Hi I'm brand new to Mumsnet. I'm 26 TTC for first baby, been trying a couple of months, was on pill for 8 years before this so appreciate it will likely take some time. Found waiting for af a bit tough last month, tested a lot. I know most people have much longer waits before positive test but would love to share the journey with others. Hope this is the right forum for this!

Hello! On cycle 5 now since miscarriage last year TTC no 2. Currently 9dpo, tested this morn and negative 🫣 altho it's early I feel in out as iv always got a postive at this stage (been pregnant 4 times, have 1 child)

@Nicole10098 my friend has PCOS and took her a few cycles to get pregnant with her first and then she fell pregnant 1st cycle trying for second there, so it's definitely possible! If you're getting a period like clockwork then you're ovulating which is great, I think the issue is some people don't ovulate or done ovulate frequently which makes it harder

Hi everyone!!

Do you mind if I join the chat?
Not so new to Mumsnet (or ttc for that matter-on cycle 10, 11dpo but pretty sure I'm out this month).
@GHJ - I think no matter what month you're on the excitement of 'could this be it?' Is still there, as is the disappointment when it's a BFN. I'm keeping everything crossed for you all!
Also looking for others in the same journey 😊.

Hi girls! Lovely to meet you all, I’m new here too. 36 and ttc first time. Currently 10 dpo (I think - the opk confuse the hell out of me) and on day 30 of what is normally a short cycle. Tested yest and bfn and having some brown spotting today so think i’m out.

@Abs014 it’s nice to hear positive stories of hope!

I’m older than you and have no kids yet so I’m pushing it!! Fingers crossed 🤞

Abs014 · 05/07/2023 08:02

Hi everyone! I’m also new here and this is my 2nd month TTC! I’m 33, touching 34 and already have a teenager (I know the age gap will be insane and I must be mad 😂).

I’m usually like clockwork with my cycle (28 days average) but last month I was 9 days late and it drove me insane! I’m now 9DPO, haven’t tested yet and the battle between my heart and head is crappy! My heart tells me it’s my month, I’ve hit all the dates, there’s every chance I could be pregnant, but my head is trying to convince me I’m out already!

As for PCOS, my best friend was told very young she had it, and was told her chances of pregnancy were extremely low. But…she had her first child (completely unexpected) a couple of years ago so there every hope!

Best of luck to you all! 😊

Hi @Nicole10098 really sorry to hear about your pcos. I'm afraid I can't offer any advice on this but am sure there will be lots of mums on here that have been through pcos and can share their experience, is there a pcos thread? Have your doctor's been any help with it? You've done amazing with your weight loss I'm sure that will really help too. I can completely empathise with the age part though, I'm 26 so a couple of years older but I feel a bit disappointed in myself that despite being young it's not happening as quick and easy as I'd like. When we started TTC I knew it might take a while having been on the pill for ages and having had irregular bad periods beforehand and thought best to start trying now in case it did, but realistically I was disappointed I wasn't one of these women who gets pregnant the first month off the pill. Lovely to have everyone here's company on the journey.

hi everyone I’m Nicole, I’m 24 and I have PCOS.

I’ve always been told I’d be a great mum as I’m good with children, I’ve always wanted kids but was put on the pill at 13 due to severe periods and was on that up until I stopped at 16 to give myself a break and try to loose some weight … I was over 22st at 20 I’m now 24 ,I’m 10st 5lbs I’ve dieted and exercised. I get a period every month like clockwork and I’m still getting nowhere I know people older are going to say as I’ve been told many times before “you’re young , live your life.” But honestly I want to be a young mum and watch my child grow up and hit most big milestones such as marriage kids ect and not be 70/80. I also find it really hard when everyone is getting pregnant not even trying it’s so hard and I feel no one understands me and my reasoning but I’ve been looking into some things to reverse my PCOS and I’ve seen some powdered supplements but when added together in my basket it’s £50+ I want to know if they’re is any tips on TTC with PCOS

any help appreciated:)

@Underthesea88 I can see how easy it must be to get fatigued with it, I thought I wouldn't worry too much to start with, thought we wouldn't actively ttc just stop trying not to, etc. But that didn't last long! Think once I came off pill I just am so excited for it to happen. Found AF and all the negative tests really disappointing last month, I over test and too early too. But positive (and hopefully relaxed!) vibes for this month. Lovely to have others to talk to, especially at this stage!

Hello everyone I’m cd9 and ovulation should be this weekend. And just my luck I currently have a mild yeast infection hopefully it clears soon. This is cycle 12 for first baby.

Underthesea88 · 04/07/2023 20:37

@GHJ Yes I do ovulation testing. I’m starting to see where I’m ovulating now and can kind of predict it. I think I got ttc fatigue for a few months tbh! I am around 29 days in cycle length too. It’s good to have others to chat to.

GHJ · 04/07/2023 20:33

Hi @Underthesea88 lovely to hear from you. Sorry to hear you've been trying for over a year really hope it happens soon for you. Do you use ovulation testing? I've been tracking my cycle but not used any ovulation testing yet so not sure where to start with that. My cycle was always quite irregular but seems to have maybe settled to a 29d thereabouts cycle since coming off the pill. I'm cd14. Best wishes.
