I'm currently TTC following a miscarriage at 12 weeks on 5th August. I haven't had a period yet but we decided not to wait, as I'm desperate to be pregnant again and I think that is the only thing that will make me feel better about the loss. I have been tracking ovulation and did catch my peak so now just hoping I've got the timing of DTD right.

Just wondering if anyone out there TTC is around the same time in their cycle so that we can chat to each other really. I think I'm already driving my husband mad, it would be nice to speak to other people who really understand how I'm feeling! 😊

Argh I'm due to ovulate tomorrow but still haven't had a positive OPK... infact they're getting lighter and I'm finding it very stressful 😞

@Agathapoirot Glad to hear you're feeling a little better 😊 try not to be hard on yourself, it's a very stressful time for you and I think most of us would be feeling exactly the same as you currently, sending a big hug

@Amberellalina oh I'm bloody sick of it 🤣 I really am, it turns out I've got covid too so I really am feeling crap but I just can't bare the thought of missing any opportunity til after ovulation. That's so great about your test results, that must have made you feel a little relieved? 😊 good news about the ovulation symptoms too, hopefully the next couple of days you'll see something. I'm CD 13 at the min and nowhere near a positive OPK yet so we shall see. I'll be fuming if I'm doing all this bonking for nothing!!

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 21/09/2023 19:12

How’s the bonking going @Kewchoc? 😂

Amberellalina · 21/09/2023 18:55

Oh good @Agathapoirot. Glad you’re feeling better - hopefully you can have a nice time this weekend and your trip will be a distraction rather than a chore.

I’m feeling better as well. My AMH blood test and antral follicle count came back high for my age, so if we do decide to do IVF then we’ve got a good chance. I’m finding this reassuring, though the potential cost is eye watering.

I’m CD16 and no ovulation yet, but that’s normal for me and I’ve been on the b6 which I’ve read can delay things. Bloated and uncomfortable (again, normal symptoms for me) so it’s definitely coming!

Agathapoirot · 21/09/2023 13:11

Feeling much more rational today, hope you’re all doing well.

Where is everyone in their cycle right now?

Kewchoc · 19/09/2023 08:01

@Amberellalina Hahaha you're very welcome! Ahh I see what you mean. I get very confused with all these tests and hormones to be honest. It was only a couple of months ago that I learned the LH surge is actually prior to ovulation and not the day of. I never wanted to dive so deeply into the world of TTC but it becomes impossible not to doesn't it

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 18/09/2023 20:23

Ha! Thanks for the light relief @Kewchoc, haven’t heard the word bonk is ages!

I’m using the Clearview advanced opk where flashing smiley means high estrogen, which is supposed to trigger LH, which triggers ovulation… so not ovulating yet, but might in next few days.

Kewchoc · 18/09/2023 16:54

@Agathapoirot That's understandable for you to feel like that and I'm sorry you're going through it. It really is so shit 😞

@Amberellalina Oh so you are ovulating! Maybe your cycle is still a bit off. Was there a lot of spotting or just tiny amounts? Good news about the ovulating though 😊 I'm CD10 today and started on the OPK's this morning. Decided I'm just going to bonk the days away until after ovulation. I don't feel like it at all cause I'm full of cold and therefore look super sexy at the mo, what a lucky guy my husband is 🤣 but needs must!

Amberellalina · 18/09/2023 12:51

@Agathapoirot I know what you mean. One of my NCT friends just had her second baby (and we started trying the same month) and another has just found out she’s pregnant without even properly trying (they were on honeymoon and ‘not preventing’). I’m really happy for her, especially because it took her two years to conceive #1 but damn it still stings. Rampaging hormones do NOT help. Sending solidarity to you for the weekend 💪

Right, I’ve had two days of flashing smileys now (CD12 and 13, so early for me) so something is clearly happening despite the bleeding. Whether it’s enough to trigger ovulation and then allow implantation and then sustain a pregnancy etc etc etc we will have to see… what a flipping minefield.

@Kewchoc what CD are you now? Are you OPKing? I am optimistic that this could be your month!

Agathapoirot · 17/09/2023 20:24

Thanks both. I just feel very very sad and tearful. My period is incredibly heavy compared to my usual and to be completely honest I’m feeling very low. Definitely feeling like it’s all very unfair, and finding it very hard to put my sadness in one box and my happiness for my sister in law in another.

Its my brother in laws thirtieth birthday get together next weekend and I don’t quite know how to face i and the inevitable baby talk 😞

Kewchoc · 17/09/2023 19:56

Thanks for everyone's replies re relationships after MC. To be fair, in the space of two months we've had the MC, I've started a more senior/stressful role at work, we've had a falling out with my husbands family and gone no contact with his mum (been a long time coming) and we're renovating the house. So a lot of stress is on us at the moment I guess it makes sense we're arguing more. Will be so glad for life to start feeling normal again!

@Amberellalina my first period was definitely heavier than usual but still lasted the normal five days. Sorry to hear you're counting yourself out, maybe you're just going to ovulate a little late? Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

@Agathapoirot so sorry to hear about the chemical 😞 the whole TTC journey is so incredibly unfair 😞

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 16/09/2023 17:53

Oh no! Sorry to hear that @Agathapoirot. Sending a hug x

Agathapoirot · 16/09/2023 17:38

Sadly a chemical as AF came with full force this morning 😞 Do you think I should count the start of the spotting on Thursday as cycle day 1, or today when the full bleeding started?

Glad to have my friends staying as I’m having to put on a brave face and pretend nothings happening. Stopping me from having a little cry to be honest.

Hope you’re all having good weekends x

Amberellalina · 15/09/2023 20:33

Got my fingers crossed for you @Agathapoirot… waiting to test again til Monday seems very sensible and hopefully your visitors will keep your mind off of things!

Think I might be counting myself out this month already - more spotting today and a bit crampy. I haven’t ovulated yet and I can’t see any scenario where bleeding at this point it is good for my chances! In a way it takes the pressure off a bit, clearly my hormones are still out of whack and there’s not much I can do about that…

How was your first period back @Kewchoc? Everything feeling normal?

Thinking about the Mira again @moosey89 - can you test at any time or do you have to not drink anything and hold it in for a bit like you do with evening OPKs? I really struggle with that as I drink water (and so pee…) pretty much constantly all day 😂

moosey89 · 15/09/2023 10:13

@Kewchoc with my first miscarriage it was the trigger for breaking up with my husband - not the cause, we weren't compatible, but it brought out a lot of issues that we'd be suppressing and we really weren't good at supporting each other.

This time I've made a huge effort to talk through all the uncomfortable things with my partner and whilst those conversations haven't been fun it's really helped. Every time I feel down or wierd I tell him and we talk about it. I'm sure things will be ok with your other half - just keep being open and honest and encourage him to be the same. Also respect both your needs for time alone if you need it. Hugs x

Agathapoirot · 15/09/2023 08:17

All a bit strange really, had a line on a boots early on Wednesday evening, yesterday morning easy at home was super duper faint again and I had a bit of spotting first thing with nothing else since.

This morning I did easy at home, boots early, boots normal and a clear blue early. All came up with a line, and the boots normal (25 rather than 10) was strangely the strongest!

My period is due today, and I don’t usually get any spotting beforehand, just straight into it. I’ve got friends staying this weekend so am going to forget about it, not test and see if AF shows up, if not I’ll test again Monday.

Feel like by now I should be getting much stronger tests, but the mc might have messed with my cycles I guess. Similarly wouldn’t be surprised if AF shows up and this is a chemical given how faint they are.

Just have to do our favourite thing and wait and see!

Sorry to hear that some of you are struggling, it definitely comes in waves doesn’t it? Feel okay one week, and the sadness hits the next.

I found the mc was very different for me and my partner, he was very sad, but didn’t have to go through the physical element. Best thing to do is just to keep talking and like amberellalina said, it will get easier with time.

Amberellalina · 15/09/2023 07:46

@Agathapoirot how are you getting on? Any line progression to report?

Amberellalina · 15/09/2023 07:41

Thanks @Kewchoc, I think it’s because I’m coming up to a year ttc now and because of my age I keep thinking that the baby I lost was my chance for #2 and I missed it. Stupid, I know!

I think taking a break is a good idea. Do you feel a bit better now?

Sorry to hear that things are weird between you and your husband. The pressure that baby loss (and ttc in general…) puts on relationships is intense. I’m sure it will pass as things get easier.

I’m on CD10 but ov around CD18 so still got a way to go. Started OPKs this morning, fingers crossed for both of us (and everyone else on the thread) this month…

Kewchoc · 14/09/2023 20:22

Hey ladies, sorry I've been MIA the past few days. I needed to try and get my mind off TTC cause I was getting a bit obsessed and getting my period was a really difficult experience for me. Hope you're all okay 😊 there's a few of you who will be approaching your fertile windows soon isn't there!

Sorry to hear you're struggling @Amberellalina do you think something has triggered it? (Not that it needs a trigger!)

Just out of curiosity, did MC have much impact on any of your relationships with partners? My husband and I usually have a really good relationship but since the loss we've had quite a few arguments and things just don't feel the same 😞

Amberellalina · 14/09/2023 09:03

Yep @Crazydogladie we definitely need to try and stay positive, but it is easier said than done some days isn’t it!! I have some tests next week too (AMH blood test and follicle-counting scan) and it’s good to feel like you’re actively doing something. My tests are in Manchester so I’m going to take the day off work, and leave dd in nursery to just take a bit of time to myself to mooch about the shops and generally potter about. Hopefully some time to process will help.

Good luck with your tests - what are you having?

Crazydogladie · 13/09/2023 22:35

Sorry to hear you are finding things tough right now@Amberellalina, its just such a rollercoaster isn’t it. Ive been struggling this week too, i was a bit knocked by the chemical pregnancy despite trying to not get my hopes up. We are only trying 6 months but I’ve been anxious since the start because of some underlying health stuff and i think getting my first BFP and then losing it has just really sent my anxiety into overdrive! Going for some tests next week so trying to let myself feel my feelings and then focus on having a plan. It’s a new month, hoping it’s a good one for us all!!

Amberellalina · 13/09/2023 19:16

How’s everyone else doing? I’m having a major wobble at the minute, thinking a lot about the baby I lost, and just generally feeling not Ok 🙁

Amberellalina · 13/09/2023 09:30

That looks promising @Agathapoirot, I can see something there too… Got my fingers crossed for you!

Agathapoirot · 13/09/2023 05:27

Hope you’re all doing well x

I’ve tested the last couple of days because I made the mistake of buying tests for ‘when AF was late’ and all were definitely stark white negatives, but this morning I think I see a vvvvvvvfl. I always do two just to make sure it’s not a dodgy test. Came up in the time frame, so shall just have to wait and see, AF due Friday if mc hasn’t messed up my cycles 🤞🏼

@Amberellalina I’m vegan so feel your struggle on finding natural sources! I just try and eat as much green stuff as I can, vitamin C helps absorption and sadly tea blocks absorption so I try and limit that too!
