how long have you been trying naturally? Are you cycle tracking? Have you had any tests yet?
lots of people over 40 conceive naturally so definitely don’t rule it out too soon ❤️
Get tests done … AMH to check your ovarian reserve, ovarian volume checks, baseline scans etc Get tests for your partner too. There are quite a few potential steps before IVF 👌🏼
I’m 43, been TTC for over 3 years, had all the tests which initially came back as unexplained infertility, conceived naturally, had an MMC, nothing since, AMH dropped off a lot, we started own egg IVF a year ago, found out then that OH had low sperm
motility that had never been tested for so that was potentially the initial issue 😐 3 rounds of egg retrievals later, 3 embryos, none viable. I’ve been told my chance of success with IVF is 7% so we’ve started donor egg IVF.
But that’s my story, yours could be sooo different! Ask us anything you need to - this group have experienced most in the fertility world ❤️ but definitely get tests and all the information you can before making any decisions xxx 🙏🏼😘

Hi ladies just wondering have any of you had any professional advice from a fertility doctor regarding odds of getting pregnant over 40? Has anyone had ivf , and if so are you using your own eggs. We planning ivf later this year ( trying to get the money together, hoping September/,october time well have enough) but I'll turn 40 in August I've been on letrozole but had no success

ive now got a throat infection (possibly strep throat 🙄), am shattered and have completely lost my voice!! 🤣 (OH loves it!!)
I’ve been prescribed antibiotics but need to check with the clinic if it’s ok to take them and tbh I’m taking soooo many meds right now that I think I’d almost rather not… my instinct is just to push on through but with transfer in 3 weeks (eeeeekk!! 😳😳) I want to be as healthy as I can!
Its all starting to feel very real! 🫣🫣🫣

@unicornglitter123 i am the same really re ivf. I also think I’ll see what happens but then feel like I will regret it one day in another year and like time is disappearing. I don’t know anyone around me who has had a baby past 40.

@pcmod I’m the same really in thinking I’ll leave it to chance as it’s out of my hands then, but then find it disappointing that it’s not working.

I was pregnant just over a year ago - that was very unexpected and I struggled with full on anxiety like a black cloud, feeling I couldn’t do it, things would go wrong, I was too old, it would not be good for my daughters etc, I also had terrible nausea and sickness (more so then my previous pregnancies). I had never felt like that before. The sickness made the anxiety worse and the anxiety made the sickness worse so it was an awful time and then it all ended.

Since about December this year I’ve felt like it would be great and all the issues aren’t issues so will see what happens, then make sure I find out before the sickness kicks in so I can think clearly. In Jan I got my latest AF in years so took a test feeling sure I was pregnant but I wasn’t. I have 2 children already.

Hi Ladies

It’s a good update from me…baby is fine! Heartbeat visible, yolk sac and foetal pole all present and correct. I’m measuring 6w6d which they said is fine for 7 week scan. They found a bleed area that looks like blood vessels and they think that’s what’s caused the bleeding, so I’m really pleased there’s an explanation for that! Nurse advised to still attend my scan appointment next week that was brought forward, for “reassurance” and to see what the vessels are doing. I’m so relieved I don’t know what to do with myself! But a glass of alcohol free Prosecco is helping!

@Isitthathardtobekind we are TTC naturally. IVF isn't an option.
We have been trying for nearly a year...some of that not so much! And to be honest at times - it hasn't been every other day as they suggest...DH away with work etc...

I'm TTC number 2. I don't know if there is any truth in it, but they say higher chances if you have had a baby already.

My DS is 4.

@pcmod thank you yes I’ve had lots of snuggles he is tiny but perfect and my daughter dosnt even look like she’s just given birth I’ve told her to take it easy cause once she comes down it will hit her like a ton of bricks but she’s doing really well here is baby Charlie my perfect grandson 💙

@Isitthathardtobekind I’m 44, so the age thing is definitely on my mind. Am aware of people who do have babies in mid to late 40s without IVF etc but also know the chances are rapidly decreasing. I had a chemical pregnancy a couple of months ago so know I can get pregnant, not sure if my eggs are any good though. Told myself I’ll leave it to fate, and see what happens. Maybe I’ll have to reassess if the emotional toll becomes too great.

@TraceyTarotReader Congratulations on the new arrival, glad to hear both mum and baby are doing well. Hope you’re getting chance for lots of baby snuggles!

@unicornglitter123 are you trying to conceive naturally? How long have you been trying? I’m 43 and am very tempted. I always thought once I passed 40, that would be it- I wasn’t trying but if it happened..

Then at 43 I thought only at the start because once I would hit my 44th birthday due date it would be too late, but now I think it’ll be fine to be 44 and have a baby.

I think it may be becoming more of a focus the closer I get to it being too late. Sometimes I wonder if that’s what it is - like this is my last chance.
