Slow FRER line progression?

Hey everyone, I'm just looking for some opinions or hopefully success stories... I got a verrrrrry faint squinter of a line at 12dpo FMU. At 13dpo FMU it had darkened. I was hoping this morning (14dpo) it would be a lot darker, but it hasn't really changed from yesterday. Should I expect to see a daily darkening or is it every 48 hours normally? I'm really worried its a chemical or ectopic or something. I'm an anxious person anyway and all sorts of what ifs are going through my head now. I thought once you get your positive that's it. But I'm not sure really. Thanks in advance for any opinions/success stories. (lines look much pinker in real life compared to photo quality)

Hiya! Any updates?

BagelO · 16/06/2023 01:05

@Pinkmoon23 how many days since ovulation is that? It does start low for some .

Pinkmoon23 · 15/06/2023 19:14

Thank you! Very concerned as I just got my Hcg levels back from Dr's from 2 days ago (CD 31) and they're only 17. ☹️ Repeating the test tomorrow.

@Pinkmoon23 just realised the test was the other way round, oops! But even still, so so much darker within a few days! Amazing sign!!♥️

PeeBeee · 15/06/2023 08:48

@Pinkmoon23 wow!! What a dye stealer!! Congrats♥️ i got my first positive yesterday at 9dpo so I will more than likely be testing every day for the next week to see my dye stealer🤞🏼🤞🏼 you having any symptoms? Xx

Just an update for this post incase people are scouring the Internet like I was. My tests got darker again 😊 I'm thinking it was just differences in the concentration of my urine. I'm awaiting my Hcg blood level but all is looking good on the tests!

Thanks so much for your kind words and support guys ❤️. It's really appreciated. This limbo land is really taking a toll on my mental health. I would rather just know one way or another. My test from this morning was slightly lighter than yesterdays. Although my fmu was lighter, yesterdays was more concentrated. But I'm not feeling hopeful 😔 also I had a slight dip in temp this morning too. Although hoping this doesn't matter either. Meh, it's so hard to know what's going on 😕

Great line today OP. Could it be something as simple as your dates for ovulation being a couple of days out (so you're 13 dpo now), or that it took a day or two for the sperm to find the egg? I know it's a worrying time but I think there's much to be positive about 😍and I also know that, whatever tomorrow and the next 9 months bring, by that test, today, right now, you are pregnant - and isn't that the most wonderful news?!

dwightschrutebeets · 11/06/2023 20:31

That's a fantastic line OP!

That looks positive to me! Colour & progression over the last few days. A tentative congratulations!

Thank you! I'm still a bit worried its too faint for 15dpo.... But I guess I could have implanted later, happy it's darker, but still in limbo land a bit 😬

Tonight's tests... Definitely darker but is it dark enough for 15dpo?

It's 5 days from period but only 99% from day of missed period.

The CB digi ones should be accurate 6 days before AF is due.

I hope it’s wrong OP and you get another line.

GoneAwayWorld · 11/06/2023 01:04

Pinkmoon23 · 10/06/2023 18:00

So digi came up negative ☹️

I don't think they're as sensitive as FRER?

Anyway… OP, is it worth taking a Clearblue early digital to help ease your mind?

I've got one coming today so I think I will 🤞

@Onemyownhere didnt quote you but Glad you understand it now. Take care

You @ me, so ethier way u mentioned my username. Understood before u mentioned it, even though u being 20 weeks pregnant had nothing to do with the hook effect /explanation of it... Take care too

PickledScrump · 10/06/2023 12:42

@Onemyownhere far too early for hook effect.

OP hcg rises every 48hours ish, so testing every day won’t show much. I will say mine actually got lighter between 11dpo and 14dpo and I’m currently 20 weeks so don’t put too much into testing

A couple of people already addressed this, so don't get why u even quoting me about it... I understand now

Pinkmoon23 · 10/06/2023 11:43

Thanks everyone, it's so difficult being in limbo land. Even worse because I have a really bad cold/flu today so can't even keep busy. I wonder if it's related...

Are you testing at the same time each day with concentrated urine?

Yeah, all of these are from FMU

OP posts:
GoneAwayWorld · 10/06/2023 11:24

Hook effect is a false negative. One of the examples of when it can happen is when HCG has risen to such an extent that it messes up the test. This is why some women who are multiple weeks pregnant can get a negative result even though everything is progressing fine.

As other poster has said 14dpo would be way too early for the hook effect.

It could be a chemical pregnancy, but it's too early to fret about that yet. Keep testing.

Your lines are getting ever so slightly darker, so I'll keep things crossed for you that the lines start to firm up properly in the next day or so.
