Hello all me and my partner have been trying to conceive for over 2 years I’m only 23 but he is in his 30s I have had my bloods done to check my hormones and it is “normal” and he has done a sperm test at home and has come back normal .
I know people have been trying for a lot longer but personally for me it’s making me depressed as my partner is older then me , my cycles are quite irregular 25-40 days I will end up going and seeing the doctor again just wanted to see what helped any of yous in the meantime
thankyou xx

Have you had your AMH (egg count) checked? I'm sure yours is fine as you're very young but it's always good to do. You can buy a Superdrug test kit and do it at home. It's also definitely worth getting your partners sperm tested now - especially as you've been trying for 2 years. You only need to be trying for a year without success to be referred to a fertility clinic

genesis92 · 28/08/2023 20:58

My husband and I tried for nearly 2 years, and I swear in the end it was us both taking Impryl (fertility medication) that did the trick.

It vastly improves sperm and egg quality.

@Sazxo just want to share some love. I've been ttc for 22 months and its absolutely horrific. I bet you're doing everything right because I know we are too - it's just not working. Definitely speak to your GP and get referred. Big hugs!

Sazxo · 28/08/2023 14:37

Thankyou for your advise xx

What I'm taking from this thread is that different things work for different people 😁Because my other half can't finish from sex, I have to track using opks so we can do home artificial insemination. I got pregnant after 3 months by tracking, sadly ended in mmc and this is now my first cycle trying again!

rllrsk8 · 28/08/2023 11:22

Please try not to worry. Chances are, you've just been unlucky, and it will all be fine. A few more tests couldn't hurt, if possible.

The good thing is, you have age on your side - I was 15 years older than you when I started trying! I'm sure that's not going to make you feel better right now, but you have every chance to conceive and start your family x

Sazxo · 28/08/2023 09:23

Thankyou for your kindness i will talk to my gp about further tests I just am paranoid there’s something wrong even though I know It can take people years x

@seven201 I can relate! Was laying floor insulation the week before I gave birth and 3 months later still don't have a kitchen. But you deal with it and it will all be worth it!

@Sazxo lots of love to you, it can be really tough when you just keep trying and not getting anywhere. But try not to worry. We also tried for over two years but I'm much older than you. I would be asking your gp for more tests, or go private if you have the means. Eventually I think I kinda gave up, started a new side hustle, a house extension and finally it happened.

Personally I hated ovulation testing, I never got a strong positive despite having scans that showed I was ovulating, so it just was just a bit depressing. But I did take my basal body temp daily and feel that helped me without focusing on conceiving too much.

Fingers crossed for you for some positive news soon.

Just really, really great sex. The best you can have.

Ah ok thanks 😁

I found once I started acupuncture/reflexology I got pregnant almost immediately after 7/8/9 cycles trying. 4 times.

Also, progesterone cream worked and I used a device called Ovusense to pinpoint ovulation. I tracked ovulation this way for 3 or 4 cycles then didn't use it the cycle I did get pregnant which was the following one

miniworry · 28/08/2023 08:22

OPK tests, and a shed load of vitamins worked for us after I read 'lt starts with the egg'.

I took a high vitamin D, Coq10, a high vitamin c, omega 3 as well as the conception multivits.

justanothermanicmonday1 · 28/08/2023 08:13

First time lucky for us on 3 occasions.

Loads of sex

Didn't tell partner when I was ovulating as didn't want it to feel like a task

Tracking ovulation

Legs in the air for 15 mins after every time.

Pregnacare conceive vitamins

Mummyme87 · 28/08/2023 08:01

I tried for 19months for this pregnancy #3, I did OPK religiously, knew my body inside and out, took all the extra vitamins the month we ttc OH halved his caffeine intake.. and that was the only change.

good luck

@SarahShorty what’s gourmet sex?

Edit: Sorry, I’ve seen your answer, and advised DH.

Edited

"Gourmet sex" has given me the ick big time.

Florenceatemycake · 28/08/2023 07:53

Sex every other day (ie not every day)

Nauseatedbean · 28/08/2023 07:39

Ovulation testing or being aware of the best times to have sex, as soon as I had a hint of EWCM I starting to dtd.

If you use lube, get rid of it or use some preseed instead. DH and I conceived the first month we stopped using normal lube. Apparently it can slow the swimmers down, which we didn’t know!

EffinMagicFairy · 28/08/2023 07:39

1st - IVF
2nd - 4 years later - Chiropractor for body alignment adjustments

Kellyaust · 28/08/2023 07:36

I also laid on my back cushion under my bum and legs in the air

smashburger · 27/08/2023 21:14

Lay on y back with my legs in the air for 10 minutes

Jackienory · 27/08/2023 19:38

Fresh pineapple and rum cocktails mixed with Caribbean sunshine and a good spanking. Worked for me 😄

I'm dying to know what gourmet sex is!!

Just really, really great sex. The best you can have.

seven201 · 27/08/2023 18:14

I'm 7 months pregnant with dc2 it took over 5 years of secondary infertility (including 3 surgeries, lots of failed ivf and 4 miscarriages) and although technically it was probably further fertility drugs and treatment to stop miscarriage it was also when we booked the builder to start an expensive extension. We'll be living in a building site with a newborn. Wish I'd booked the builder 5 years ago!

Relaxing, conceive plus, sex every other day, opks etc. none of that worked for us.

Relaxing. Not opk testing. Dtd every other day,two days in a row for ovulation day. Dtd from day 11-19 * Day 11, 13,15, 16, 19. Had less sex. Drinking dandeloin, rasberry and lemon balm tea daily. Leaving my legs in the air for a little more than 20 mins. Enjoyed dtd. Took only probiotics and folic acid daily-did away with all the other nonsense. Took 400mg of chasteberry every second day (instead of 800mg) daily, as I had a slightly short luteal phase. Ate a balanced diet, but enjoyed treats. Did light exercise ( walking only). Was on holidays from work,so had a good night sleeps. Resigned myself to the fact it could take months and months more. Booked hormone testing.

Best of luck to you 🥰
