@Favofit just jumping in here as I had my scan a couple of weeks ago. They said it didn't matter when in the cycle they did it but interestingly you could see that I had very recently ovulated as there was a misshapen follicle just turned into a corpus luteum. So that made it seem that I had just ovulated but my bbt and app tracking said I ovulated a day later. Makes me think that my temp rise might be a bit slow and I should assume I ovulate earlier than the app always predicts.

That's really interesting thank you xx

Favofit · 06/06/2023 14:27

There you are 🤗🤗🤗

HyggeTyggeDotCom · 06/06/2023 14:21

Lovely lines there @Snowdrop79 !

Has anyone had a Antral Follicle Count scan before ? Just wondered if there is a specific time during the cycle when this is completed ? Would doing this on/around ovulation be risky or irrelevant? Tia xx

glasspaw · 06/06/2023 13:50

@emmatcc1 prior to DS1 I ovulated on CD14/15, so I’m assuming it’ll be the same now given my cycle length is the same but I’m using test strips and BBT to try and get a more accurate picture now that we are actively trying. How about you?

that sounds like a healthy way to go about it. I know my partner will feel pressurised if I give him too much information so I think I probably just need to instigate at the right time. We didn’t have this first time around because it just sort of happened! I ordered all the test kit stuff and had my BFP before it arrived. We got so lucky.

emmatcc1 · 06/06/2023 13:44

@glasspaw I’m cd7 too. When are you ovulating?
My partner knows about me tracking ovulation. He even asks how my opks are looking and I tell him when I get a positive. I think it helps that we don’t dtd obsessively around ovulation time but rather spontaneously and once on the day of peak test.

glasspaw · 06/06/2023 13:30

@SouthSpringMoon haha. I LOVE that. Perhaps this is an excuse to buy some new lingerie? 😅

SouthSpringMoon · 06/06/2023 13:24

@PeeBeee lets the TWW start !! Well like the TDW in your case 😁 finger crossed and let’s enjoy life in the meantime :))

SouthSpringMoon · 06/06/2023 13:23

@glasspaw i like the data part too hihi but for me it was a defo no no to involve hubby not only would he be bored but it would stress him I think , what’s the point at least one of the two need to be chilled 😂 just put on some nice lingerie on the good days and they usually don’t need more explanation ahah

SouthSpringMoon · 06/06/2023 13:20

@riverlodge90 yes let’s be chilled 😃 where are you at in your cycle ?

PeeBeee · 06/06/2023 13:13

Hi all! Finally 1 or 2 dpo and refuse to test to 11dpo as thats when I got my bfp with dd in 2021! It’s going to be a long 10 days!

first cycle ttc#2!

glasspaw · 06/06/2023 13:08

CD7 for me. I’m trying to get my head around the ovulation tracking because I didn’t do any of this last time.

my partner and I agreed we were ready to try again, but I suspect he won’t want to know about the tracking aspects. Do you guys talk to your OH about where you are in the cycle, test strips etc? I worry it might ruin the ‘moment’ 😅

I’m happy doing it, I love the data!

SouthSpringMoon · 06/06/2023 12:56

@Snowdrop79 oh yeah!! I am so happy for you!!! I feel so cheered up reading your post :)) still have to wait a few days before testing I think I’ll wait Friday 9pm to do my first testing and try to resist the urge before 😂 I had no symptom of pregnancy before 4/5 weeks pregnant with my first so I wouldn’t read too much into it and my only symptom for months was cramps and nausea so lol not too much too look forward to hihi I remember my hubby reaction to first he was like mesmerized and then cried, which is rare, so kind of cute 🥰 hope the testing at doc goes well let us know and after @Mangotango39 i can’t wait for our next BFP 🤩

Snowdrop79 · 06/06/2023 11:59

@SouthSpringMoon @Mangotango39 thanks for checking in both! I have a done a test and it’s more positive today so I’m thrilled. Booked in for the GP next week. Told the other half too which was fun seen as it’s our first bub😂 I don’t think he could believe me. Still very little symptoms, which is almost unnerving.
Sending so much luck to those who will be testing in coming days.

@Hankthehonk @SouthSpringMoon

I totally agree, I read the book and chucked out all our tubberware and bottles.
Then took the vitamins and ate med style, didn't drink the entire cycle and then when I got the BFN I felt really disappointed as I thought I HAD to be pregnant as I'd done everything "right". I agree it probably caused more stress.

This month I am tracking ovulation but playing it cool. Think mentally that will help.

Hopefully we all get some results from being chilled 🤞🏼

Hankthehonk · 06/06/2023 11:12

@SouthSpringMoon Yes I agree with you! I'm still trying to find the right balance. I was quite relaxed about it until I had a miscarriage, and then I think I transferred my emotions about the loss onto obsessing over everything I could possibly do to get pregnant again. So I'm trying not to give myself a hard time.

I figure exercising regularly and eating better have no downside so I'm going to try to focus on those - I've cut down alcohol and caffeine but not abstaining from them completely. Because you're right, it is also important to enjoy life in the meantime.

Kez437 · 06/06/2023 11:12

Hi hope you don't mind me joining. Trying for baby no.3. Currently 9DPO and impatiently tested and obviously it came back negative. I didn't test first thing in the morning either 🙄 my boobs are killing me and I feel I could be pregnant but then there's just symptom spotting so trying to be patient now and not test again until AF due on Sunday (which is also my daughters 3rd birthday 🙈) TTC is emotionally draining! Only first month trying since getting the bar removed from my arm and I'm already knackered

SouthSpringMoon · 06/06/2023 11:07

@Hankthehonk i was wondering about the whole should do this and that and not do this and that when stating to conceive but then as I got pregnant the first time not caring to do any of this I have decided to just live my life … I think sometimes all these « take control » of things end up taking too much control of us and the process … of course I won’t disagree healthy habits are always a good thing :):)

Hankthehonk · 06/06/2023 11:03

@riverlodge90 I don't know for sure if it was the supplements making a difference but I've stopped them just in case.
On reflection I think reading 'It Starts with the Egg" just stressed me out more, there are so many things you're meant to do or avoid that I constantly feel guilty. Obviously it's all really useful information but I haven't followed all the advice about plastics or nail varnish etc....yet. The dietary stuff is definitely helpful, I've been making an effort to eat less processed food, more protein and healthy fats and fewer carbs. I think exercising regularly is the biggest factor for me in regulating my cycles, I need to keep prioritising that.

StayingPerky · 06/06/2023 10:25

Jumping on this thread too, first
month TTC our first baby. Trying to just be relaxed about it but feeling the pressure 🫠. Currently CD16 so hoping it could be any day around now.
Sending best wishes to you all 🤞

SouthSpringMoon · 06/06/2023 08:15

@Snowdrop79 how are you getting on? Have you tested ?

SouthSpringMoon · 06/06/2023 08:05

@Pittiemama good luck with the heavy period that’s no fun :( get some deserved rest and then let’s get started on a new ttc month :)

Pittiemama · 06/06/2023 06:29

Well af arrived early and is horrendous ,so my cycle was only 25 days but i came off pop pill nearly 3 months ago so things are still settling on cd4 no idea when ill ovulate 🤷‍♀️

PineappleK · 06/06/2023 06:14

@Silverpixieflorence if your cycle is 28 days and you haven't ovulated by CD18 this could suggest either anovulatory cycle, or your luteal phase is too short to sustain implantation. Or this cycle may be longer than usual, which is totally normal (even if it's never happened to you before). It could also be that you've missed your peak, it may have happened quickly. You should LH test twice daily, I kept missing my peak only doing it once a day. Do you track your BBT? If so, a rise in temperature always confirms ovulation.
