1DPO and starting the TWW - who's with me?

Third cycle ttc #1, 2nd cycle using opks.

Ovulated yesterday (peak on Wednesday) and dtd Wednesday night.

I've got 23-25 day cycles and seem to have a 11 day luteal phase, so due on the 30th.

Anyone else around the same dpo wanting to ride the tww out together?

Hoping to hold off on testing until I'm 10dpo at the earliest, but we'll see.

Gearing up for the symptom spotting to begin in a week or so, even though I know I shouldn't.

The mind really loves to play games in this two week wait, doesn’t it? 😅 it’s a real mind boggler that at this point whatever will be will be but I’m going through lots of scenarios in my head of what if…. How is everybody doing?

Really interested in the gender swaying you mention @ddaisynner , I had no idea this was a thing so I’ll be doing some extra googling.

News fresh in over here from the fertility doctor, DH has not got the best swimmers (there’s a lot of them and they seem well formed but not necessarily swimming the best!) so wondering how that’s going to affect our journey.

My friend who literally just had her bfp was trying for about 3/4 months her husband had swimming but they were shapped a weird way and she litreally just caught so , there's a positive for you 🎉🤞xxx

I literally live on wine coffee and cheese 😂

I also live for this 😂😂😂🙌

LeopardLover · 24/05/2023 16:53

@BudgetBuster Seems you're on track for a little lady 🤣💜

@ddaisynner This is fascinating! But now even more convinced #2 will be a boy. I survive on tap water and tea. I eat tomatoes and potatoes all week long and don't touch yogurt, milk, wine or coffee 😂 I do love cheese though 🤤 PH sticks! Wow! So cool.

ddaisynner · 24/05/2023 16:19

@LeopardLover so basically foods that are high in salt and Potassium are meant to sway boy while foods that are high in calcium and magnesium are meant to sway girl :)

More acidic foods keep your pH levels low so I got those little pH sticks to keep checking. But I'm basically having yogurt, milk rice cheese and pasta for a girl.

While potatoes, tomatoes and bananas are super good for boy sway :)

Wine and coffee is also good for a girl, cranberry juice as well. And for the boy tap water and tea lol

This will be baby number 3 and I already have two boys so would love a girl bit honestly if a another boy comes along I'm not gonna be sad. But will be the last baba so want to do everything I can to try to sway c:

We nearly did bd on Saturday with peak day but my youngest had a nap and so he went yo bed super late. But we said if I don't catch by next cycle we will add in more bds and try and sway with just diet lol 😆 but I'm trying to be optimistic that this is the month 🤞

I do believe it's more ph than timing tbh my friend is having her 4th girl after doing the deed on peak and ovulation day so I think it's more based off her diet (and she likes the wine lmao) compared to me who enjoys salt, potato and no alcohol so honestly doesn't surprise me why I've had two boys so during the af to o I'm trying Mt hardest to keep a low pH. The things we do honestly 😪🤣

Oh sooo cute you have two boys already 🥰 I've not heard this re diet!? What diet should you be aiming for? I have the same diet as you hahha

Hope you don't mind me joining for a chat c: I'm currently 3dpo. Got my peak on Saturday midday c: bd on Thursday before. I'm currently doing the baby dust method to try and sway for a girl so it gives me a 3 day cut off c":

Makes conceiving so much less fun and more complicated lol

Oh I love this haha! I got a positive OPK on Saturday, and DTD Thursday and then Sunday (likely my ovulation day). I did think we might be more likely to conceive a girl with that Thursday DTD but I'd be happy with either. Ideally we'd have another boy 💜

Pastaf0rbreakfast · 24/05/2023 08:54

Ooh that’s interesting @ddaisynner we we’re actually going to try and sway for a girl too (just a bit of fun, we are 100% happy with either) so DTD Wednesday then stopped but then I didn’t get positive OPK until Sunday and we thought it was a bit far off and we didn’t want to waste a cycle (also have no self control so we were finding it really hard to not DTD which really takes the fun out of it!).

So this month we have DTD 5 days before ovulation, twice the day before ovulation, day of ovulation, and day after. Pretty sure that will cover us 😂 and it’s literally the opposite of what we were planning 🙈

Amy95 · 24/05/2023 08:50

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 24/05/2023 08:38

Good luck to you then @Amy95 , fingers crossed we both get our positives soon!

Came off the pill about 9 months ago but we weren't actively trying or anything (partner knew i wasnt on birth control though ofc), just dont like being on birth control, the hormones mess with me. Coil was the mildest but when the thread got stuck in my cervix and had to be painfully 'dug' out when removed, i decided against another one 😅

Only second cycle properly trying.

Well I know all about the pill it was hell for me I've been off contraception for about 3/4 years now took a while for my body to get back into the swing of things , omg that sounds awful , hopefully it happens for you soon xxx

I tracked with opk @Amy95 so can't be 100% when I actually ovulated as I don't temp, but it gives me a good idea.

Some Ovulate a day or two after the peak, some less than 12 hours after, and I believe some (rarely) before the peak so it's definitely not an exact science. Generally 24-36 hours after on average.

Feeling hopeful, but I know it's only my second cycle properly trying (wasn't preventing for a few months but only starting tracking with opk last cycle), so my expectations aren't super high.

I'm 32, overweight and with short cycles, so I know it could take a few attempts but I'd be chuffed if it happened this cycle!

How long have you been trying?

This is my chart I peaked and then my levels came down it's.my first time tracking aswell so I'm all new to this , I can bbt cause my body clock is a bit everywhere , I got my fingers crossed for you Hun 🎉🤞 well over 2 years on and off , not every cycle because I'd got so stressed and upset when It didn't Happen but this cycles first one back actually trying and tracking , so hopefully our bfps will come soon , how long have you been trying ? I'm 28 and partner is 32 xx

Only 2dpo here and it’s already dragging! I think if and when I actually get pregnant it will fly by with also looking after a toddler.

Like everyone I guess, I just want to know either way! I feel really uneasy in the 2ww but I think that is partly anticipation/not knowing which way it will go, and also the fact the everything else in near future is so uncertain: will we be trying next month? Will I be pregnant at that event in 2 months time?

I’m not a fan of not knowing and being able to plan, so I find it unsettling but also know that it’s a good lesson on relaxing and letting things go a bit.

Hope you aren’t in too much pain @XenaTheWarriorPrincess

I'm 4dpo today and wow is all I can say 😂it's going so slow .... No I like to know what's going on aswell , the not knowing scares me , but we will get our times soon xx

Amy95 · 24/05/2023 07:56

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 24/05/2023 07:28

I'm either 6 or 7 dpo today.

Depends on the person. Advise is generally not to test until you miss a period for the most accurate results, but no one has that willpower 😅

Takes at least a couple of days after implantation for hcg to rise enough to be detected on a sensitive test, so from 10dpo is a good rule of thumb if you want to early test.

The downside of early testing is potential false negatives (as it can take a good few days for hcg to rise enough to be detected for some women) and knowing about chemical pregnancies (very early loss where implantation failed).

I'm early testing until/unless I see evidence that we can conceive, then if it's a chemical I'll just test after AF late from then on. Testing from Sunday.

Oooo there's exciting, I don't have will power when it comes to testing , I really hope it's our month are you feeling positive? Didn't you track this month then xx

It definitely is @Amy95 , wish I could just jump forward in time so I could know either way 😅

Unfortunately, seems I may be getting a uti. Keep weeing every like 45 mins or so and tiny bit of pain when I do, so not IB just a lovely UTI.

How are you feeling today?

My sister when she was pregnant that was her first symptom 😂 I'm feel good tired but obviously thats from my 4.30 wake up call for work 🤦🏼‍♀️ so when do people normally start testing and are you 7dpo today ?xx

Tiny pink spot when wiping just now, and small amount of slight brown-tinted CM when wiping earlier.

May be a smidge too early for IB (6 dpo now, 7 if i ovulated the same day as my peak instead of next day), but if it's not at least I know it's a normal thing for me as I've never noticed any spotting before a week before AF (noticed it twice previously, both times about 3 or 4 days before period started).

So, either IB or normal cycle stuff that I can make sure I don't have false hope/obsess over if it happens again in the future!

Sounds good 🤞🎉 I feel like this is dragging so much 😂

Hi all! I’m on DPO 2 and already the sleepless nights thinking about whether my tummy rumbling is a symptom (it’s hunger it’s nearly 1am after all).

DD is 1 years old and I’m turning 34 this summer so I want to start trying as it may take some time!
