I'm currently TTC following a miscarriage at 12 weeks on 5th August. I haven't had a period yet but we decided not to wait, as I'm desperate to be pregnant again and I think that is the only thing that will make me feel better about the loss. I have been tracking ovulation and did catch my peak so now just hoping I've got the timing of DTD right.

Just wondering if anyone out there TTC is around the same time in their cycle so that we can chat to each other really. I think I'm already driving my husband mad, it would be nice to speak to other people who really understand how I'm feeling! 😊

@Kewchoc I understand what you mean about it messing with your head and agree with @moosey89 that it really helps giving yourself the space to be sad.

I thought I was doing relatively well to date but just received a letter in the post from the NHS saying my first scan's been scheduled for the 26th. It's so incredibly upsetting. Had a good cry though and think I will be spending the rest of the day under my duvet before I muster up the courage to call them to cancel 😫

Kewchoc · 05/10/2023 08:55

@moosey89 That sounds like the healthiest thing to do to be honest. I think I'll do the same, although 15th October is our first wedding anniversary so I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to make our wedding anniversary a sad day but I also feel guilty to the baby we lost moving their day to a different day just to make it more suitable for me

@Kewchoc I was really hoping to be pregnant again in time for baby loss awareness week but I'm not either. It's hard but I'm sort of leaning into it, allowing myself to feel sad and taking part in the walk on the 15th to raise money for Miscarriage Association, and also the wave of light. I have done that every year since my first loss and I find it gives me a sort of emotional release x

Kewchoc · 05/10/2023 08:43

Morning gang, hope you're all okay and not going too crazy in the TWW!

You're all doing much better than me with waiting to test haha. @Liz2681 I also have been testing with easy@home so hopefully the crappy tests are the reason for our BFN's and we will get our BFP in the next few days! I go to Cornwall today to stay with some family, but this is where all of my symptoms disappeared last time so I'm getting quite stressed about going now. Really hoping I get a bfp while we're there as it would make everything feel full circle if that makes any sense to anyone!

How is everyone feeling about baby loss awareness week coming up? I've already started seeing posts on social media about it and am finding it a bit difficult. I don't think I would find it so hard if I was already pregnant again but seeing so much info about baby loss knowing I haven't conceived again since we lost ours is really messing with my head to be honest

@Amberellalina very true, still quite early and in my experience the easy@home tests really struggle to pick up lower levels of HCG. I'm going to hold out until the weekend before doing a Clearblue.

Never thought hubby waking up early could affect BBT, as mine does as well so may need to start taking those readings with a pinch of salt! 😬

@Agathapoirot good tactic not having them in the house. I have so many lying around the temptation is too great at this point 🫢😬

Amberellalina · 05/10/2023 07:23

Good thinking @Agathapoirot I’ve got a pack of frer arriving on Sat so I’ve accidentally done the same!

Agathapoirot · 05/10/2023 07:15

I’m only 5dpo and would really love to wait for af to be late so I’m not squinting at lines BUT I know who I am as a person and will most likely be doing one from 9dpo 🤣 My tactic is to wait as long as I can before ordering them

Amberellalina · 05/10/2023 07:09

Sorry to hear that @Liz2681 but nevermind, as you say, still v early!

Temping doesn’t work for me because DH gets up early which either a) makes me cold because he’s not in bed or b) makes me warm because he puts the heating on 😂

Liz2681 · 05/10/2023 07:00

Morning @Amberellalina!

If it makes you feel any better I caved and tested this morning with an easy@home test (can completely relate to having loads of those lying around) and it was a BFN 😕

I keep telling myself it's still too early at 9DPO but no longer feeling very positive particularly as I've noticed a slight drop in my BBT. If it's sustained tho AF is definitely on her way 😫

Amberellalina · 05/10/2023 06:55

I think I’m gonna cave and test tomorrow (10 dpo) with an easy@home. I’ve got a billion of them in so I don’t mind wasting it!

Amberellalina · 05/10/2023 06:48

Morning all! How is everyone feeling today? Anyone testing??? I am still managing to resist 😊

Crazydogladie · 04/10/2023 17:18

Sorry I realize it is an absolute first world problem to be complaining about going on holiday! I’m just having a lot of anxiety at the moment about TTC and we had planned this holiday around the possibility I might be pregnant so my anxious brain is in overdrive. I just need to build a bridge and get over myself! Hopefully being away will distract me! No symptoms here really, sore boobs but that’s normal for me pre AF. I didn’t have symptoms last month either though

Liz2681 · 04/10/2023 15:49

Only symptoms here (8DPO) are sore boobs (nothing extreme) and some mild cramping; I've also had a bit of lower back pain, but to be honest none of those are unusual for me around this time of my cycle so it might just be a sign of AF's impending arrival. BBT still has not dropped though so that's at least one positive sign!

Kicking myself as last time I got pregnant I was on holiday during TWW and wasn't paying any attention to my symptoms or tracking BBT so don't even have that to compare to 🤦🏻‍♀️

Kewchoc · 04/10/2023 15:29

How long is the long haul flight? Don't envy you though I struggle with a flight to cornwall 🤣

@Amberellalina Haha well you're not alone there... I've had some mild cramping today which I'm almost certain is just wind cause I ended up eating rubbish the last couple of days with work being so busy.. but obviously there's a part of my brain screaming that it's implantation!

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 04/10/2023 14:09

Long haul flight though... No symptoms here. I did feel some pain in my lower abdomen when trying to get to sleep last night, but it was probably too far to the side to be implantation, plus I've had a bad back these past few days so probably referred from that 😂

Anybody else?

Crazydogladie · 04/10/2023 11:45

I know the feeling, I can just about accept that there is no point doing early test other than with FMU so I’m back to making myself run straight to the bathroom in the morning so I pee before I can get a test out 😂I’m 7DP0 today and trying to hold out until 10DPO which is when I got my bfp last month. I’m going away that day so will have a nice long haul flight to obsess about the result whatever it is 🙄why do we do it to ourselves!! But also how can we not!

Kewchoc · 04/10/2023 11:33

Haha it's ridiculous isn't it. I was well aware before I even did the test that it would be clearly negative yet still carried on and did it anyway! I am feeling positive this month but regardless, it's still way too early to see anything anyway.

Has anyone started with any potential symptoms?

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 04/10/2023 10:35

I’m feeling the shifting of the obsession. I discovered that if you do a pdg test 7, 8, 9 and 10 dpo then it gives you a sense of whether your progesterone is playing ball this month. Obviously with that in mind I did another one this morning, and if I keep going it should get me safely to 11 dpo 😂

Liz2681 · 04/10/2023 10:18

@Kewchoc I know what you mean 😆 took everything not to test this morning at 8DPO, but instead I'm obsessing over my BBT, even buying a new thermometer this morning because the one I've been using feels really basic. Trying to take my mind off things but it's becoming more of a struggle!

Kewchoc · 04/10/2023 09:23

Well my rational thinking from yesterday has gone right out of the window and I've tested this morning at 7DPO 🙄🤣 obviously bfn!!! I don't even know why I bothered haha... spent a good 15 minutes squinting at the evap line before telling myself to get a grip

Kewchoc · 03/10/2023 21:05

Evening ladies and welcome @Liz2681 😊 sorry to hear of your loss but also, you have joined a good thread as all of us have been there like @Amberellalina said.

@Amberellalina good news about the pdg test, that must be making you feel quite positive? You're a stronger woman than I am if you can hold out til 11DPO before testing haha!

@moosey89 oh it's disgusting how much they can charge for these things!! Really hope you're not waiting too long to get some answers though!

@Agathapoirot don't be hard on yourself, I think most people in our situation's would find the situation with the colleague difficult but that absolutely does not mean that you're not progressing. There's no right or wrong way to work through these things. Sending you a big hug, it sounds like a rough day ❤️

I have had a very long and intense couple of days at work which has been very stressful but has also taken my mind off TTC completely which I think I've needed. I did find myself starting to symptom spot today but Ive definitely been a lot more rational than what I was last month. 6DPO today and I'm considering letting myself test at 8DPO just to satisfy the urge ha... I'm well aware it is still very early to test but not sure how much longer I will continue with this new found rationale!!

@Agathapoirot oh wow what a coincidence! My sister in law is due two weeks before when I would have been. She's still only a few weeks along so not really showing but not sure how I'll feel when she starts. Part of me is just hoping I'll be pregnant when we get to that point, otherwise not sure how I'll manage. We're a really close family as well and live in the same town so see each other quite often.

@moosey89 sorry to hear that. Sounds like you're doing the right thing by booking a private appointment though. Best of luck!

moosey89 · 03/10/2023 17:59

@Agathapoirot I'm with you - my boyfriends sister in law is due 4 weeks before when I would have been, it's so hard. I've also had to deal with the fact that I don't think I'm ovulating at all right now according to my progesterone levels, so decided to speed things up and book an appointment with a private fertility consultant to see if they can help.

Agathapoirot · 03/10/2023 17:28

@Liz2681 - exactly the same! My sister in law is due 2 weeks after I would have been, and it’s horrible. I desperately want to be excited and involved, but everytime I see her with a bigger bump it’s a gut punch.

Liz2681 · 03/10/2023 17:17

@Agathapoirot so sorry for your loss. Completely understand how you feel - my sister in law is expecting and we both found out we were pregnant two weeks apart, but unfortunately I miscarried shortly after. I love her but it just brings on an element of sadness for me every time we talk about her pregnancy, even though I'm also thrilled for her. It absolutely sucks, but I'm finding it helps to vocalise those feelings - these forums are helping so much!

Keeping fingers crossed for BFPs all around! x
