Too scared to get excited

Got a early positive 5dt and I cant seem to let myself get excited as previous ones ended in miscarriage or didn’t work . I feel numb about it and I just can’t feel positive about cause I’m just thinking what if .. I really wanna be positive and happy but I’m just so scared it’s gonna happen again. I probably shouldn’t of tested so early but I feel like if I watch the lines it might help as no symptoms. Sorry for the rant

@Waitwaitwait22 you need to wait 2-3 days between tests. Hcg doubles roughly every 48-72 hours. So, tomorrow's should be at darker than yesterday's.

Even if it isn't, doesn't always mean anything, especially with the IC, as you can more or less dilute wee.

I tested positive yesterday with a faint line so I've not tested today and will test again tomorrow

Waitwaitwait22 · 20/08/2023 14:57

@russiandwarf havent took a frer yet they have just arrived so I’m trying to hold pee for a while and il test tonight with that . Have only taken easy@home tests yesterday and today but they haven’t seem to change either bottom is this morning 8dp5dt

Sorry couldn’t reply on the app for some reason. How are you doing today @Waitwaitwait22? Only had a few cramps tbh, any other symptoms are related to all the hormone tablets and injections I’m doing

Waitwaitwait22 · 19/08/2023 14:28

@Happyface82 ano i thought couldn’t be much different as been 48hrs between 5dp and today but il need to wait for my frer to arrive and test again and il know for sure then x

Happyface82 · 19/08/2023 14:16

I haven't got them any more. I deleted them as they were so faint!! When at the same time my frer was super obvious.

Happyface82 · 19/08/2023 14:13

Please don't compare tests. When so had IVF I tested with internet cheapies and frers. The internet cheapies took many days to darken!! It was unreal. I'll try and find the photos so you can see the difference.

Waitwaitwait22 · 19/08/2023 14:06

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess yeah I’m waiting on my frer to arrive they haven’t come on time and none in local shops so hopefully they’ll arrive tonight or toMoro to test again and il keep going with the easy at home ones to

Just so you know @Waitwaitwait22 easy @ home tests aren't as sensitive as frer.

Frer are something like 6.5 and easy @ home are a 10miu, so it's possible your hcg has doubled.

If you're checking early pregnancy line progression, you should use the same tests, so just stick with the easy at home ones and see if it's darker in 2 days.

Waitwaitwait22 · 19/08/2023 13:53

@readingismycardio yeah I’ve had one of them also so makes it hard when doing it all over again x

@readingismycardio i will have to wait til Monday/Tuesday now if line still there I will do it . Done betas in past that confirmed lines last time so I feel like my body knows it’s not progressing but we’ll see

I choose to have hope for you! If you can't do it, I'll take the hope Flowers

I don't believe in this line progression thing. You should get blood drawn for beta hcg that should double every 48h, this is the only reliable indicator until you can scan! Please don't convince yourself that you had a chemical.

Keeping my fingers crossed! Keep us posted!

Waitwaitwait22 · 19/08/2023 13:28

@russiandwarf do u have any symptoms? I had a bit from day 3 but since yesterday nothing so makes me think it’s definitely a chemical. The lines just aren’t dark enough I know it’s still early but thought be bit darker than day 5

I am 11dp5dt and my tests were the same as yours last week. I tested day 4,5,6,7 and all were very faint and I was convinced it was a chemical like my last round. 8dpo was suddenly more positive than the others and it’s been a slow progression but today is OTD and strong positive. Keeping everything crossed for you that yours goes the same way 🤞 I’m also scared to get excited, so I get it

Waitwaitwait22 · 19/08/2023 12:51

Confirmed what I thought a chemical aware not same test but don’t think would matter 48 hours later

It’s understandable you are worried. I’m 18 weeks and still worry so I totally understand xx

GodspeedJune · 18/08/2023 16:14

I have done IVF so totally understand how anxious and nerve wracking this time is. It’s ok if you can’t get excited yet, just try to practice lots of self care and being gentle on yourself. The lines look the same to me, not fainter today. Sending the absolute best of luck to you.

Waitwaitwait22 · 18/08/2023 16:11

@Happyface82 thanks I can get it done but I’m only 6dp5dt so I’m very early before test day isn’t til next Wednesday . I know I’m really worried but trying not to be thanks @Infertilitylife

OP posts:
Infertilitylife · 18/08/2023 16:10

I think it looks similar too to day 5 - my clinic told me that every 48 hours it should darken so I would try again tomorrow. Your line is still much stronger than my 6dp5dt line.

Happyface82 · 18/08/2023 14:48

They look the same. It takes 48 hours to see a difference. Where are you located? Can you have a beta privately? It's what I did with mine for peace of mind. But over here (Greece) it's easy to have them done and they aren't expensive.

Waitwaitwait22 · 18/08/2023 13:33

Thanks @Beautifulsunflowers after my early miscarriage last year it’s just hard to think positive again 2nd round of ivf and worried as symptoms are gone x

OP posts:
Beautifulsunflowers · 18/08/2023 13:29

they look just the same to me.
I had ivf 21 years ago and after such heartbreak before I decided to take each day as it comes and be excited for that day. My mil at the time said not to get too excited as it was such early days but I was determined not to let her negativity get me down!
Anyway it did progress and he’s now a strapping lad of 21!
Good luck op - try to enjoy the moment that it right now!

Waitwaitwait22 · 18/08/2023 13:24

I think I may have been right not to get excited looks like a chemical . Bottom pic is this morning pee 6dp5dt
