Morning everyone,

I am in cycle 6 of this weird and wonderful TTC journey.

I'm starting this thread for anyone that needs a safe place to rant, share, ask question or anything else. Hopefully we can support each other.

This is cycle day 3 for me. My AF wasn't actually due until 30th June but decided to show up a whole 6 days early so here we are!

And as hippy as this sounds, I had a reading at the beginning of the year and the lady was adamant July was my month so we'll see I guess! xx

@elle18310 thank you so much!!! I've been struggling a lot with various issues with my periods since my c section 2 years ago and I've just found out (through Google tbf) that I may be suffering with low estrogen. I have a gp appointment as now we are ttc again I'm worried it will effect fertility.
I could be told its something very different to a hormonal imbalance but whatever it is, I'm keen to get it sorted!!!

elle18310 · 06/07/2023 11:45

@Naomi2023 heyyyyy! xx
I've read that too but I don't know how true it is?? I'm hopeful for you! And my fingers are tightly crossed! You doing ok? xx

Welcome @Knock123 and @Maybebaby12345 I've been trying to do my temp too. I've actually remembered every day this moth so far which is better than last month. If anything, I think I just quite like having something to focus on and I quite like being a bit geeky with the science behind it!
5dpo @Maybebaby12345 we'll do the TWW with you! If there is anything you wanna chat about, feel free xx

Hi everyone!!! Can I join?? I'm 5dpo and ttc no5!!! After an emergency c section 2 years ago, I've had a lot of changes to my periods and I'm not sure how ttc is going to go for us this time. We've been trying for a few months now.

Knock123 · 06/07/2023 08:28

Is anyone doing their temp? I've been worried I've not been ovulating and have been temping this month just to see and according to my temps I ovulated cd10! I had sex cd8 but thinking it's unlikely I've caught it this month but is likely to be a short cycle so not long until I can try again.
How are those of you doing in the 2ww?

Naomi2023 · 04/07/2023 19:50

Hey @elle18310 found the thread & also hi to everyone else 👋
I'm on cd7 today after an early loss & was the first month ttc again after an ectopic pregnancy so I'm hoping to have abit more luck this month and it be third time lucky 🙏
seen alot of people have concieved again following cycle after an early loss and that you can be more fertile after one but not sure on any science behind that. Anyone have any experience on this? Xx

winterbabyrose · 04/07/2023 14:48

Hey, can I join if possible as well please? Cycle #3 TTC for #2. We have a 17mo DD who took us three cycles to fall pregnant with so hoping it is the same or similar this time around!

Just been using Flo, which is the same as I did with DD, and pretty much DTD every day during and around my fertile window.

elle18310 · 03/07/2023 08:22

@MLN89 oh my goodness, I'm an early tester too! I do the same and just buy cheapies so I'm not making myself bankrupt!!
I sometimes think its easier to know and then move on! Month one, plenty of time to go xx

@Isitthathardtobekind ahhh mine too! I've heard so many wonderful sibling stories with a big age gap, hopefully it works for us too xx You'll have two amazing helpers! xx

@elle18310 i have a 10 year old as well! … and a 12 year old. The 10 year old is very keen.

MLN89 · 02/07/2023 20:21

Hi ladies,

Just checking in!

I caved and tested today at 8DPO (according to flo, I didn't do any opk's this month) and it was a BFN.

I'm not feeling too disheartened as it's only month 1 and I really don't mind if it takes a month or two as my hubby has just gone self employed and we've just paid for our wedding so financially a little extra time to recover won't be a bad thing!

I'm a notorious early tester and knew I'd start at 8DPO as I always did last time I was TTC and actually got my BFP with my daughter at 8DPO. As a compromise with myself I've ordered internet cheapies to use this week and then will do a FRER next weekend. Last time I was using FRER every day from 8DPO and every day for a good week or so after I got my BFP so spent a bloody fortune 😂.

Hope you're all good ❤️

Limmers14 · 01/07/2023 16:52

Thank you @Knock123 and @FinallyMrsT! I’ve also downloaded Flo which has been super helpful for information for my husband and I 😊

FinallyMrsT · 30/06/2023 20:50

Hi@Limmers14 and welcome

I am similar I took my iUD end of feb but only started ttc since my wedding end of April...cutting alcohol after honeymoon end of May. I only drink coffee 3-4 times a week but I'm trying to lose some weight now.
Opk is ovulation testing.
Depending on your cycle length would depend when's best to starf testing for ovulation. This is my first month testing for ovulation... but if your cycle is 28 days I think recommendation is to test around day 8 of your cycle until you reach peak , with no need after peak.. to assess when you ovulate. (I think)

Knock123 · 30/06/2023 18:22

@Limmers14 welcome! Opk is ovulation stick. Not really sure when you're meant to use them, my approach is sex every other day all month and maybe daily when I see fertile discharge. Husband is very happy with this plan!

I don't think it's necessary to cut out your coffee but looking after yourself mentally and physically is all helpful - eating healthily and exercise etc. And yeah cutting back on alcohol again is always good in general but plenty of babies have been conceived when their parents have been drunk so I wouldn't stress too much

Limmers14 · 30/06/2023 16:53

Hello ladies!

I’d like to join please! I’m 32 and had my IUD removed at the end of May. Not sure how long it will take my cycles to regulate, I’ve heard mixed stories from people! I did two ovulation tests at different times in June but both were negative. I got my period yesterday (June 29th) so I think I’ll start testing for ovulation in the next week? July will be the month we start properly trying.

It’s tricky to understand all the different terms on here. What is OPK? Also, any recommendations on how to improve conception chances? I’m cutting out alcohol but don’t know how I’ll manage my morning espresso 😂

Knock123 · 30/06/2023 14:06

@ssatellitesunshine sorry I can't see anything but if it is of any reassurance, I have never ever had a positive until after my period is due when I've been pregnant

elle18310 · 30/06/2023 08:44

@satellitesunshine you're not crazy, we all do it!! I don't know if I can or can't really. It's so tough, wait and test again tomorrow if you can xx 9dpo today yeah??

Chickentonights · 30/06/2023 08:17

@elle18310 I think it’s to do with our circadian rhythms which is basically our internal body clock, it gets out of rhythm when we cross time zones and can mess up your cycle. It’s the same thing that causes jet lag, it’s not just tiredness from travelling it is our body not knowing when we should be asleep or awake. I’ve had an upset stomach as well which it can cause. I don’t think I’m going to ovulate again all this month tbh,

@satellitesunshine i can’t see it but lines are notoriously bad for showing up in photos! Can you test again tomorrow?

satellitesunshine · 30/06/2023 08:10

well aware this makes me look crazy but does anyone see something on this 😂😂

Starting a new cycle for anyone that would like company on this TTC journey!
elle18310 · 30/06/2023 05:38

@Knock123 why does it do that? Xx

OP posts:
Knock123 · 29/06/2023 22:21

@Chickentonights travelling really can mess up your cycle. I had several long haul work trips plus a holiday in a short space of time once and I ended up bleeding and spotting for about a month

elle18310 · 29/06/2023 22:05

Welcome @Chickentonights and @satellitesunshine xx
@Chickentonights i always suffered spotting mid cycle when I was younger but I have two wombs and two cervix so always assumed it was down to that? Bizarre really! Because then before falling pregnant I wasn’t having periods and needed progesterone to kick start it all again?! Bodies are a mystery sometimes! I’d definitely keep a track or journal type notes on it all incase you end up needing to see a gp xx

@satellitesunshine 8dpo not too long to wait! And if not this cycle you’ll have us for company as we all start our cycles again this month xx
i have everything crossed for you! ❤️

satellitesunshine · 29/06/2023 22:00

hi! please can i join! 8dpo but not feeling too hopeful as only on first cycle - ttc baby #3. i have a 2 year old and a 6 month old so have literally just got my cycle back - ovulated later than expected this month so not sure if things will regulate or not. i kind of have a feeling i might have not actually ovulated this month for some reason despite opks hence not feeling hopeful

Chickentonights · 29/06/2023 21:56

Yes I use OPKs, I get a period every month but my cycle length seems to vary between 28 and 36 days. Usually get a strong positive OPK with EWCM and sore boobs right after until AF. The brown discharge mid cycle is new. I’ve read that travel and jet lag can mess with ovulation though.

FinallyMrsT · 29/06/2023 21:54

@Chickentonights if your periods are irregular it could be worth seeing your gp early on in ttc. Have you utilised OPKs?
My plan is to go gp around 6 months if no luck... simply because I'm concerned if a nasty post partum infection has left me with any lasting damage.

Chickentonights · 29/06/2023 21:35

Hi we are TTC #1, this is our third cycle. My periods are slightly irregular, I was expecting to ovulate this week so have DTD loads but instead I’ve started having some brown discharge? I’ve had quite bad jet lag since coming from holiday so I’m hoping this is the reason for the slightly messed up cycle. I’m getting frustrated everyone around me seems to be getting pregnant with no problems!

elle18310 · 29/06/2023 20:11

@Knock123 welcome aboard! Xx
glad to hear your most recent tests are normal and I’m so sorry to hear about your loss ❤️
I had my second blood test today also so will report back with results when I have them. Fingers crossed for good news xx
i really hope it works out for us all and hopefully we can share stories, tips, support each other and be there along the way x
seed cycling has gone well today! I stocked up my cupboards and am on potion of vitamins,
if anyone has anyone advice I’d be grateful. I’m currently taking b12, zinc, folic acid, iron, and vit d! Seems a lot! Xx
