I'm currently TTC following a miscarriage at 12 weeks on 5th August. I haven't had a period yet but we decided not to wait, as I'm desperate to be pregnant again and I think that is the only thing that will make me feel better about the loss. I have been tracking ovulation and did catch my peak so now just hoping I've got the timing of DTD right.

Just wondering if anyone out there TTC is around the same time in their cycle so that we can chat to each other really. I think I'm already driving my husband mad, it would be nice to speak to other people who really understand how I'm feeling! 😊

@Amberellalina Hahaha yes, to be honest I'm so worn out at the moment that once a month sounds ideal!!

I've tested again this morning which was a more solid line straight away and registered at 1.5, the app automatically registered it as my peak and has changed my ovulation day to tomorrow. Very bizarre but at least I know I'm ovulating at some point! Now we just need the next couple of weeks to fly by!

We're going down to Cornwall to stay with my husbands family for a few days, not the weekend coming but the weekend after that... bang on when I would usually start obsessive testing haha. I imagine I'll still end up testing before we go 🙄 but I can't decide whether it's odd to do pregnancy tests in someone else's house while we're there 🤔 it would be interesting if I did get a positive there, as that's where we were when I lost all of my symptoms overnight last time so I am pretty certain that's when the baby stopped growing

Ha ha @Kewchoc I know what you mean - we’ve been together for 12 years so we are very much a once a month couple not once a day (when not ttc). It’s quite nice to get a bit more action though, if a little tiring 😂

Kewchoc · 25/09/2023 18:34

@Amberellalina Oh definitely yes very similar. Either way, I know somethings going on anyway what with the cramping and other symptoms so it's back to bonking I go! Can't wait for the next few days to pass so I can relax 🤣
when my husband and I first met and were young and in love, we literally had sex every day and I feel like we've gone back to that this week, just with more wrinkles, stretch marks and "please hurry up I'm knackered" hahaha. Don't know how we did it back then!!

@Kewchoc here are my results from today - I think your pic looked like the ‘high’ one not the low so probably just your camera playing up.

@Crazydogladie I know what you mean about not drinking and what to tell people - I sometimes say I’m on antibiotics if I’m with people who are too nosy to take no for an answer!

@Agathapoirot I agree although I do make a point of taking photos at the exact same place on my kitchen work top every day 🤣 it wouldn't surprise me if my damaged phone is to blame, it's literally falling apart

Oh glad you got your surge today @Amberellalina and also glad we're ovulating at the same time and can keep each other company!

I've just done another test which looks just the same as this morning, so pretty certain it is my peak right now. Very strange though as it's only registering as 0.45 whereas my peak last month was 1.5! Trying not to read into it but I've obviously convinced myself I'm not releasing enough LH and that I'll never get pregnant again 🙄

@Crazydogladie that's annoying timing!! Although if you're a serial early tester like me, you might know something before your holiday!

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 25/09/2023 13:48

I can drop down to a non-insane testing rate now @Agathapoirot and hopefully still be able to afford Christmas 😂

Amberellalina · 25/09/2023 13:47

Must be something in the air today - just got my surge as well ☺️ Better three days late than never! Hope yours gets the memo soon @Crazydogladie

Crazydogladie · 25/09/2023 11:01

That looks positive to me too @Kewchoc ! I’m now officially the latest I’ve ever been too. We’re going on holidays soon and I was delighted that my TWW was going to end just beforehand but I’m now 5 days late 🙄I would obviously be delighted to not be drinking etc if I was pregnant but I know that I’ll hate having to refuse drinks etc in the TWW and have people I’m with think I’m pregnant when I’m likely not, it makes me feel like I’m pretending to be pregnant or something?? I know that probably makes no sense 😆

Agathapoirot · 25/09/2023 08:33

@Kewchoc - I’d agree looks positive! I have found that the reading changes depending on where you take the photo too, if it’s a brighter spot etc. Can you enter it and manually set it as your peak?

@Amberellalina - Hopefully you’ll get yours soon, going to get expensive if you continue at 5 a day 🤣

Amberellalina · 25/09/2023 07:36

This looks positive to me @Kewchoc but the control line looks weird so maybe that’s why it isn’t coming up in Premom? You could try another strip, maybe that ones a bit dodgy x

Amberellalina · 25/09/2023 07:34

Ladies, I have a confession. I did 5 OPKs yesterday, including one at 1:40 when I woke in the night to pee 😂! Still no surge either… it’s officially the latest I’ve ever ovulated now - if I ovulate that is. Up to 0.5 now on the strips though, maybe I’m just getting a slow rise? Work today though - hopefully it will stop me from obsessively testing!!!

Kewchoc · 25/09/2023 07:17

So I have got what I would definitely say is a strong positive OPK this morning, but my Premom app is not picking it up?! I did drop and smash my phone recently and the it hasn't been working properly since so I'm wondering if it's my camera not picking it up, because I cannot see how this test isn't positive...

Kewchoc · 24/09/2023 18:56

Well I'm very confused as today I've had cramping and EWCM but still no positive OPK! If I wasn't testing I would be certain I was ovulating now, but who knows!

@Agathapoirot I usually test with my first wee of the day and then again anytime after around 3. I did however recently read that apparently second wee of the day is more reliable than first with OPK tests

OP posts:
Agathapoirot · 24/09/2023 14:05

Fingers crossed you all get your peak soon! This is the first month I’m going to try and do the OPK testing properly, so be interesting to see what happens!

What time of day do you usually test? And do you not drink anything in the hours before hand?

Crazydogladie · 24/09/2023 12:38

Yeah I’ve been doing them twice a day although I’m not sure why I’m bothering as I always get bad cramps before ovulation so I usually know when it’s happening! This late ovulation is driving me nuts, my husband is away a lot with work so catching my window can be tricky even when I know when it is!

Amberellalina · 24/09/2023 11:15

I’ve been doing them twice a day but my timings aren’t always consistent because, you know, life, so that’s why I’m worried I might have missed it. We shall see…

Kewchoc · 24/09/2023 10:30

@Amberellalina @Crazydogladie Haha yes, my husband also thinks I've gone loopy... it seems to be a common theme doesn't it??

But I agree it's nice to have this outlet where we all actually understand. Yeah I agree, very weird that we're all ovulating late! But perhaps you're right and the fact it's happening to all of us is reassuring that it's quite normal. I'm pretty certain that the last time I was pregnant I ovulated late, as we were actively avoiding ovulation seeing as I'm not on birth control. So maybe I do just ovulate late every month and have never noticed.

Are you both doing OPK's twice a day?? It feels a bit obsessive but it's what my app tells me to do so I have been

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 24/09/2023 07:35

@Kewchoc and @Crazydogladie it is nuts and I’m also looking forward to work tomorrow to take my mind off of things! My husband also thinks I’ve gone loopy, so it’s nice to have an outlet like this where everyone properly understands.

Weird that we’re all ovulating late, but maybe reassuring that it’s normal if it’s happening to all of us? I think my OPKs might have been darker that ‘usual’ yesterday and today. Poss just wishful thinking…

Crazydogladie · 23/09/2023 23:28

I feel like I could have written your last post myself @Kewchoc ! I hate how much mental energy this all takes. I feel like my husband thinks I’ve gone loopy but it’s impossible not to be consumed by it, for me at least. I’m also late ovulating this month, usually happens CD12 and I’m CD15 now with no sign. Presume it’s because of the chemical last month. The TWW is a mare but I just want to get into it now, this limbo is even worse!

Kewchoc · 23/09/2023 18:28

@Amberellalina Nope, still no surge here either 😞 OPK's were slightly darker today, but not sure that's even relevant really! We're having a quiet weekend too, which I could really do without, but thankfully I do have a busy work week both next week and the week after which I'm hoping will make the TWW pass a bit faster (if I do even ovulate)

I absolutely hate how much TTC takes over our lives, but then I don't want to do the whole "just relax and see what happens" incase we miss our chance. I'll be glad when we've finished having children and don't need to think about any of this ever again

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 23/09/2023 16:50

Quiet weekend so far - a bit too quiet if you know what I mean!

Amberellalina · 23/09/2023 16:50

No surge here yet - hope you’re faring better @Kewchoc!

Kewchoc · 22/09/2023 19:01

@Amberellalina yes that's exactly what I've been doing, with the tests getting lighter I keep thinking perhaps I ovulated before I started testing and have missed it. But that would mean ovulation happening on like CD9 haha so I know it's unlikely. Hopefully I'm just going to be a few days later too!

Do you have much planned this weekend to take your mind off it?

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 22/09/2023 17:47

It’s all very stressful isn’t it @Kewchoc? The same is happening to me - would ‘normally’ ovulate CD18 (tomorrow) and no hint of a surge on the OPKs yet. DH reminded me that this has happened before, and I just ovulated late that cycle - so hopefully that’s what’s going on and I’ll surge tomorrow or Saturday!

Its annoying because you start to second guess yourself and worry you missed it…
