Hi @MK85 - thought I’d already replied earlier but can’t see it anywhere so apologies if this is a duplicate.

Sorry to hear you’re feeling so rough - I have everything crossed for you xx Keep is updated so we can’t support you through the next phase.

I’ve included pics of my tests taken Sat, Mon and today (date order, bottom is most recent) - as you can see they’re not as dark as they should be, not progressing as they should but are also not getting lighter either… it’s all a bit weird.

Good luck @MK85. A close friend had secondary infertility and had IVF to have her second child 13 years after the first. I've seen (second hand) how physically tough it is, take care of yourself. Not to mention the mental and emotional toll. Fingers crossed you have a good embryo to transfer 🤞

I'm 6dpo (or maybe 5dpo, wasn't consistent in tracking this month). I'm exercising more self control this month and not testing for a few days. Though I'm sure the POAS madness will take me soon...

MK85 · 25/10/2023 11:50

@Downtherabbithole83 how are you feeling now ?
I had my egg collection yesterday. I've found it quite tough and have been on bed rest since.
We have 3 eggs that fertilsed but we won't know until Friday if we have anything to transfer but 🤞 they can hang in there

Downtherabbithole83 · 23/10/2023 12:38

Sorry to hear that @MK85 - hopefully the ovary they collect from will do its job and give you what you need.

Having seen my friends experience it, I know IVF can be emotionally and physically draining - make sure you look after yourself xxx

MK85 · 23/10/2023 12:31

@Downtherabbithole83 ah sorry your going through a rough time. Its mentally draining isn't it. I don't know why ttc can be so complex for some and impossible for others. Hopefully the situation resolves itself and you get some answers either way. Take care of yourself.

I'm due for my egg collection tomorrow. Unfortunately the process has been tougher than i hoped.
Apparently I have a poor responsive left ovary and it's in an unaccesable location so we cannot retrieve the follicle on it anyway and I'm looking at retrieval from only one ovary . Just when I thought ivf would give us the best chance of starting a family.
Feeling extremely tender today. I can barely move without pain. I've swollen away up 🙈 I legit look like im well into my second trimester 😆

Wishing everyone luck on their current cycles

@worldwidetravel2017 my first two pregnancies with my ex were uneventful - c sections for births but pregnancies were easy (caught easily, strong lines on tests etc).

With my new partner we fell pregnant August 2022 and again strong lines straight away - unfortunately at the 12 week scan chromosomal issues were found and we had to tfmr at the end of November 2022.

We started trying again in January and since then we’ve had a couple of chemicals - lines have started to get darker and then got fainter very quickly afterwards (all within a week or so). This time we assumed would be the same but lines have been getting darker (slower than expected) and now appear to be levelling off but not fading yet so a bit different.

Yes they did the progesterone check - all fine.

Not going to have lots of checks… we are fortunate to have children with our ex partners (3 between us) but we’d just hoped to have one together. Sometimes these things just aren’t meant to be.

Thanks @worldwidetravel2017 - I expected it to be a chemical from the beginning so not too disappointed I guess (as it’s starting to feel like this is how pregnancy goes for me from now on) but the lines just staying the same is what’s stressful! Go one way or the other… and quickly please 😂🤦‍♀️

Hcg can stay in your body for 1 - 9 weeks ..

You mention a history of chemicals ? Have you had your thyroid function test done?

Have you had vit d and b12 and feretin checked?
You need good feretin for conception & pregnancy .
( i snack on apricots & raisins & strawberries and have 2 wheat bisks a day & take oral iron)..
Also vit D - theres a vit D & miscarriage link - actimel drink has 1 /3 of daily vit D in - and supplements 2000 iu.

Have you read the it starts with an egg book ?

Got my vit d from 33 to 77 to 89.

Good to try and get it near 100.

Also have you had your folate checked ? To check body is absorbing folic acid ?

Sending you all the luck 4 if you try again

I found talking to tommys baby charity very helpful

Have you had your progesterone checked four days after ovulation?

Morning all, so just a little update from me. Still getting BFPs on tests and AF is now a week late but the lines aren’t getting darker, just staying pretty constant. I thought about what you said @MK85 and did contact the GP on Friday. HCG definitely isn’t increasing at the rate it should so I guess I’m now in ‘non-viable pregnancy territory’ and just waiting for it to sort itself out. Only little worry is that it might be ectopic so keeping an eye on it all… why is ttc so stressful?!?!

Sorry to hear this :(
Ive been there - its hard -, be kind to yourself

Hi all. Can I join? I’m 39, ttc 8 months and nothing so far… tests indicate we are both fine.

i am wondering if I’m pregnant. It’s probably around 19 dpo and I got brown creamy discharge (unusual for me) two days ago, then v light spotting dark brown yesterday where no blood was in the loo, just on tissue wiping. Today there is a bit more dark red/brown blood but again it’s not in the loo and only lightly on the towel whereas usually id fill one?!

also v tired, eye twitching for two weeks, and feel mildly nauseous.

I need to take a test when I get home, currently somewhere remote on hols with no access to pharmacy.

do you think I’m in with a chance?!

Hey - how are things ?

Downtherabbithole83 · 15/10/2023 20:58

Oh that’s exciting - you’ll have to let us know how you get on! Hope you’re feeling okay about it all.

I haven’t spoken to my GP about the chemicals - they happen so early that I assume it’s a chromosome issue. I have two children with my ex and my partner has one with his ex, neither of us had issues conceiving them. We then conceived last August but that ended in tfmr. We’ve both decided we won’t go for intervention so speaking to the GP seems a bit pointless at the moment…

MK85 · 15/10/2023 19:32

@Downtherabbithole83 have you spoke to your gp about your recurrent chemicals?

I'm currently approaching the halfway mark of my ivf cycle. I've a scan on Tuesday to find out if we have any follicles growing

Downtherabbithole83 · 15/10/2023 18:19

Thanks @MK85 - it’s hard not to assume it’s another chemical at this point because I have no symptoms and the line is so faint.

Thanks for the words of encouragement xx

Hope you’re doing okay!

MK85 · 15/10/2023 17:16

@Downtherabbithole83 I wouldn't give up hope until af arrives. I've seen lots of people on here posting and worried about faint lines that gradually got darker. Could just be late implantation and hcg is still low. I'm hoping that's the case for you

Downtherabbithole83 · 15/10/2023 15:52

Looks like I’m having another very early chemical… I’ve got definite lines on early tests but they’re faint (I’m 13dpo) and I feel like they should be darker.

This is my second chemical in 3 months (I’ve also had at least another two earlier this year) and I’m wondering if all of my eggs have chromosomal issues (I had to have a tfmr last November for a chromosomal issue though they’ve said it’s a ‘fluke’ rather than being anything we’re a carrier of). Maybe this is down to my age… who knows. Just feeling a bit rubbish about it today… said to my other half that maybe it’s time to admit defeat.

MK85 · 09/10/2023 19:31

@niknaks37 exactly positive thinking that it can still happen naturally.
Our results were same, good count but low morphology. We were told it wouldn't be impossible to conceive naturally but the road might take longer and it was that next month we fell pregnant so low morphology isn't the end of In my opinion. We did get referred for ivf / icsi on account of his morphology. It's likely they may offer icsi to you if his second test comes back with similar results.
We contemplated trying naturally for a little longer knowing that it's clearly possible but in the end we figured it's best to make moves to give is the best chance at getting pregnant since I have pcos aswell so it's kinda like a double spanner thrown in the works

niknaks37 · 09/10/2023 19:07

Been away on a couple of trips so only just catching up, nice to chill and think of other things for a while.

@MK85 @hennie222 thanks for the response, ok so it could be a number of things at this appointment. Had bloods done not too long ago and all is normal, hopefully wont need those done again. OH had to phone the docs today to ask about the SA results, the results had been sitting there since middle of September! We were only prompted to ring as a letter came asking for another analysis. So been sitting here at home to working out the result percentages. Anyway plenty of sperm but low morphology, which might make sense due to OH IBD so onwards we go. I can just tell this is going to be a very long road.
@MK85 I might be going down the holistic route at this rate. Although the reflexology sounds wonderfully bliss! I am sure all will be well with IVF injections, positive thoughts.

@bubballoo sorry AF arrived. That really sucks.
Be kind to yourself and take it easy .

Just wanted to share a little hope for those you who feel like your battling against age. I've been doing some treatments lately , namely acupuncture and fertility reflexology and at my session on Monday my acupuncturist whos done ivf herself told me her friend thought she was menopausal and found out she was pregnant at 46. Then at my fertility reflexology session last night ( which was genuinely wonderful. I lay there on a heated bed with hot towels around my head and listening to some meditation music while she worked on ny feet. Highly recommended if your feeling stressed. Ive honestly never felt so relaxed in my life ) she mentioned that she was treating a 48 year old. I'd brought it up to OH later that evening and he told me his friends mother conceived at 49 naturally. I honestly thought conceiving in your late 40s is extremely rare but there you go there's 3 women in my town alone who conceived of Advanced maternal age.

My reflexologist also does holistic treatments including foot readings , healings ect and told me I have two lines on my feet which indicate I'm going to have two children. A boy and girl. May be a load of mumble jumble 😆 but I saw a fortune teller a few years ago aswell and he picked up on a boy and girl and he was spookily accurate about events that were going to happen , and did happen. My reflexologist also picked up on some other things about my health and personality which she's spot on about so I'm going to let myself believe it for now. I definitely need hope to give me strength to get through these next couple of weeks . I start ivf injections next week. Eek
She told me my iron levels were low which i was surprised about so I might try and book a blood test.

P.s I thought I'd pass this on. My acupuncturist told me it's vital to keep yourself warm at all time to avoid your uterus getting cold as it can stop implantation. Don't drink cold water, always warm or room temperature and dress warm at all times and wear socks all the time, including in bed. Apparently it's an eastern medicine belief.

And... here's my period. Feeling ridiculously blue about it. PMS plus disappointment is not a good combination. On to the next month I suppose.

Sorry to hear

Rusticanella · 05/10/2023 09:13

Sorry to hear that @bubballoo . Onto the next month. Fingers crossed for you x

I'm 9dpo, testing when I should wait and getting BFN (obviously) just going slightly mad over here....

worldwidetravel2017 · 03/10/2023 14:33

I start counselling next week - partly as the early miscarriage, partly as a close relative died.. partly as my chronic health condition/ diagnosis

Looking forward to a nice slow walk at the sea / beach at the weekend
