Hi hope you don’t mind me joining this thread. I was wondering about ovulation and if anyone has had this. I sadly had a miscarriage at 9weeks last month, so am desperate to get pregnant again right away.

I heard about hyperovulation after mc, so I went straight to tracking at day 12 post mc I went from a negative to a positive ovulation test. This continued for 4days and we bd a couple of times until the test went negative again. Around the time I expected my period I got a feeling my period was near: tired, moody, tender breast and hungry. I checked my cervix and it was high and soft. The next day I got crazy amounts of EWCM I went and got an ovulation test again and it was positive on both tests. We decided to bd again that night but about an hour before I got pain on both sides rather than one. When i checked my cervix it seemed harder and slightly lower than the day before.

I’m just so worried we missed it by an a hour or two. Im so pissed off I had so little indication until I happened very quickly and my cervix got tight.

Can sperm get in if the cervix is harder if ovulation just happened? I hear it takes sperm time to get up there and eggs only live for about 12hrs, but I’m not sure why my cervix went so tight so early. I’ve heard that after a Mc my cycle might be off but I didn’t expect it would seem like i ovulated twice and happen so suddenly.

Any advice as I’m super upset I think missed a perfect chance. I’ve been ttc for a while now, and this was the most strongest sign I’ve had of ovulation yet 😠

Ok I caved and POAS this morning. I’m 13dpo and AF not due til Tuesday. BFN :( I’m not giving up just yet though, I have a whole load of symptoms and feel pregnant if that makes sense?

@GoneAwayWorld that second one looks really promising. Maybe try a FRER tomorrow? Keeping fingers crossed for you ❤️

@CinderRosie well done on holding testing ! I tested at 8dpo with a BFN and now 10 dpo but holding until Monday at 12dpo to retest

@GoneAwayWorld if I just about squint, but not sure...I got my first bfp on a frer with DS at 10dpo, maybe try again tomorrow?

@123456789sw let’s stay positive :) defo can’t wait AF on Wednesday I think it should be Monday and I’ve got one digital frer left so it will be it, if it’s negative then that will be it for this month , but hey there is always next month ! Let’s enjoy the weekend in the meantime

@PineappleK thanks! They’ve been in a box in a drawer in their original packaging so I think I’ll save myself some money and keep using them 😅

Im contemplating either tomorrow so 10dpo or Monday so 12dpo… most likely will wait Monday, don’t want to feel down for the weekend hihi

Ha, that nice to have a buddy in the torture!
I feel like for the first time, things went well this month so will be pretty gutted.
Id like to say I'll wait until AF (wed or thurs) but will probably test again Monday.
Don't have any more FRER left so will be a normo.
You.....?

@glasspaw I'm a scientist, as long as the tests have been kept in good storage conditions, i.e. not exposed to light or heat, they should be absolutely fine, I imagine for several months

@aimee25 I’ve been trying to do some research on this because I have a tonne of expired ovulation and pregnancy tests. There is no real consensus on whether it matters.

can someone with a BFP do a test with something that’s expired for science please? 😂
