@Annapolis35 that was a great post, I really like the logic behind betting on red or black. It really is a miracle! I mean to DTD on the right day, at the right time, with the right egg and the right sperm that were the perfect healthy match.. it's just mind blowing! And before you know it you've got a bowling ball for a belly, you're tired, craving ice and then 5 years later you have a DC that answers back, is learning to read and tell time and uses bigger words every day. It's mental and wonderful.

I sometimes feel 'accidental' babies (my first DD was one, I was on the pill!) really are miracles, against all odds and literal lack of trying, they fought to be here and they're a blessing!

I honestly wish anyone trying all the luck I can give virtually. I was completely unprepared when we started ttc for DD2, in my mind it was so simple and yet the waiting was crippling and confusing. Considering so many of us try month on month with no success, it's crazy to comprehend that people have babies at all! When you read into it, it's so complex and yet babies appear all the time, that one night you had a glass on wine extra, or those antibiotics that meant your pill didn't work and BAM a baby. And yet... you have those doing everything right, eating well, tracking cycles, going through the trials of IVF. It really is luck, it's as unfair as it is fair. I just hope and wish you all get the outcome you desire. I'm lucky with my 2 DDs and if that's all I have, it's more than enough, but the hope still remains, it just depends on red or black as to whether we have another. What a mindfuck!

❤️❤️❤️

Good morning girls, how's everyone feeling?
Been getting period like cramps over night which has felt very confusing as my period isn't due for another 6 days 🤷🏼‍♀️ and my boobs are so full and sore, it hurts to wear a bra 🥲 my bbt is still sitting at 37c so guess I'll just see if it drops or not🤷🏼‍♀️ really wanting to test and feel like every morning I'm wasting fmu🤣 but I know it's too early to test at 8dpo and I promised myself I wouldn't test until my period was a day late this month but all I can think about is testing 🥹xx

Sounds really promising and all the right signs. Keeping my fingers crossed for you ❤️

@CAGH03 I'm so happy you found something new! This new job apparently has a generous maternity package, I've previously only ever got SMP so I'm happy to wait and suss things out so I'm eligible for a better package. I suppose it's part of the journey! When it's meant to be for us, it will be and I'm already excited! 😂 x

CAGH03 · 23/08/2023 21:59

@Annapolis35 I hope so!🤞🏼x

i started spotting right on time so AF will be coming in a couple of days and my RHR has nose dived. Oh well! On we go… I am quite relieved by that post yesterday and just hoping the more we try the better the odds of the right egg and sperm meeting.

good luck @CAGH03 all promising signs!

CAGH03 · 22/08/2023 22:45

@justanothermummma that's completely understandable! That's the same reason we were going to stop last month, but luckily I managed to get a new job🥳 7dpo today, been cramping, very sore boobs and usually by this time of the month, this is going to be to much info, but during and after sex hurts, as my cervix feels really low and hard. It didn't hurt at all tonight, but had very slight cramps afterwards. Been very nauseous today too and very tired. Not convinced this is our month, but I'm so excited for when it does happen!🤍🤍xxxxx

Thank you @Vic231 the relief is real!

justanothermummma · 22/08/2023 20:56

@CAGH03 I'm okay with AF this time, now really is not the time to have a baby, having just lost a job and not having started a new one, need time to settle into a new way of life first, but can't wait to see your babies happen! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍

Bubblesandtroubles · 22/08/2023 20:05

@Annapolis35 that post is a really good read. Thanks for sharing!
We've talked it through here and decided we both want to keep trying a little bit longer but still very much got half an eye on it not taking over our lives (That more applies to me than husband 🙄)
I followed @LeopardLover advice and bought Agnus Castus from Holland & Barrett at lunchtime. We are both on a bit of a post holiday health kick which hopefully won't hurt our chances either! Xx

totally agree on all we can do is control our health and look after ourselves @Favofit

I know! I remember being terrified for many many years of getting pregnant. If only I knew…! 😂😂

I just assumed we only had to choose a preferred month 😅. Also being told I had child bearing hips gave me a false sense of security (never thought of it as a compliment btw)

Joining in.

@DuchessofSuffolk literally!! Our whole lives were told not to have any unprotected sex. Here I am having alllll the unprotected sex 7 months in and still nothing (bar an early mc on cycle 2)

So sorry to hear your mc.

Hopefully all our BD will get us some lasting positive results ❤️

I’m alright. Just don’t understand how it’s so difficult! School had me thinking if I look at a boy I’d get knocked up!

😂 same here , hold hands and that's it

I know right! But at least the luck part takes it out of your hands a bit? We do what we have to and the rest is just down to nature, which is definitely hard to just let go (I know I know!). It definitely helps puts things in perspective how little odds there are of a successful pregnancy! Now I think every pregnancy is a miracle 😂

This !! Every pregnancy is truly a miracle. It takes so much and there are so so many hurdles . At least we can try to control our health ❤️

@Favofit i know! I just read a helpful post on another thread about it all being down to luck which did help me so I’ll share

“XenaTheWarriorPrincess · Today 14:32
@DJT30 Even in completely healthy couples, the chances of pregnancy each cycle when every is timed right is about 30% iirc.

Sperm meeting egg likely happens more than we realise, almost every time, but that's just the first hurdle.

Not every sperm and egg are made equally and, unfortunately, the majority of fertilised eggs don't make it past a few days.

Chromosomal abnormalities are the most common reason and occur in perfectly healthy couples, it's just a case of playing the odds. The longer you are ttc the more likely you'll get a sperm egg pairing that works, but if you're unlucky it can take a while.

It's literally luck, that's it. If your fertility tests are all clear, there's nothing much more you can do. You might as well be in a casino betting red/black on roulette; you can get it right first time or get it wrong 8 times in a row, the odds reset each time to 50/50.

I also completely understand how you feel about a friend getting there before you. She just got lucky and you haven't yet. Try to remember that there's nothing either one of you could have done differently to change that, it was pure luck.

You'll get there, just keep trying and try (as hard as I know it is) to be patient.

I got my bfp on cycle 6 and I consider myself lucky it didn't take longer.”

That is so useful, thank you so much for this! It's really wild that the odds are that low even with healthy people involved and no issues. The fact that it's a lot of luck involved makes it a bit scary and I will never understand how the planet is overpopulated 😅

@Favofit It’s tough isn’t it? Part of me thinks we should maximize our chances by tracking but the other part of me always know when I ovulate - it is day 17 or 18 like clockwork every month so I really don’t need to. And does it matter if I am a day out with a guess as we always regularly have sex around then. It doesn’t help with anxiety at all and ttc in general is just torture for mental health - especially when it’s been going on for a while. I just don’t like how this has dominated my life for a year and a half

That's such a valid point ! To think I spent years when I was younger trying not to get pregnant , didn't once think that getting pregnant could be this complicated.

@Annapolis35 could still be a chance . If not , then next cycle it is ❤️ I'm trying to think like you too but it's really hard. I'm so tempted to start tracking again but worried about my anxiety 😟

Favofit · 22/08/2023 15:17
