Heya, it is good to be back. I joined mums net in 2020 and fell pregnant after 1 year of trying in 2021. I am now back again trying for baby number 2 (slightly earlier than anticipated as it took so long last time) and looking for a new group of lovely people who are sharing a similar journey :) x

How do you all track ovulation ? I haven't actually been tracking but just going on symptoms etc. think I might start tracking now

I've been using clear blue digi ovulation tests and DTD at peak (solid smiley) and also started tracking BBT this month

Pandabumbles · 10/07/2023 08:36

How's everyone doing? Cycle 2 for me, I think I'm about 4dpo, having got married on 1st July i decided not to track for a month and it's felt soo much more chilled (although being consumed by wedding helped!). Had my usual EWCM which is hard to miss so got a rough idea of when O was. Although DS had the worst night last night, anyone else feel like maybe 2 is a bad idea after nights like that?! Sending baby dust x

Just got my period today (as expected Cus didn't feel pregnant what so ever). So this will be going on to cycle 3 of trying for a sibling. My cycle was 34 days this month which is promising considering I hardly used to have periods at all.

Clarajade · 30/06/2023 21:35

@Bubblesandtroubles yes it is nice that it isn’t only just me that feels that way, I really hope it happens for you this month, sounds like we are going to be similar with dates this month.

I have said to my husband I’ll try to give it six months and re evaluate after that but after this cycle I think I just need to focus on getting through the next one. It’s a busy month socially so hopefully that will help, although this month has been too and it didn’t haha. I think I need to be more mindful of the doom and gloom thoughts with no evidence to back them up!

oh please don’t let me worry you about the shorter cycles, it’s probably nothing just something for me to stress about! I have had 3 24 days this year too. I turned 34 in May xx

Bubblesandtroubles · 30/06/2023 21:07

@Clarajade it's so difficult isn't it! I'm sorry people feel the same but nice to know they're normal feelings to have!
I've not put a deadline on it yet but I have said to my husband I don't want to be trying indefinitely and he agrees. Just crossing everything that this next month will be the one 🤞🤞🤞
That's interesting (and a little worrying!) about the shorter cycles as mine have definitely got shorter - 3 have been 24days since February when I look back. I'm 37 now so not getting any younger 😬 xx

LeopardLover · 30/06/2023 19:54

@Clarajade Ooooh CUTE. I don't blame you, I felt super obsessed last time. I'm sure I'll feel just as obsessed again soon 😂 I think lockdown made everything worse!

Not hopeful at all this month, so I won't be disappointed when AF arrives. I loved having an April baby so I think I'm already putting pressure on conceiving next month 👀 I'm sorry you were feeling down, it's really tough when you convince yourself you're pregnant. I remember doing that last time! 💔

I went from 29-31 to 27-29. But normally 27! I feel like I'm blaming pregnancy not age 😅 x

Clarajade · 30/06/2023 19:47

@LeopardLover it was Ann89 but I was paranoid someone I know would know it was me 🤣

I didn’t write on there too much as I remember thinking I needed a break and I actually blocked mumsnet on my phone so I couldn’t read threads on there all day when WFH in lockdown and going mad haha. I told myself it would be different this time, but it isn’t ha.

how are you feeling about this month?

I convinced myself I was pregnant this month so was feeling pretty down yesterday. I know it’s only early days but it’s just so hard to not obsess!

my cycles have gone from 27-29 to anywhere 24-27 now. Xx

LeopardLover · 30/06/2023 19:39

@Clarajade Omgosh, no way! What was your name? Yes, the pact was such a huge help to me back then 😁❤️ I even checked on everyone in that thread not long enough but couldn't see anyone active 🤣

Omgosh, I also read this the other day hahhaha! My cycle is a tiny bit shorter and I had a mini panic but I'm sure it's fine 😅x

Clarajade · 30/06/2023 19:36

@LeopardLover i remember you from a thread back in 2020, I have changed my username! It was one called The Pact or something? I know I am being irrational, my cycle has gotten a little shorter since last time which I hadn’t thought much of until starting TTC (except it’s annoying that I have more periods) but now I am stressing that it is a sign of my aging ovaries 🤣🤣

LeopardLover · 30/06/2023 19:34

Hey everyone! TTC #2, it's cycle #2 and I'm 11DPO. I can also relate to you @Bubblesandtroubles @Clarajade !@Clarajade

I remember being so obsessed with TTC with my son (now 2) and truthfully I'm quite happy with just him (he's definitely more than enough), but want him to have a sibling - especially when we're old etc. I think right now I'm still pretty chill, so it's not become too all consuming, but that might change 6 months+ down the line! Sending much love x

Clarajade · 30/06/2023 19:30

Hi, I am usually a silent reader on mumsnet but @Bubblesandtroubles your last post really resonated with me. I am not sure I am cut out for TTC. My DD has just turned two, conceived on cycle 4 last time and I drove myself mad and still looking back think it was the most stressful 4 months of my life! And that’s with some complications in late pregnancy and birth.

i am now on to cycle 3 of TTC #2 (AF arrived yesterday) and I have let it consume me once again and have those feelings that I am doing my daughter a disservice by being upset when I already have her and maybe I should quit and be one and done

Bubblesandtroubles · 30/06/2023 19:16

@RosieS22 I'll be keeping everything crossed for you!

I'm out for this month. Would have been due AF today but she surprised me and came early on Tuesday I think it was 🙄

It's only cycle 2 so I know others have been through a much tougher struggle- but I'm really not sure how long I want to try for #2. I know we are already so lucky to have a beautiful, healthy little girl. I don't want to miss out on enjoying the present with her by becoming all consumed about breaking my life into two week chunks. It almost feels like, by being upset, I'm in some way saying she is not enough.

But then, on the other hand, I do want her to have a sibling and don't want to be done at one if we can help it.

Does any of that make sense to anyone else or is it irrational rambling?!

@mahii95 I hope someone else is more knowledgeable and can answer your question. I've not done BBT before but will be trying it this coming month so need to some research over the weekend!

Best of luck and mountains of baby dust for anyone still in with a chance this month. Xx

CurlyWurly1991 · 13/06/2023 20:27

hello everyone, first cycle for me TTC #2. 10 years later!
currently CD 34 and using BBT charting as I have really irregular cycles. Am waiting for my period to arrive but not sure if/when I actually ovulated so it’s a waiting game at the minute!

Hi sorry I'm new here.. can i just ask what the temperature rises too when tracking BBT.. for ovulation xx or is it different for each individual x

mahii95 · 30/06/2023 11:36

Hi all, I'm fairly new to Mums net- however trying for baby no 2. Im only 1dpo and looking for some company on my two week wait 🙈 xxx

RosieS22 · 30/06/2023 11:32

Hard to keep track if there are many people still in their TWW and due to be testing over the next few days?
I'm 11DPO according to Flo, but I think I ovulated a day or two earlier. Waiting for tests to arrive today and will test tomorrow with fmu.
AF due Tues.
I have so many random symptoms on and off, I'll seriously be wondering what's going on with my body if I don't get a BFP this month!! 😬

swirly3468 · 27/06/2023 10:43

How does everyone track ovulation ?
I'm currently on day 32 of cycle . My cycles are usually around 37 days long but are now regular. I ovulate between day 19 and 25. I've only been going on my cervical mucus and how I feel in myself and having intercourse around that time.
I really really hope we don't need ivf again. I would love a sibling for my little boy . Does anyone know if it's best to DTD every day or every other ?

Pandabumbles · 26/06/2023 18:19

@ajayelbee how wonderful!! Everything crossed for you lovely x

CurlyWurly1991 · 26/06/2023 15:55

@ajayelbee aww take care, good that you can get to bed nice and early. Rest up x

ajayelbee · 26/06/2023 14:55

@CurlyWurly1991 @SRyellow @Bubblesandtroubles thank you so much!

I’ve had a few stabby twinges on the right hand side, a bit of nausea and been quite headachey. But mostly I’ve just been extra tired and going to bed at 9pm the last few days!

@Bubblesandtroubles you’ve so much more willpower than me! Good luck for when you do test!

Bubblesandtroubles · 26/06/2023 13:31

Congratulations @ajayelbee!

10dpo for me but trying my best to hold off testing til Saturday (if no AF before then!)
Busy week at work at least so hopefully won't drag too much 🤞🤞

SRyellow · 26/06/2023 11:04

@ajayelbee ah!! This looks very positive and mine looked the same as this and now darker. Fingers crossed for you! Do you have any symptoms at all?

CurlyWurly1991 · 26/06/2023 08:19

@ajayelbee woop!!! Looking good. How are you feeling today, any cramps/twinges/nausea yet?
With the herbs she did an hour consultation with lots of questions and then made up a very strong tincture of several herbs - can’t remember all the names but there are about 6. I don’t think she would prepare a mix if I was in early pg as I remember from my daughter that most health people are super cautious about you doing/taking anything during the first trimester. Fair enough I guess.

ajayelbee · 26/06/2023 07:46

@CurlyWurly1991 hurrah for ovulation! Officially in the tww now! Do you have different herbs for different parts of your cycle?

I got a faint line on an internet cheapy yesterday morning; and again today. They look exactly the same, but I know it takes 48 hours for HCG to double so fingers crossed they get darker over the next few days instead of fading away. I tested from 9dpo-12dpo with my son and then managed to step away from the tests, so hopefully can do the same this time!

Good luck to anyone else who might be testing today!

TTC baby #2
CurlyWurly1991 · 25/06/2023 09:04

3dpo today confirmed on FF, I’m ridiculously excited that it’s given me crosshairs and they coincide with when I thought I ovulated 😂
