I have a 2 year old and looking to start TTC later year. I made great friends on here last time when trying to conceive in 2020 so thought I would start a thread for anyone who is trying to conceive whilst looking after another child (in my case a toddler ekkk)

So I thought my period had arrived last night. Had a bit of brown sticky bleeding but it seems to have stopped now. Still testing very very negative on a test though. Im pretty sure I'm 10dpo based on the ovulation tests. Pretty sure I'm out but is there still hope? I am so confused. With my daughter we didn't find out I was til 6 weeks as I had a short bleed and so assumed that was my period messed up by COVID

KM8 · 21/09/2023 21:46

@Cressie2 🥰

Cressie2 · 21/09/2023 21:40

@KM8 the digital are super accurate and pick up on your LH surge every month. Let’s hope we finally get our baby number 2s. Feel very very lucky to even have one right now.

KM8 · 21/09/2023 21:32

@Cressie2 I'm using Flo too, but my periods have been so irregular since coming off the pill that I'm guessing that's not helping the data either.
I've just been using the strip tests but thinking of getting the clear blue digital ones?
I fell pregnant within the first month of trying with my 1st so I thought it would be easy this time round too!

KM8 · 21/09/2023 21:27

@sunflower1988 oh no, but onwards to the next month ❤️ TTC is sending me bonkers too, literally all I keep thinking of. Keep ovulation testing but still negative here 🤦‍♀️

Cressie2 · 21/09/2023 21:27

@sunflower1988😞it’s really tough when AF comes, I felt that way last month and hope you’re ok. Next month will be your month. Keep hopeful and enjoy the wine until then!

@KM8 i only use one App for ovulation tracking (used Ovia with my firstborn and now using Flo which is really good). I also don’t bother with temperature testing as some many things can vary your temperature each day and think it will add unnecessary stress. Relying on the clear blue digital ovulation test which worked really well with my first. Caught my peak time much better than any app or temperature. I’ve also cut out caffeine and alcohol whilst trying.

Anyone else using Clearblue digital ovulation?

It clearly didn’t work for my last cycle but hoping this time round it will 🤞🏻

Bubblesandtroubles · 21/09/2023 21:08

@sunflower1988 I think TTC sends us all doolally 🙈

In sorry AF made an unwelcome appearance. I hope you at least got to have a nice cuppa or something when you came out of the toilet! (And something stronger when you got home from work)

I was 4 days late this month but with negative tests so knew I wasn't pregnant. By the time it arrived I was just pleased to see it as I'd gone through my upset and disappointment and just wanted to move on to the next month.

I've got proceive vitamins and a fertilily cup thing this month. Throwing everything at it!

Xx

Bells3032 · 21/09/2023 21:00

@sunflower1988 I felt the same way. I was convinced that it was gonna happen this month. I don't have AF yet but my left boob is cold and spent a lot of time in the loo today which usually happens the day before af. I'm gonna be so upset when she arrives

sunflower1988 · 21/09/2023 20:34

You know when you're convinced this will be the month,I swear I felt implantation happen! Clearly TTC has sent me doolally

sunflower1988 · 21/09/2023 20:33

Af has just come,I cried in the toilet at work today...so not great 😆

KM8 · 21/09/2023 17:23

Just a hello to everyone.....how are we all getting on? 🥰

Cressie2 · 18/09/2023 21:12

Congratulations @Bumblebeemee! ❤️

RedRobyn2021 · 18/09/2023 20:54

@Bumblebeemee congratulations 🥳

RedRobyn2021 · 18/09/2023 20:53

@Bubblesandtroubles

That's exactly what I've been doing. It's quite draining, hope can be the worst sometimes.

Mummysparrow · 18/09/2023 17:49

I had blood tests last week to check my iron, vitamin b12 and thyroid levels and results are normal but that isn't surprising as I take 200% of the RDA for Iron. However my patient access only shows TSH serum levels and I doubt they will only do that level and not T3 and T4. They generally hold back results that aren't normal from patient access until the doctor speaks to you so I wondering if they have checked T3 and T4 but they aren't normal and need to speak to me first. I would like to get on top of that before I get pregnant 😩

@Confusedddddddd yes I do the same! I got pregnant on holiday last time so hoping that would happen this time (It didn't!) But I was defo drinking a bit, not thinking about trying and relaxed but those are hard conditions to replicate with a 2yo 😆
I go back through my pregnancy app to check what symptoms I got on which day when I conceived last time...TTC has definitely got me losing it 🥴

sunflower1988 · 18/09/2023 17:35

@Bubblesandtroubles in the same situation (ish!)due on in 2 days, all tests bfn but I'm still holding on to hope! Why does nature do this to us 😪

deliwoman1 · 18/09/2023 14:27

Congrats @Bumblebeemee ! That looks positive to me. I don’t think there’s any surefire way to predict a chemical unless you’re having bloods taken. Will have my fingers crossed for you! x

Bumblebeemee · 18/09/2023 13:06

Thanks, it does seem too good to be true so I’m trying not to get too excited just yet. I’ll give it another day or 2 and if no sign of AF I’ll get a digital.

Twdfn123 · 18/09/2023 12:45

Bumblebeemee · 18/09/2023 11:17

I never ever ever thought this would happen twice. AF due today but I’m not sure I’ll believe it until I’m late. What are the chances of a chemical?

Congratulations, thats defo a positive! Although i would say it seems quite light for day of your missed period, but i know every test is different. Hope it sticks for you!! xx

Bubblesandtroubles · 18/09/2023 07:12

@RedRobyn2021 nope. Still no sign. Which means I'm ridiculously torn between holding onto a teeny shred of hope on the one hand. And willing it to hurry up so that we are on to the next month- but not wanting to jinx it by willing it not to have worked- even though it definitely hasnt IYSWIM.
I think the Agnus Castus has extended my cycle. Messed with my head a bit though! Xx

RedRobyn2021 · 17/09/2023 22:04

@Bubblesandtroubles AF come for you yet? I'm still waiting

Bumblebeemee · 16/09/2023 18:54

Ooh congrats to those with positive tests! I missed a few trying to catch up while I was in work 😂 AF due here on Monday but none of the usual pms symptoms yet. DS has had his first proper tummy bug so the last few days have been grim. No idea how people manage these situations with 2!

KM8 · 16/09/2023 11:50

@FirstTimeMumma2021 My cycles since stopping my pill have been 36 days then 26 days so I'm a bit all over the place to be honest! But even though I've put the same data in for both cycles on the apps it's saying my fertile days differ, I've got some ovulation test to try testing with those to see it helps.
My cycles were always 28-30 days before but years of the pill has changed them haha one confused Mumma here!
One app says my fertile window starts tomorrow fingers crossed
