@CAGH03 Still plenty of time for the symptoms. Just wait until 6 weeks! Use the bloat to encourage someone to let you sit down. Hand on hip always works well 🤣

I'm still starving!!

CAGH03 · 31/08/2023 14:23

And I always feel STARVING 🤣😭x

@LeopardLover that's why I'm worrying as I don't have many symptoms, just a bit of nausea every now and then and bad gas🤣 and a few foods taste different 🤣 apart from that I feel pretty much normal🥲 oh and VERY emotional😬x

@LeopardLover work have been quite good about it and have taken me off a few early shifts due to the sickness. Feel pretty good today, getting very excited! My back is killing me tho as I'm so bloated! I used like 4 clearblue and 2 digital🤣 I've got 2 Poundland tests in my bag🤣 I'll feel much more relaxed once I get my 8 week scan. Told my FH about the scan and he's so excited bless him🥰 I need to stay away from tests🤣 currently on the train to work but there's nowhere to sit 😭 and I look about 6 months due to the bloating🤣x

@CAGH03 I'm so glad your boss is so supportive and you switched jobs to something more pregnancy friendly haha. 😊 How are you feeling today?

With my son I only tested twice, and then didn't believe it until 8 weeks when I had my scan due to hardly any symptoms!

This time, I tested non-stop for the first week 🤣 I used those cheapy easy@home strips, a FRER, a Boots test and eventually a digital 🙈 I felt reassured after my first scan at 8 weeks.

I'd recommend stepping away from the tests until you are maybe 5 weeks then do a digital and quit. Because it just causes anxiety 😅 I know how hard it is! Let those symptoms bring you some reassurance xx

CAGH03 · 31/08/2023 14:04

@LeopardLover really random question, how did you feel once you found out? I can't seem to believe it and can't stop testing!😭 my first scan is getting booked in at the end of September and I've done like 7 tests🤣 I'm just so worried somethings going to go wrong 😩❤️x

@LeopardLover I changed to do reception in a hotel, but it's an hours journey from home as I don't drive. The job itself is super easy. I called in sick today as I had to get up at 6 but felt super sick and exhausted. I explained to my boss that I'm pregnant and he was like congratulations! And has put me on the afternoon shift for tomorrow as I tend to get sickness in the morning. And I can't stop eating!😩 especially ice cream and ice lollies 😭. Did an opk out of interested and was kinda shocked at the result 🤣x

@CAGH03 Actually, just a thought! Does your role include a cleaning aspect? I can't remember! If so, might be worth keeping this in mind as there will need to be a risk assessment as some point!

LeopardLover · 30/08/2023 07:40

@Annapolis35 A regular cycle is definitely a blessing and you're right, you will get pregnant - it's just a case of when! ❤️ I had stress last time I was TTC and it took a little extra so I do think it plays a part. Even if minor!

I hope you enjoy your week off 😉 x

LeopardLover · 30/08/2023 07:38

@CAGH03 Oh you poor thing! I agree with @Annapolis35 -ask for anti sickness meds!

How long is your probation? If it's three months I'd try and wait until you pass as it's such a new job.

I know it's really hard 😔 and we shouldn't have to worry about our jobs!

I haven't told work yet, I'm probably going to wait until 16 weeks. I'd rather wait until 20 weeks but I have a bump already 🙈

Annapolis35 · 30/08/2023 06:32

maybe speak to your gp about anti sickness meds. It depends on your employer whether you feel comfortable or not. I did before my mmc but I have a very supportive manager. You are under no obligation to inform them until later on.

CAGH03 · 29/08/2023 23:33

@justanothermummma first scan should be around 8 weeks so 4 more weeks to go. I'm still very early but the nausea is something else 🤣 I don't want them to get annoyed at me for keep going outside. I've got plenty of pictures and videos of my tests if they need to see🤣 I just don't want them to fire me for being pregnant, that happened to my mum and the last thing I need is to lose another job x

OP posts:
justanothermummma · 29/08/2023 22:50

@CAGH03 I say this because I told my employer both times early and they weren't willing to 'believe' it until a scan.

justanothermummma · 29/08/2023 22:48

@CAGH03 As long as you can, definitely hold on until the scan at least?

CAGH03 · 29/08/2023 21:30

Hey girls, how's everyone doing? 🤍
How long should I wait to tell work about bean? I know it's too soon but the sickness is awful and keep having to go outside for fresh air 🥲x

I’m so sorry the sickness has been so hard @LeopardLover i really hope it gets easier now. Sounds like a tough pregnancy and not easy to go through at all. Have you got anti sickness pills off your gp at all? I remember getting them during a kidney infection when the antibiotics made me sick and they really helped (not comparable at all!) ❤️

yes some perspective is so important. I’m so lucky in that I get regular cycles and have the opportunity to keep trying so I always have got to keep that in mind and I’m in a much better position than many others. I know I can get pregnant too so one day it’ll work. We had so much stress for a while so I’m sure that impacted on egg quality! I had no idea about booze either. Just gotta keep on trucking. It’s so nice not having to think about ttc for a week though 😂

LeopardLover · 28/08/2023 22:20

@Annapolis35 Thank you! I used to get so upset when I was sick, and cry. I don't enjoy it now but it's way easier so that's a silver lining 🤣💜

Enjoy this down period for sure. It's so great you opened up to your manager and she opened up to you too 🥰 That Xena post really helps put things in perspective. Hopefully that perfect egg is ready to pop out soon 😍 I had a little bit of a binge drinking session back in Feb and felt so mad at myself once I realised it could impact egg health for 3 months! Once that 3 months was up, I fell pregnant. Maybe coincidence but I feel like I had a better chance that month as it was a healthier egg (they take 3 months to mature) 😊x

It's official 🥳 4 weeks today, baby is growing lungs and a placenta! It's all so interesting but still doesn't feel real!
I hope everyone is okay, what stage is everyone at with their cycles? Sending you alll baby dust🤰🏼❤️xx

Congratulations ❤️❤️❤️ you must be over the moon

CAGH03 · 28/08/2023 11:14

@LeopardLover thankyou! I'm just super excited! It just doesn't feel real tho after trying for so long so I don't want to risk anything that could make me lose it! How are you feeling now? I found out at 3 weeks and 5 days and I'm already feeling so sick and tired!! And absolutely STARVING🤣x

Annapolis35 · 28/08/2023 08:58

ahhhh no sorry about all the sickness @LeopardLover that’s so draining and you must be exhausted.

I am alright thanks, my AF just finished so in that good place of not really thinking about trying at the mo. I am very much trying to keep in mind that Xena post and think that the odds are soooo low each cycle so the more we try the better the odds and not put focus on an individual month. I told my boss too that we are trying, she’s a friend and supported me lots (above and beyond) during the mmc and she told me it took them 15 months and it was a bit of a relief to actually speak to someone in real life about what’s going on.

LeopardLover · 28/08/2023 08:29

@CAGH03 Oh how sweet! 🥰 Well done for staying off the drink and cigarettes 👌🏻💜 I'd recommend waiting until 8 weeks if you can so you'll definitely see a heart beat. Getting a scan earlier can be really stressful as you don't always see much and then you worry! I always wanted a May baby, it's such a gorgeous time of year.

@Annapolis35 Thank you so much! It proves every pregnancy is different 🙈 I was being sick at midnight last night which isn't ideal 😅 but I know I'm really lucky. ☺️ Hoping the bleeding stays away and my combined screening blood results are okay!

How are you feeling? X

Annapolis35 · 28/08/2023 07:12

Congratulations @CAGH03 and I hope you have a healthy and happy 9 months.

@LeopardLover 12 weeks! Wonderful and can’t believe it’s gone so fast. I’m sorry you have had a scary time though but hopefully from now on things will be a bit easier.

CAGH03 · 28/08/2023 05:21

@LeopardLover you're due the day after my FH birthday🥰 I should be due around 6-12th may. One app says the 6th, another says 12th and the other says 26th so going to call the doctors today to try and get an early scan, just as it took so long for me to fall, I'm so scared about losing it! 😩 haven't touched any alcohol or cigarettes tho!🥳x
