V faint line frer 3 days in a row 8-10dpo

Hello, this is my first post so not sure if I’m doing it right but I’ve found lots of comfort reading others stories during my journey which I’ll go into another time but it’s been difficult and I’m now in my 2nd cycle ttc after loss and not being allowed to try for 6 months.

I’m now 10dpo and have had the faintest squinting move in the light and stretch to see it lines on frer the past three days which are maybe the teeniest teeniest bit less faint each day but still barely there. All came up within the 3 mins but I know frer can be notorious for Evap lines and indents and false hope. I know all I can do is keep testing and see if it gets darker but I feel so hopeless and just want someone’s advice, opinion, support.

i’ll try and upload pictures now not done this before but please if anyone could give their opinion/experience, am I seeing things? Is this nothing? Could this be the start of something?

first image is all three together but hard to see in the light top is 8dpo middle is 9dpo bottom is today 10dpo.

all done with fmu, I get nothing in the afternoon with few hour holds and these faintest lines with fmu all frer so don’t know if I’m being incredibly unlucky only getting indents in the morning?!

thank you

Thank you so much for all your kind messages.

going for it again this cycle trying to up the game every month, still taking vit d and folic acid and doing clear blue ovulation testing and premom -have now added pre-seed and the fertilily cup (which I’m still getting the hang of and not sure I’ve done it wrong on my tilted cervix :( ) and doing the SMEP.

Currently 2dpo (I think, I have no idea if you ovulate the day of or after the static smiley/peak?) so we’ll see what happens.

Not going to early test this month (thats the plan right now anyway but the closer I get to period due the harder it is!)

Any tips for the 2ww? I’ve heard pomegranate juice? Keeping feet warm? No heavy lifting?

I’m so sorry you’ve been through this. I totally understand, I’ve had some AWFUL and very convincing indents from frer after my MC. It’s heartbreaking each time.

good luck with this cycle! You’re not alone and sending strength and love

Hankthehonk · 19/06/2023 14:30

@Laylattc so sorry you've been through this, I also had frer indents that got my hopes up in the past. I've found boots early tests much more reliable and indent free, if that helps.
I fell pregnant last cycle so now in the fresh anxiety of early pregnancy post miscarriage! We used pre seed and made sure to dtd on ovulation day. I confirmed ovulation afterwards using proov tests for the first time.
Sending baby dust and solidarity, what you describe is so familiar to many of us here

Hi everyone, so sorry for the delay in updating, it annoys me when the OP never gives the final update when I’m following threads so I wanted to make sure I did!

Unfortunately I started spotting the day after my last post and af came in full force last Sunday right on time. I’m still a bit traumatised from the miscarriage and feel like every time I get my period I’m forced to almost relive it in a way which really upsets me hence not being able to bring myself to write this post whilst I was processing my feelings :(.

every month ttc feels like a constant cycle of the disappointment and trauma of af, then waiting for ovulation and the hope and excitement and possibility of trying again then the anxiety and overthinking of the 2ww then back to the crushing disappointment and sadness when af comes yet again another failed cycle.

the indents on the frer were cruel and shouldn’t be made like that when emotions are already high for so many desperately wanting to see a line when taking a pregnancy test. I’ve seen a lot of people have had this issue on frer and it’s not fair. I know people recommend frer but I’d really only use it as a confirmation when you’ve already got a faint line on something else as I guess you’re likely to get a stronger line on frer at that point but don’t bother before or use a clearblue digital to see the words pregnant as confirmation but I know it’s so difficult to wait and I just wanted to find out sooner than you could on the others but it’s not worth it. I’m going to try my best not to test early this cycle and definitely won’t be using frer as I’d rather no lines on a less sensitive test than a faint line/indent getting my hopes up.

currently cd10 and back to ovulation testing waiting to try again but feeling quite deflated by the whole process.

any advice on things you guys did that helped you successfully conceive would be appreciated. I tried pregnacare but felt it gave me weird symptoms so now just take vitamin d and folic acid. i ovulation test on premom and also clearblue advanced digital and still haven’t figured out whether it’s best to bd every day in fertile window or every other day or just save it up for the static smiley days as have tried both ways and still nothing. Don’t know whether I should be using pre seed or zita west vitamins. Also how long it took you ttc is always useful to hear I guess if anyone out there has any advice or input or could share their journey.

Thank you 🤍

any update? I came on here as I’m having really similar very faint lines. Seen some pics on here of FRER and the indents are awful!! I’m 11DPO and this is mine.. barely there

Any updates today? Have you tested again? 🤞🏼

Oldermum84 · 09/06/2023 13:22

I would say you're having a chemical, not indents. I had the same in February, the lines were there and stayed the same for days, then my period arrived late. TTC for 14 months and this was the only month it happened, definitely a chemical as couldnt have been indents on the all of the millions of tests I took that month when I never got a single indent any other month. I went on to conceive in march and am now 15 weeks. Good luck.

Laylattc · 09/06/2023 12:06

@orangie it is so upsetting. Sorry to hear you went through it too, it’s really not fair and frer shouldn’t be doing this to people. All we want to see is a line on a pregnancy test as that’s what we’re told means it’s positive so surely there shouldn’t be allowed to be a literal grey area!

i’d rather it be stark white so then I know not to get my hopes up rather than allowing myself to hope and then having it taken away again, especially after a loss in my case.

I’ve not tried smu yet will try that next time I test, which I’m telling myself will be Monday but I’m not sure I’ll be able to stop myself tomorrow morning. Did you get stronger indents on smu or did you ultimately get bfp’s with smu?

Indents were all the same; I went mental tbh; trying to edit them on my phone etc! It was a wild time.

@Blossomandbee I agree it’s really unfair, it seems quite a few people have experienced these indents and it’s easy to see how people can get their hopes up by seeing them on tests that should be yes or no and getting false hope when all they want is to see a line appear on a pregnancy test :(. Thank you, will update either way, just got to see what the weekend brings now!

Laylattc · 09/06/2023 11:57

@MuppetTime oh my goodness that’s such a strong line for an indent too! Thank you for sharing, I’m so sorry you’ve been through this aswell it’s really unfair and first response need to fix their tests. I won’t be using them again!

OP posts:
Laylattc · 09/06/2023 11:56

@Hankthehonk thank you. I do think the frer are getting slightly slightly slightly more clear but I was sure it would be a bit more obvious on the frer by now and I would have seen something on the other two if it was something real!

I believe I have the 10hcg version of the easy@home if that’s a thing and not just an Amazon gimmick and the clearblue I used was an ultra early 6 days before your missed period so thought it would be just as sensitive as frer? I’ve posted a picture of the box above.

so sorry you’ve been through this too it’s so unfair. I don’t understand why frer make them like this as the whole point of pregnancy tests is a line is a line unlike ovulation tests. Hope you’ve got/get your BF-clear-as-day-undeniable-P soon

OP posts:
orangie · 09/06/2023 11:53

I had awful indents on frer. Was so upsetting.

I also had stronger lines with second morning wee rather than first!

Laylattc · 09/06/2023 11:50

@PollyDarton1 I thought I could see hints of colour in all of them but now I don’t trust my eyes anymore! I want it to be something so badly and just seeing the shadow of the line made me feel hopeful.

i thought I would have atleast seen a hint something on the other two? I’m not sure on the sensitivity of the easy@home one but I thought it was 10hcg.
I know clearblue ones aren’t usually as sensitive but this was an ultra early one that says results 6 days before your missed period on the box so thought this type would be just as sensitive as the frer? I’ve attached a picture of the box as don’t know if they’re any good?

Yes you’re right, just need to try my best not to test anymore and let nature take its course. I’ll either come on AF on Sunday or test again Monday and will know either way xx

@Dumbphone I don’t know anymore, I was starting to believe it could be something but I’m so disheartened now. Yes I think you’re right, I’m going to try and give myself a break from testing this weekend and see if af rears her ugly head on Sunday or not :(

I’m going to try and not test early next cycle as it’s so consuming and confusing. It’s just so hard going through this every month, sounds like you got your BFP eventually though, how many cycles did it take you if you don’t mind me asking?

OP posts:
Blossomandbee · 09/06/2023 11:19

That line on the frer is quite clear, if it's an indent that's really unfair, they shouldn't make them like that. I don't see anything on the other tests sorry, but fingers crossed for you, it's not over yet 🤞

MuppetTime · 09/06/2023 11:03

This was my frer indent if it helps to compare. Yours looks possibly stronger but also I agree don't get your hopes up just in case.

Hankthehonk · 09/06/2023 10:54

Just reading this and I don't think you're out OP. Today's line looks clearer to me than yesterday's on the frer, and frer are definitely more sensitive than those other two tests.
That being said, I did suffer with frer indents getting my hopes up last cycle so you're right to manage your expectations x

PollyDarton1 · 09/06/2023 10:46

Looks like an early line to me too - and stronger than the last couple of days. Is there colour to it?

Easy@Home are less sensitive than FRER if I'm correct, and my CB took longer than FRER to be clearly positive when I had my DS.

I would stop testing and wait until Sunday/Monday - if AF doesn't arrive, test then. My line on FRER looked similar to yours at 10DPO and it wasn't until 12DPO where I got stronger positives.

Dumbphone · 09/06/2023 10:37

Looks like an early line to me, not indents, but anything can happen at this stage, so I would truly advise you to wait until Monday 🙀if at all possible. I was exactly the same as you though and would test from 7dpo every cycle. Nuts when I look back but I had to know. Good luck with it.

Laylattc · 09/06/2023 10:32

Hi everyone, sorry for the delay in updating I’ve just been feeling a bit sad this morning.

unfortunately it looks like I’ve just been cursed with indents and will never use first response again as it’s cruel to see anything on a test if it doesn’t mean anything.

This morning I’ve got the same indent again on a frer fourth day in a row but absolutely nothing on a clearblue 6 day early or an easy@home strip all done with the same fmu this morning.

pictures attached of this mornings tests.

I think I’m out and I’m so sad, surely if the first response indents were something they would be clearer by now and something would have also atleast squinted on the other two tests. If I’d have just done the frer again I might have held out hope for tomorrow but surely the other two tests would have shown something.

11dpo today, af due on Sunday so I don’t think there’s any chance left now that I’m pregnant this cycle?

thank you so much for all your support, advice and opinions, it really helps x

Really excited for the update this morning! Have everything crossed for you. Give the tests a good 10 mins also. I know also that goes against advice but these early tests with faint lines need time to show up and there's no way they have evaporated in that time lol so don't worry about that..

Laylattc · 08/06/2023 23:29

@VixFromThe6ix thank you! I can’t wait for the morning now but so scared as want it so badly. Let’s hope a line means there’s a baby and first response isn’t giving false hope x

@rhow aw that’s so lovely! Thank you so much. Fingers crossed for the morning, I will post an update either way. I hope I can be a happy ending thread, so scared it’s going to go the other way! x

OP posts:
Laylattc · 08/06/2023 23:22

@katiekss yes you’re right aslong as I see something and it looks like it’s getting even the tiniest bit more noticeable then surely it can’t be a fourth indent. Great idea about the other tests, I’ve got my final frer, an easy@home and a clearblue 6 day early test all lined up ready for the morning! Hoping to see something on them, so nervous I just want it so badly. Thank you so much for your support today x
