89 · 10/09/2023 15:00

@Amberellalina it was pretty accurate actually! I'd definitely trust all 3 of the test types haha

This coming month is definitely one for my mental health (actually until that appointment). Just going to exercise and enjoy myself best I can xx

Agathapoirot · 10/09/2023 13:24

Fingers crossed for us both this week x

LexIvy88 · 10/09/2023 13:14

Hi guys, I’m 10dpo today and in a similar situation to a few of you. I had a mmc in late June and had surgery July. I’ve had one period since my surgery and this is my first cycle back on the wild TTC horse.

It took 7months for us to conceive the pregnancy that I lost, it felt forever but I’m clinging onto the hope that this one will be faster.

I feel weird about testing, like I will jinx it or something. AF is due this Friday. I have zero symptoms save for tender boobs, but this is normal PMS for me. My last pregnancy I had insomnia, bloating and a migraine on the day I think implanted.

Good luck to those holding out and congrats to any BFPs! X

Agathapoirot · 10/09/2023 12:38

I’m just taking folic acid with vitamin D and spatone at the moment. Always had low iron on and off so I take that anyway, and it doesn’t upset my stomach like iron tablets!

Period is due on Friday, if my cycles aren’t still messed up from the miscarriage, so if it arrives will continue with the same combo next cycle.

I’ve held out testing as I have no symptoms and just trying to tell myself that it’s not going to happen to help ease the disappointment. For the baby I miscarried we got pregnant first month of trying, and I just don’t think we’ll be that lucky for that to happen again!

I’ve got friends staying over the weekend that I’ve not seen in a while so I’ll either be secretly celebrating with mock tails or have a relaxed night out with cocktails knowing I have a couple of weeks until the anxiety of the Tww starts again 🤣

Hope you’re all doing okay this weekend

Amberellalina · 10/09/2023 12:28

Awwww, @moosey89 that sounds rough. But at least you do know what the issue is now and hopefully it will be easy to fix! How did you get on with the blood test-Mira comparison?

What’s everyone doing re:supplements this cycle? As well as pregnacare and 100mg b6 I’m taking prenatal probiotics (heard they are good if you have had a surgical erpc like I have) and just bought a box of spatone because I’m feeling a bit low on iron… I started having pomegranate juice and Brazil nuts last cycle and still having those, more because I like them though rather than because I seriously think it would help 😂

I’m also exploring IVF. Not sure if it will increase our chances of getting a take home baby but definitely worth asking and I find it helpful to feel like I’m doing something!

moosey89 · 09/09/2023 14:16

@Kewchoc my first period has 2 really heavy days, way heavier than usual, but apart from that it wasn't too awful.

@Amberellalina I'm doing ok thanks. Tough day yesterday, lots of tears and feeling down. I think now I know what's going on with my cycle I'm going to not do most of what I have for the upcoming months (until my appointment) and just use the clearblue sticks. Only need to use them because we have to do home artificial insemination so still need to know what days to target! Other than that I'm going to just take it easy and take one day at a time x

HashB · 09/09/2023 12:59

@Kewchoc my first cycle was really short, about 21 days and it was usual length but heavier than normal. I also felt crampier than usual.

I feel ok other than I’ve noticed I need a wee a lot more and I just cannot sleep. I can fall asleep but i’m wide awake from 1ish. On a morning I just feel really groggy, I wouldn’t say morning sickness but it is a bit of a sickly feeling.

It hasn’t really sunk in to be honest! Since getting the obvious positive test me and my fiancé haven’t spoken about it once. I feel like last time has really shown me that all it means is I’m pregnant today, and I’m really grateful, but I’m not going to get ahead of myself this time. Last time I’d even picked out nursery wallpaper 🤦🏼‍♀️

Kewchoc · 09/09/2023 11:57

@Amberellalina yeah that's true, at least I have an answer now. Yeah to be fair, I don't usually have spotting, my period generally starts through the night then when I get up the following morning it's like a scene from Carrie! So maybe it is that there were things leftover from the MC in which case I guess it can only be a good thing that it's all getting cleared out before conceiving again. Yes hopefully we will still be in sync I've been finding this thread helpful!

Oooh yes @HashB how are you feeling? Has it sunk in yet?

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 09/09/2023 11:18

Oh no @Kewchoc, what a rollercoaster! At least with AF coming early you’ve got a bit of closure.

Mine’s been pretty normal so far, apart from the two days of spotting first which I don’t usually have (0-100 is normal for me 😂). I guess it was a bit of gunk left over from the mc. Having I’m on CD4 now and I ovulate around day 18 so we should still be in sync for next time if you have a ‘normal’ cycle length.

@HashB how are getting on? Any symptoms yet?

Kewchoc · 09/09/2023 10:38

@HashB Yes this is my first period since MC, it's actually five weeks to the day since MC happened. I'm trying to stay positive and tell myself that at least I know I'm ovulating and have a fresh lining ready for this coming cycle but I still feel down today, which I guess is probably quite natural.

What was everyone's first period post MC like? Mine seems to have gone from 0-100 already this morning. My app said it was due to start on Monday but I'm kinda relieved it's started today and not on Monday when I'll be at work, at least today I can have a lazy day at home

OP posts:
HashB · 09/09/2023 10:27

Ah I’m sorry @Kewchoc If this is your first cycle post MC has it been a normal length?

sorry I missed your post @moosey89 and sorry this isn’t your month but it sounds like you really might be on to something with the progesterone? Hopefully the next few months will be totally different x

Kewchoc · 09/09/2023 08:19

Never mind... started spotting so I think AF is starting early and yesterdays line must have been an indent 😞

OP posts:
Kewchoc · 09/09/2023 07:16

I've tested again this morning and it just looks exactly the same as yesterdays test. I know I'm just going to have to wait a day or 2 then test again but I just want to know now 😩

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 09/09/2023 06:59

Ooh, @Kewchoc, that looks promising. @moosey89 how are you doing today?

Kewchoc · 08/09/2023 20:58

@HashB Yes exactly there... maybe we're just as crazy as each other 🤣

OP posts:
HashB · 08/09/2023 20:50

Maybe I’ve just stared at tests too long but I think I can see something?

1DPO... any cycle buddies out there?
Kewchoc · 08/09/2023 20:33

@HashB I've edited this slightly but I'm still not sure you'll even be able to see it, I think I can only see it on the photo cause I know it's there in real life

OP posts:
HashB · 08/09/2023 20:05

@Kewchoc the first photo I posted I had played with all the contrast settings so there was something to show. If it wasn’t for that I’d have thought it was negative. You could barely see a thing

Kewchoc · 08/09/2023 20:04

@HashB Haha thank you... the line was literally fainter than the first photo you posted so we shall see what tomorrow brings

OP posts:
Kewchoc · 08/09/2023 19:50

@Agathapoirot Thank you! I'll update tomorrow. Really trying not to get my hopes up

HashB · 08/09/2023 19:50

@Kewchoc i have everything crossed! I’m going to be checking this thread constantly now! I am wishing you a faint line tomorrow xx
