Thanks ladies, yes onwards and upwards to cycle 12. I’m well aware of the stats around how long it can take at this age (39), I guess you just assume it’ll not be you.

Anyway DH got his appointment for sperm sample analysis which is beginning of September so hopefully that may give more answers.

hennie222 · 13/07/2023 11:29

We've been referred to a fertility clinic for the sperm test - not called them yet but I think they will be quite fast. Good to know not too expensive if needed though!

hennie222 · 13/07/2023 11:00

We just had our first referral appointment on the NHS. Strangely, Dr said that NHS are now asking some folk to try for 2 yrs post MC before referral and that somehow we'd slipped through (which is good because I'll be >40 in 2 years time).

Some sperm antigens in DH sample so he's got to have another one (I had never heard about this before, it's really interesting reading), and HSG for me as there's maybe a polyp (and definitely a fibroid, but that's out of the way).

Feeling much more positive now things are actually happening at least......

Woop for things happening

I dunno how fast sperm tests are on nhs

I looked at superdrug yesterday and know for 185 gbp you get fast tests & fast results re sperm though

hennie222 · 13/07/2023 11:03

I'll add that the sperm antigens were on the sample test ordered by GP last year. The GP (or whoever analysed it) did not flag any sort of issue - apparently they only look at the 3 main factors. 😑

That’s me out this month. AF a day later than normal and without the normal day before spotting. I was starting to get my hopes up yesterday as well. Started tracking BBT this week and temp took a big drop today.

How is everyone else doing?

Sorry to hear that
Pretty sure im soon joining you in same boat

Heres to next month

I'm on 1dpo so locking my pregnancy tests up for at least the next 10 days! Flo thinks I would be ovulating today but cm says it was either yesterday morning or Tuesday evening. So I'm taking it as 1 or 2dpo.

Sorry to hear about AF @Lifegivesyoulimes ❤️

Goodluck

worldwidetravel2017 · 13/07/2023 10:55

They found one small fibroid on 2 of my scans..
But yeah..

Waiting 4 period tbh - we tried our luck twice in what flo app says was latter part of fertile window
But i believe we missed it / i believe ovulation was earlier..

Had enough of those cheap ovulation pee sticks & didnt see them go positive altho next cycle im starting testing from day 8 with ovulation testing..

Ordered a clear blue digital ovulation thingy

@worldwidetravel2017 I meant to say If they saw the corpus luteum I believe that means you've ovulated. It forms after youve released an egg. It's the corpus luteum that secretes progesterone.

Thank you
Did a 21 day progesterone test yesterday
Awaiting results
Seeing gp tomorrow

@worldwidetravel2017 You've been through a lot. Take care of yourself (I'm sure you do) Good food, vitamins and pampering!

Thank you

Butterfly2000 · 08/07/2023 23:38

@MK85 I've heard so many positive things about myo. I wish I knew about it years ago but GP wasn't bothered about my pcos as I wasn't ttc. It took a while before one of them told me about insulin resistance and started Metformin.
Yes at least you are ovulating that's good! How many cycles of clomid have you had? Are you taking anything else? Try B6

MK85 · 08/07/2023 22:53

@Butterfly2000 I highly recommend myo inositol. I definitely think it's what got my periods back and kickstarted my body into ovulating.
I ovulate late - past 5 cycles its been anywhere from cd19 - cd43 but I suppose its better than nothing. I was hoping since starting clomid that my ovulation would occur earlier but it dosent seem to have made a difference.

worldwidetravel2017 · 08/07/2023 21:18

Hope myo inositol helps you :)

And thank you
No - not under a fertility clinic yet ..

Only actually actively started trying this month
Im just very aware of my age 36.5

Plus - my body has had a hard time since may last year

So many medical referals etc

Apparently i have post viral fatigue .. got that diagnosis in june

You cant make up the last 3 -4 months

My beloved grandad died too..

Met my partner when i was nearly turning 35... etc

Butterfly2000 · 08/07/2023 19:45

@worldwidetravel2017 I'm sorry to sounds like you're having a hell of a time. I'm just about to start myo-inositol too.
Are you under a fertility clinic
I hope things settle down for you and you get your bfp

Butterfly2000 · 08/07/2023 19:44

@MK85 Normally it rises over about 24hrs. The highest reading I've had so far was .75 in May. I think I'll persevere with the opks and try to reintroduce bbt. I wonder whether Metformin is making a difference or the vitamins and diet. My pcos was diagnosed because my blood about 10yrs ago. Ovaries have always been normal. But I struggle with my weight, acne and facial hair. Back to laser for the hair next month though.
How are things with you?

worldwidetravel2017 · 08/07/2023 17:29

They said my ovaries were in normal range etc

No something something masses ....

And no fluid etc

worldwidetravel2017 · 08/07/2023 17:28

MK85 · 08/07/2023 16:58

@worldwidetravel2017
Have they mentioned anything about the scans having polycystic appearance?
It's possible for some women to have androgens in the normal range but still suffer from related symptoms.

Some women with pcos don't even have all the follicles on ovaries. I think they measure your FSH LH ratio and combine that with any symptoms to determine pcos, you need 2 symptoms for diagnosis.
With me there was no doubt, I have every bloody symptom , polycystic ovaries, high androgens, unwanted hair , high amh, irregular periods / no ovulation.
Severity really varies person to person.
I'd push for a diagnosis or to rule it out at least. I went to my gp when I was 17 about this... and didnt get a diagnosis of pcos until 33. It was kinda brushed off over the years because at that point in time my only symtoms were skipping periods and difficultly getting pregnant but it just got progressively worse over the years. I think it was always there my whole life but I don't think doctors had the knowledge of understanding it to give me a diagnosis

I have high amh
And unwanted hair

I did private hormone and fertility tests
So i have many numbers
And many things checked

My shbg was low

Its been sent 2 gp

Im awaiting rhuematoid arthritis blood test next week - i had glandular fever last year unfortunately - the unwanted gift that keeps on giving..
Had 3 x polyps removed from my bowel in an urgent colonoscopy recently - - - its all going on and has been for a while...

Will talk 2 gp next week

Had iron iv in hosp in may as my feretin was only 8..(!)
Was a super premature baby so my body is terrible at obsorbing iron...

Ive ordered a pcos supplement that worked for / helped many. Has myo inositol...

MK85 · 08/07/2023 17:00

@Butterfly2000 that looks positive to me.
What do your readings usually look like ? Do you often get surges of lh ?
I know some women say they don't work but I've never had an issue using opks with pcos. I've only ever got a positive like that if I've ovulated

MissKH84 · 08/07/2023 16:36

I had a hycosy in September of last year and they said my tubes were open, no other comments or information shared but I just feel its the recent months in which something feels different and that's raised my concern it could be endometriosis related as I know tissue from that can block your tubes . I don't know how quickly endometriosis can grow. Its just so annoying not being able to get a diagnosis to my fertility problems and discomfort. My husbands sperm all came back fine

Butterfly2000 · 08/07/2023 16:02

I know that pcos can cause high lh readings but my readings have never been this high and I'm having what I think is ovulation pain. A lot going on in life so no chance to dtd recently so know I'm out for this month but I'd be so pleased if this opk is right and my body seems to be working as it should! 🤞🏽
