That’s really good news @YellowLoafers . I hope all goes well with the scan.

October1979 · 07/05/2023 10:49

@YellowLoafers that is great news. I also bled badly. I had a number of gushes - (red blood running down my legs - sorry tmi) in the first trimester started at about 7 weeks. Turned out it was a haematoma which resolved itself after 6 weeks and that was my triplet pregnancy and all was fine. Apparently it's common in IVF xxx

Thanks @YellowLoafers Good luck with your scan on Wednesday, hope it all goes well ☺️ x

YellowLoafers · 07/05/2023 10:44

Update from me, the nurse kindly called me yesterday which was so nice. The clinic have been great, I can’t fault them. My levels have risen “nicely” to 14000, which she says is where they’d expect them to be. So it looks to confirm your advice to me @99pctpractice about the levels taking longer to double. I’m hoping I’ll be like you and @MattieandmummyandIs being one who bled but actually all OK in the end 🤞🙏

The nurse said they can’t guarantee that the numbers increasing means that all is well with the pregnancy. So they’ve confirmed my viability scan has been brought forward to Wednesday coming when I should be just 7 weeks. More waiting, but I feel like there’s some hope now 🙏 The on off cramps and brown spotting carries on though and the constant worry is wearing me down. I just have to stay positive.

Welcome 👋 @ab0146 I’m so sorry for your loss and fingers tightly crossed for you going forward 🤞🤞

MattieandmummyandIs · 06/05/2023 20:33

@YellowLoafers just thought I would pop in to give you a positive story of someone who bled a lot during my second pregnancy. Right up until I think around 28 weeks. It was ok in the end and baby stayed in and alive so don't give up just yet. Plus as someone else said when your HCG levels get to a certain point they do actually stop doubling so quickly. Fingers crossed for you x

ab0416 · 06/05/2023 16:30

Hope you don't mind me joining, as technically I'm only 39, but would be 40 by the time I had a baby - if I get that far!

My OH and I are trying to conceive #1 and we have no other children between us. We started trying in the new year and managed to get pregnant immediately, which was a big shock with me being 39 and him 44! But, it wasn't meant to be and I lost the baby at 9 weeks last month. I'm now just waiting for my af to return so we can try again - the wait is not fun. Really hoping we're able to conceive as quickly again because of my age, but I've read that it can sometimes take a long while to conceive after a miscarriage, but I guess everyone is different.

Anyway, thank you for letting me join in, and I am sending all the positive vibes for BFP and sticky beans to you all ☺️

YellowLoafers · 06/05/2023 07:58

Thanks for your support everyone, it’s been a tough few days so I appreciate you taking the time to reply ❤️ I’m trying to be hopeful, but body seems to like nipping that in the bud by spotting again randomly, sometimes brown sometimes red/pink, so it’s all a bit horrid. I dread going to the loo! I had third blood test yesterday and the nurse I think took pity on me and said she’d see if anyone was around to call me today rather than waiting til Monday. She said no promises though, so I’ll be glued to the phone today as well as Monday! 🙄

@Iusedtobedontcall Harriet is a beautiful name, thank you for sharing with us ❤️ It sounds a cliche when you aren’t in it, but grief really does come in waves and can hit when you least expect it. Sending love.

@Kelb79 Exciting times ahead! Can you select how much you’re told about her, or do you just get a wedge of info when the clinic is ready to share? I can’t wait to follow your journey! x

Iusedtobedontcall · 05/05/2023 21:29

I’m so excited for you @Kelb79 . Crossing everything for you.

I have had a kir Royale and a red wine which made me cry about my girl. She was called Harriet. DH doesn’t see that she was a person and she existed for me, even if she was just a foetus for him. I wish I’d given birth to her so at least I could have seen her. But I’m ok. It comes in waves. Mostly ok these days.

Kelb79 · 05/05/2023 13:15

@YellowLoafers sending you all of my love and crossing everything for you until you get the results ❤️🙏🏼 I completely understand the feeling that it’s all over but definitely don’t give up hope yet. My mum had full regular periods through most of her pregnancy with me - it can happen, especially with IVF pregnancies. HCG going up, even if not double is still a hopeful sign 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 hope you can find a way to relax over the weekend xxxxx ❤️❤️❤️

I feel like time has stopped 🤣🫣 it’ll be 4 weeks until planned transfer date on Monday and I’ve been waiting to hear news about the donor but I found out this week that my clinic doesn’t tell you anything until they get to the day 5/6 results of embryo culture 😳😳
I thought I’d get updates along the way! 🤣
interestingly though it’s made me think a lot about the donor , something I wasn’t very comfortable with before. I feel like I can actually acknowledge her now 🙏🏼❤️😊

Littlemiss42andfabulous · 05/05/2023 03:08

@seashoreone wishing you all the best going forward too. XxX

@YellowLoafers sorry to hear things aren't progressing smoothly. Mumsnet is full of people who have had bleeds in early pregnancy yet gone on to have a healthy baby so there's still hope (although I can appreciate the anxiety you must currently be feeling). Even though the HCG number hasn't doubled, it's high and is going up, so going in the right direction. I hope you have good news on Monday xxx

99pctpractice · 04/05/2023 23:04

@YellowLoafers I'm so sorry that you're going through that. I had a massive bleed at nearly 6 weeks, major cramping etc and thought it was game over, but the next day had a scan and it turned out to be a haematoma. Bleeds are more common with ivf pregnancies and your hcg levels sound really high even if they're not doubling, and I think once they get higher then they can take a bit longer to double. Crossing all fingers for you and sending lots of hugs xxx

Marvellouslymadmum · 04/05/2023 19:34

@seashoreone good luck for the future xx

@YellowLoafers I do hope that it is as the nurse said rather than the worst! I know what you mean about mc, I naively thought when I got pg 6 years ago that that was it and we would be having a little one, but no and nothing since which is what confuses me! Keeping everything crossed for you xx

Iusedtobedontcall · 04/05/2023 17:44

@YellowLoafers - I’m sorry to hear that - I will keep crossing my fingers for you. The waiting game is horrid.

Hope you are feeling ok @seashoreone - that sounds like a hard decision to come to.

YellowLoafers · 04/05/2023 16:30

Hi All

Bit of a rubbish update from me. I started brown spotting and cramping on Sunday morning, so I called the clinic who said I needed HCG blood tests 2 days apart. Had first test Monday, result Tuesday said levels were 6000 odd. They said that was good for 5 weeks. Tuesday night I had a big red bleed, lasted for a few hours with heavy cramps. Clinic still wanted to test blood on Wednesday even though the bleed seemed pretty conclusive to me. I was expecting the result to confirm game over, but the nurse called to say it’s increased to 8000 something. So HCG hasn’t doubled like they say it should over 48 hours. Nurse said every pregnancy different etc, so I need another blood test tomorrow, results Monday.

So it’s looking pretty bleak for me. Clearly, bleeds and HCG not doubling isn’t good. I just wish I’d been told one way or another today, rather than another bank holiday weekend in limbo. I feel so naive. I know miscarriages are so common. It’s just that I thought the infertility bit was the hard part. Once pregnant, especially with a PGTA tested embryo, I thought it should all be alright 😞

@Rainbows121 I can’t help with any of that as I didn’t have those issues. Were the tests done at a clinic or a kit? If the latter, a good conversation with an expert will be beneficial. I’m sure there’ll be someone along here soon who can help as well.

@catinthesunshine I hear you. I’ve thought the same about freezing eggs a million times. I think there’s a bit more normality and awareness of it now, but 10 years ago it seemed like something only wealthy celebrities did. If only for a Time Machine!

@seashoreone Sending you a hug x

seashoreone · 04/05/2023 12:41

@Marvellouslymadmum @TraceyTarotReader thank you 🙏
I'm not going to spend any more money on OPKs.
I sort of know when my fertile days are...
But with age and cycles now 22/24 ...I think I'm heading into menopause territory.....

I'm blessed to have DD1...which I feel very fortunate that I was able to have her at age 40.
This is me waving bye... 👋
Good luck to each and everyone of you on your journeys TTC.
This is the end of my TTC days at 44.
Xx

TraceyTarotReader · 03/05/2023 15:55

catinthesunshine · 03/05/2023 11:18

Sorry I’ve been really bad at keeping up with the comments and replying to people, I don’t mean to be so low effort on this thread. Just feeling really down today. I wish I’d frozen my eggs when I was younger and having health problems and thinking I could never conceive.

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/05/2023 11:10

@seashoreone I am 44 as well but I've spoken to loads who have got their baby at our age and beyond! 🤞🏻 for you. There's always options to help as well, that's my plan. I'm saving at the moment for ivf abroad prob 1 round with oe then de or 1 tandem then de I will get my baby one way or another!

TraceyTarotReader · 01/05/2023 06:46

@TraceyTarotReader I'm out again! AF just showed with a vengeance...probably why I've been feeling nauseous and headaches...😩
Well I'm just going to say it...I think I may have reached the end of the line , I'm 44.
I have a beautiful DD who is a joy.
And I may be one and done. 😊
I do t know anyone who has got pregnant at 45! I think the probability is very low...

TraceyTarotReader · 29/04/2023 15:21

TraceyTarotReader · 29/04/2023 14:22

@YellowLoafers tell me about it I hate that hormone give so many false hopes but tbh I’m actually quite calm this month I just hate the TWW it just goes by so slow yes not long now x

Rainbows121 · 29/04/2023 14:09

Hi all, I have paid for some fertility blood tests because I didn’t feel my doctor was particular helpful and just put it down to me being 43 for the reason I hadn’t fallen pregnant. I got the results on Thursday. I’ll post below parts of the report

My AMH levels are in normal range for my age, however more towards the lower end. My FSH & LH levels are also normal range.

What it did show was i have high prolactin levels. This means that if prolactin levels are too high or too low, your menstrual cycle can be disrupted, stopping ovulation from taking place.

My oestradiol (E2) levels are also high. As oestradiol is one of the main hormones that regulates your menstrual cycle, excess levels of oestradiol may disrupt your menstrual cycle and result in irregular periods

I have irregular periods periods making it hard to track ovulation so finding this out is really helpful.

Now Im on Dr Google to see how I can reduce levels. I know I need to try and get a different doctor but just feel I’ll have to explain myself all over again.

Has anyone had anything similar and lowered prolactin & E2 levels naturally?
I’m already having acupuncture as I think that helped me have my 1st baby after 2 x MMC

If you got to the end of this post, thank you for reading 😀

TraceyTarotReader · 29/04/2023 13:38

@Iusedtobedontcall thank you but I’m sure I won’t get much sleep they get very excited when they come to nanny’s for a sleep over my grandaughter has gone to the cinema with my my oldest daughter and my grandson who is 2 and half will be staying in playing games and he just dosnt sleep when he has a sleep over till late about 10pm I’m there dying to go sleep and he’s just running riot the joys but I wouldn’t have it any other way . I see my grandchildren every day but they don’t sleep over much but it will be lovely to have them over for the night x

Iusedtobedontcall · 29/04/2023 11:09

Thanks @YellowLoafers - I do feel positive now that I do have time left. I am unlikely to have PCOS because I have regular periods and no other symptoms but the high AMH means I might have PCO without the syndrome which doesn’t affect fertility. I suspect egg quality is my issue and not number of eggs, so it’s a case of getting the right one!

We still don’t have the results from the genetic testing but I’m fairly confident that we were just unlucky as we’ve 5 healthy dc between us. That makes me sound greedy wanting another 🙈

Hope you are feeling better soon @Noodles4Me - toothache is horrid. I have a cold and fertile window starts tomorrow so I’ll have to muster up some energy.

@seashoreone hope this cycle is a lucky one for you.

@TraceyTarotReader good luck this month. Hope you have a lovely time with the grandchildren tonight and they let you get some sleep!
