so as it say in the subject I’m 11dpo and just got a bfn on a frer I didn’t use FMU but do you think I still have a change or has anyone got a positive stories about getting a BFN and then getting a BFP?

with both my boys I got a BFP by 10dpo so this is why I’m thinking I’m out!

Also if like me you bulk buy cheap tests then it's not really breaking the bank. I save my clear blues for after AF due x

DarkCrystal85 · 13/09/2023 17:23

It's that thing of if you can mentally manage knowing you are most probably going to get a negative then just do it. I usually start my secret testing around day 8 knowing full well it will probably be negative for a few days and it doesn't have a negative impact on me but if I don't test I get itchy feet and regret not testing. It depends if a bfn will help in the needed to test in a way. I can't settle after a week unless I do my nightly test then carry on with the evening lol.

Rightnow1245 · 13/09/2023 15:57

Yeah the first cycle I didn’t use it I totally missed ovulation :( I’m currently 7dpo and I want to hold off testing until 12dpo but I’m so impatient.. help me stop myself hahaha

Doing opk definitely increase the chance not exactly of pregnancy but questioning whether you dtd at the right time... I continue to use them because I was regular day 13 LH peak for months and then suddenly day 17 then 20 etc so for us needing to arrange with a 3rd party (donor) it means we aren't wasting time but as above if you dtd every couple of days anyway maybe try a cycle without using them.
The other reason I like to use opk is so I can then figure out when I'm due on, if I'd not have been doing opk the cycle I had peak at day 20 I'd have thought I was late after day 29 of cycle for 5 days and got myself worked up about being late but regardless when my ovulation is I ALWAYS have a 14 days phase from day of ovulation (15 days from peak test) so I do it to also save myself further anguish of being 'late' with bfn when in fact I'm not late at all just had a later ovulation.

Well I'm officially 1dpo now, I had my usual tender sore back yesterday and going by opk it's been a pretty straight forward day 14 ovulation (peak day 13) cycle woo

Yeah i know what’s you mean but if you don’t do opk you may miss ovulation unless you are a couple who DtD every other day.. we don’t and they worked so well last time I feel like I will keep going with them a little longer.. The thing that worries me is I’m a lot older now and much bigger than I was when ttc before

Yeah it’s defo hard not to overthink it.. is it the same partner as with your son? The first cycle I totally missed ovulation because I didn’t do opk and I had a really short cycle so must of ovulated just after my AF which is uncommon so I had no hope that month lol x

Yeah so I was on my own with my eldest but I knew my husband at the time I was pregnant. Then when DS1 was 3 months old we started seeing each other and then we had a DS2 together. Now we're trying for #3.

I had a huge peak whilst on holiday like 2 weeks ago. Dtd the day before and the day of the peak but, alas, no good.

I'm unsure whether to keep doing the opk's or throw caution to the wind. I just think I want it too much lol

Oh sorry @SchofeTee on to the next cycle last month when Af showed I was a little relieved as I feel the unknown is worse!? Was I right In thinking it’s your first cycle ttc?

sounds promising @DarkCrystal85 at least you have all covers covered! I’m doing good we managed to DTD around ovulation so let’s hope it worked.. my DS1 we feel pregnant cycle 1.. DS2 was cycle 2 so hopeDC3 is cycle 3!
I had a few cramps today but I had this last month around this time so not looking into anything tbh.. I’m only 5dpo so no point in testing yet x

Yeah first cycle trying. My DS1 was not planned and I was a single mum with him so it happened quickly. DS2 took 3 cycles and it only happened when I sort of gave up for a month. I think I need to just not worry about it so much. But if you don't worry then you think it won't happen 😫😂 it's so mental

Sorry I didn't see this question as moved onto page 2. I'm not currently pregnant, I found out I was pregnant in December but unfortunately had a mmc in Feb at 12 weeks and baby had died at 8 weeks, my body just didn't seem to get the memo. I started trying again in the April/may cycle and been here since with 3 CP which knocked my ovulations totally out of whack. Me and my wife have a 3 year old she carried after a 14 week loss and now it's my turn to try give our dd a sibling. Would have tried sooner but covid lockdowns and then moving house kinda got in the way. We see the donor as often as possible on around ovulation. Fingers crossed for all of us x

I see that makes a lot more sense now lol. It's agonising isn't it. I just want it to be instant as I'm not a patient person lol

Rightnow1245 · 11/09/2023 16:08

Here is when we DtD so don’t think we could do much more tbh

@SchofeTee Aw that's a bummer. The tww can drive you mad. I always try looking at the positive of a 2 weeks of no pressure once AF shows.

@Rightnow1245 I am ovulating today (ish) on day 14 of cycle after the highest peak LH I have ever seen yesterday haha. Saw donor on day 11 and again tonight and possibly day 16 but will see what's what by then I'm feeling hopeful at least seeing today will be good timing.

How are you getting on x

Oh yeah it can make you go crazy this TTC! @DarkCrystal85 what day of your. Cycle are you on? Did you manage to see your donor enough?
@SchofeTee did you do a test this morning?

I am currently 5dpo and going to try and wait until 12dpo to test.
I did get a BFP at 9 dpo with both boys but I think I should wait Sunday 😊

Tested yday and BFN. Literally just got AF.

Onto the next cycle! Wishing everyone else luck xxx

I am sure our bodies do it all intentionally to wind us up, we are more in tune with every twinge and pinch that we most probably feel every other month just pay no attention to. I've read some people don't get their bfp for a while after due AF so I always say you're not out till AF rears her head 😁 I was stark negative one day and then lines the next it shocked me as I'd classed myself as out lol x

That's reassuring. I'm currently trying for baby #3 so I don't even feel entitled to complain lol. My eldest I didn't even plan and it was a complete surprise so found out at like 7/8weeks. Second born I tried for 3 cycles but I never felt like this. But i got my bfp with him at 12dpo though it wasn't as targeted as i was using the smiley face opk's rather than the Premom strips. Are you currently pregnant then or do you mean the previous time? Xx

Aww @SchofeTee it can be so mentally draining. I didn't get my first bfp until day 13 in December and took 2 days for line to be nice and clear. Have you done anymore tests? I'm cycle 5 of trying since our 12 week loss in Feb and getting fed up now. I'm currently peak LH going by ovulation sticks it's literally sky rocketed today on day 13 of cycle which is nice as it was all over the place for months.

Fingers crossed for everyone else on this thread x

So I did a clear blue digital this morning and got a BFN. I'm 13dpo so part of me wonders if I could just be testing early. I guess not all hope is lost til I get AF. But I'm taking it as a definitive no. I shouldn't be upset as first month trying. But when you feel like your body is doing everything to suggest you are it's just a bit confusing 😢

Hi guys,

Thought I would wade in as the tww is also killing me. I'm ttc baby #3 and this is our first month actively trying. Been tracking ovulation for 3 cycles though. We dtd the day before my peak and the day after (when I ovulated). I feel so symptomatic but not sure if all in my head.
Had 3 negative tests but feel so much is happening so just not sure. AF due on Monday s going to do a clear blue 6 days early test tomorrow morning and see what it says.
11dpo today and got my bfp at 12dpo with DS2.
Hoping that I'm not going crazy!

DarkCrystal85 · 06/09/2023 01:38

Aw I send lots of baby dust your way, your days are around same as mine so fingers crossed for both of us 😁
I'm using sticks due to the ovulation being hard to time now and also I had ADHD and OCD and just like to know we are at least getting things done around the right time. There's been cycles we've seen donor when we really didn't need to and then missed days we should probably have seen him and it's not as fun as dtd and feels very clinical once we have the donation back home 🙈 I use the premom app to help tell me what the sticks say though I'm pretty regular with strength of peak sticks and length of peaks. I don't do temp as I am up with the 3 year old in the night... alot at the moment too I think it's the heat... also been in garden at daft times in the wee hours taking shots of Jupiter saturn and supermoons recently so I don't trust bbt.
Sending you lots of luck xxx

I’m on CD12 and got a positive on opk today this morning.. so guessing I’m guessing I will ovulate tonight or tomorrow 😊 we dtd cd9 and 11 and will hopefully DtD tongiht if we’re not wore out from our family holiday to butlins 😂😂
I am glad you’re seeing your donor more to cover all those days.. are you still going to do the OPK are not bother? X

Hi, thankyou for checking in. I got AF and now on day 8 of cycle so the tracking commences once again 😫 how are you getting on this cycle? I'm seeing donor this cycle on day 11, 13, 15 and 18 in hope that about covers my newly random ovulation days. I used to be so regular but I think the sheer amount of CP have muddled everything up xx
