1DPO and starting the TWW - who's with me?

Third cycle ttc #1, 2nd cycle using opks.

Ovulated yesterday (peak on Wednesday) and dtd Wednesday night.

I've got 23-25 day cycles and seem to have a 11 day luteal phase, so due on the 30th.

Anyone else around the same dpo wanting to ride the tww out together?

Hoping to hold off on testing until I'm 10dpo at the earliest, but we'll see.

Gearing up for the symptom spotting to begin in a week or so, even though I know I shouldn't.

Fair enough, I think you might be able to use some site or app to adapt temps taken at different times? I've definitely seen a couple of people on some threads talk about doing that.

I'm 4dpo today, so a couple of days ahead of you. Got my peak on Wednesday evening along with ovulation pains, so assuming ovulation sometime on Thursday. My high LH results dissipate within 12-24 hours usually, so I think I ovulate fairly soon after the peak.

I have shortish cycles though, so due AF on the 30th. Planning to test next Sunday and Monday then wait for AF to be late if bfn.

It can be, but can also get slightly higher as you get close to AF as the hormone levels can 'confuse' the test and read as LH. It doesn't usually mean anything either way, can go high right before a period, or if you're pregnant, and it could also just stay low. Can also mean (if you get another peak) that you didn't actually ovulate the first time and you're trying to again.

BBT or a progesterone test is how you'd confirm ovulation, LH just tells us our bodies are preparing for ovulation, not that it's actually happened, so you can have more than one peak in a cycle.

You have learnt a lot . I havnt tried doing the bbt because I wake at different times every day so thought I wouldnt be able to do it ,
So how many dpo are you ? Xx

I'm trying to be as chill about it as I can so far, I find myself getting excited when I peak and when it gets close to AF time (as I know I'll find out soon) but the wait between is a bit stressful as I'm so impatient 😅

I'm also one of those people who wants to know as much as possible, so I've read a lot of stuff about ttc and how it works and all that. Feel a bit of an expert already!

I'm just taking folic acid at the minute. I told myself I'd give it 6 cycles before I considered taking/doing anything else. My dad's recently been diagnosed with hemochromatosis (too much iron), meaning I might have it too as its genetic, so I don't want to take anything until I've at least been tested and have the okay from a doc that it won't be an issue.

I'm totally new to all of this so your knowledge can help me 😂 so I've been testing each day it's come down so much from my peak so speaking on that when your close to AF will you opk still be low ? .....
Yes that's sounds reasonable, just have fun for the time being , oh yes definitely get tested before taking anything xx

Of course you can all join, the more the merrier!

So sorry to hear about your previous losses @BudgetBuster , I've got my fingers crossed for you for this cycle!

It is all very exciting isn't it @Amy95 , its only my second cycle tracking so I'm still in the 'honeymoon phase' so to speak 😅

@winterbabyrose are you using LH strips/temping at all or just the app? The 14 days before period ovulation thing is an average, so many ovulate later or earlier than the apps predict. I actually only have an 11 day luteal phase so if I were to go off the apps, I'd be a few days out. I'd definitely recommend tracking lh for at least a couple of cycles, so you at least have an idea of your luteal phase and ovulation symptoms, etc. It's really helped me understand my body and cycles better.

If you really are 1-3dpo it'll just be a bug or progesterone related. Everything ive read so far says you can't have hcg related symptoms until after implantation which is 6dpo at the absolute earliest. I'm telling myself this constantly to stop from symptom spotting and driving myself mad 😅

Oh that is exciting 🎉🙌 I feel so positive this time around I've been through I think every emotion when It comes to ttc we had a few cycles off and now we're going for it 😂🥳 when I had my peak I was so excited 😂 who knew a pee stick could make you that happy , so how you finding ttc ?
I started Macaroot this month and partner is also taking vitamins xx

Joining if possible! According to Flo app I ovulated yesterday, but I am pretty sure I ovulated on Thursday so I am either 1dpo or 3dpo, not entirely sure! 😂🙃

I've also woken up feeling very nauseous today which is super unlike me - I'm never sick or nauseous, the last time was 1st trimester with my DD.... I know its super early for any symptoms but either its an early symptom or a very conveniently timed bug!!

Be careful with Flo app mine was way out so I thought I was ovulating and obviously I wasn't , that's why I started using opk tests xx

Hey everyone. Going to join you guys. I didn't track properly this month (missed a few tests and pretty sure my peak was one of them). I think I peaked Thursday so we DTD Thursday & Fridsy. I'm not too confident this month though. We had a MC at 5+3 in November, and a MC at 6+5 in April. Assuming my cycle regulates this month I'm due AF 31st.

Hi budget I think I've spoken to you in a previous post ...

Hi can I join I'm also on my tww 🎉 first time tracking so I'm so excited about everything this month , I'm currently 2dpo x

Hi ladies, it's nice to have a couple of others to get through the tww with!

@Pastaf0rbreakfast if you're ovulating, breastfeeding shouldn't interfere with conception at all I don't think?

Thankfully not started with the symptom spotting just yet as I know it's not possible to have any pg symptoms until after implantation, which can't have happened yet. I know last time I was pregnant (over a decade ago, ended in mc at 12ish weeks) my first symptoms were peeing alot, and milk cravings.

I'm mostly just impatient at the minute, want to fast forward time a week so i can know already 😅

@dcrxcm sorry to hear about the pcos, yeah, It can be hard not to get obsessive. That was me last cycle, trying to be a bit more relaxed about it this cycle.

@cdn298 I'll be testing next Sunday, so we can try to hold off before then and be test buddies!

Good luck to you all this cycle, hoping it's a lucky thread and we all get our bfp! I'm prepared for it to take a bit longer though, I'm 32 and overweight so aware it's unlikely to happen super quickly.

I’d like to join too, I’m a few days behind as only had a positive OPK this morning so ovulating today/tomorrow. DTD twice today and will try to in next few days as well so we’re hopefully covered.

It’s only first cycle trying for number 2, but I’m breastfeeding my 21 month old so expecting it to maybe take a while to conceive - hope not though!

How are those a bit further ahead doing? Hope symptom spotting isn’t taking over too much!

dcrxcm · 21/05/2023 22:31

I’ll join you ☺️

I have PCO. Never had any symptoms or irregular periods, only know due to a fertility MOT we did 8 months ago.

Now in first cycle TTC, stopped taking pill two months ago and periods came back right away (a happy surprise). Ovulation sticks imply I am ovulating now (ish), exactly when I should according to a normal cycle. Have DTD today, last few days and will tomorrow. Given ourselves the best chance thanks to our beginners optimism.

This is all very new to me and trying not to get anxious or too obsessive, which would be very like me…

Good luck to you both xxx

cdn298 · 21/05/2023 21:20

Hi I ovulated on Thursday too! 3dpo now. Not sure when AF is due as I have irregular cycles but hoping to hold off testing until at least next weekend x
