TTC after miscarriage - still testing positive

Hi all!

I miscarried 2 weeks ago at 8 weeks after seeing a baby and a heartbeat on the scan 😩 the baby was measuring behind, my HCG levels weren’t doubling and I spotted throughout so it was expected but still so heartbreaking when it happened.

Does a test need to be negative before you can TTC again? I’m still testing really faintly positive which is really frustrating as with my previous miscarriage I tested negative quite early! I’m probably being really impatient but it’s so hard, I feel like I can’t close this chapter until I’ve had a negative test and really want to start trying again 😩

Is anyone else in this boat or had similar?

@Amyjones86 thank you! It’s so heartbreaking isn’t it 😩 sorry to hear about your loss! its so hard waiting for a negative test, it was barely visible last night so hoping to test negative soon!

@ttcthoughts sorry to hear this, hope you’re doing ok? I’m doing ok, I’ve miscarried before but never this late so it’s hard seeing those positive tests! I did get pregnant with my son the month after my previous miscarriage so holding onto that hope!

@Forest27 I am so sorry this has happened to you, I have no advice, But im also in the same sort of boat, Lost my baby at 5 weeks last week.

I am so sorry for your loss, absolutely heartbreaking. I kept testing positive for nearly 3 weeks after my last loss, but then I very quickly ovulated as soon as I tested negative. So I would use an easy@home hcg test until you can barely see a line and then switch to the ovulation sticks. But I did try again as soon as I started seeing darker ovulation tests. I wasn't successful the immediate cycle after, but I was after that. Wishing you lots of luck.
