Clomid and twins

Hi,

New to this forum. I'm hoping for some guidance about Clomid and the possibility of conceiving twins.

I've had issues with fertility for over 5 years, just been diagnosed with a medical condition that can't be treated effectively while pregnant due to the nature of my condition.

My first pregnancy was high risk and needed hospitalisation 3 times.

The consultant warned me about the possibility of conceiving twins. I expressed, with my personal medical situation, I would not have an issue having twins and possibly prefer if I could have twins and then I'm done with pregnancies. (Don't worry I've done all the reading on risks and am not taking anything lightly)

Considering my consultant didn't express concerns with my preference of having twins (as long as it's not more than two in his opinion), I would like to ask if anyone has ever tried to conceive twins on Clomid? And what days you took it. I've been told day 2-6, and then scan to see follicle size etc.

Also, my partner is fully aware of this and onboard, as the thought of me going through pregnancy multiple times worries him too.

Any guidance/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks xx

I had no scans. I had to have blood test at day 21 and I called up for my results every month as it was clearly working. The first scan was around 12 weeks as standard.

Hiya, im currently on clomid 50mg days 3-7. Im on day 4 today so tomorrrow will be last day. Fingers crossed I conceive this month. Im greatful if I conceive the one baby but im not going to lie I would absolutely love to have twins!!
Clomid increases your chances of ovulating and also hyperovulating so it does increase the chances slightly of having multiples.

To be honest it was 9 years ago. I think I was told the same as you and the same dose. I also fell pregnant again naturally I year after my first was born. I'd kept my Clomid for a second time but there was no need.

Ah okay. Thanks.

Did they do scans for you?

I had to take Covid. I fell pregnant on the second round with twins.

What days did you take yours?

I'm told to take 50mg day 2-6

@onemonth ah wishful thinking. I would love a twin pregnancy . I'm on cycle 3 but each time I've only ever produced one follicle . I'm taking 50mg days 3-7

I know.. I'm at the age where I can't wait around too long and let my condition deteriorate. I hope you get the news you wish for soon.

What's the max size of your follicles?

They've said they will do one scan on day 12 and if, only one/two follicles are dominant, I can ttc this cycle, If more, they may do more scans on day 14/15 (I think)
