@Autumngirl7 @TraceyTarotReader would love to connect as well..
I've just turned 45, TTC number 2. Been trying for about 18 months....nothing.
Although im not sure we are TTC enough, on the right days 😣🤪

TraceyTarotReader · 03/10/2023 10:04

@Autumngirl7 welcome I think we all go through the broody stage I’m 52 yes I know that’s old to even consider ttc but I’m NTNP I have had secondary infertility since I was 33 yrs old I have 3 children from previous relationship and 3 baby angels with my current husband I think getting older makes you want it even more I’m obviously younger than you but I’ll be here if you would like to chat all the best x

BertLiv · 02/10/2023 16:15

@Marvellouslymadmum Yeah, that's one of the reasons we didn't go private. Clinic have called and they need to speak to the doctor before advising me properly. He is already gone home for the day, but hopefully I'll get my answer tomorrow.

Autumngirl7 · 02/10/2023 13:03

Good afternoon everyone. I am 43 and thought I was done with babies. Have 2 ds 18 & 7. Recently I can’t look at a pram without feeling broody and feel overwhelmed with my maternal urges. I had lost several babies and scared of loss. Last list was a medical termination in April. I really am scared that I am too old please don’t be offended just what I’ve been made to feel. Really need some people to connect with. X

Marvellouslymadmum · 02/10/2023 12:30

@BertLiv I'd rather save my money for the de ivf so I'll wait for the laparoscopy and hope it's not too long a wait!
Hopefully your clinic will get back to you asap

BertLiv · 02/10/2023 10:13

@Marvellouslymadmum I know. I've called the clinic this morning and am awaiting a call back. I'm going to ask them if they think there's still any chance and, if not, if they know where I can get a scan or blood test. Annoyingly, when we started with them they had someone 30 minutes from us who could have given me a scan, but she retired and they haven't replaced her. Sorry to hear it's taken so long, but glad the doctor is finally listening to you! I had a laparoscopy last year and was on a waiting list for 9 months, but we did look up the cost of going private and it not cheap, but certainly worth looking around if you can afford it. We didn't because I was having a hysteroscopy as well, so it was even more pricey!

Hi @Supertrooper101 - welcome! I'm 40, have had no pregnancies (that I know of) and am currently waiting for AF to arrive so that we can start the donor egg process.

I'm sorry about your MMC, I have experienced 2 x MMC in a row and know how painful it can be. My 3rd pregnancy resulted in my gorgeous boy and im now ttc #2

TT82 · 02/10/2023 08:27

@Supertrooper101 hi and welcome 🤗
Sorry don't have links to previous parts, joined this part 4.
I am also 41, had lots of chemicals, then 1 ivf cycle with 4 embryos but all abnormal from PGTA testing.. End of December another EC and then we will decide what's next. Have 2 kids, but really really want one more 🥰

@Marvellouslymadmum oh what a pain you are going through 🥺 and all this frustration and delays! Hopefully after you will be rewarded by a healthy pregnancy ❤️

Update on my melatonin usage, headaches stopped and I think it was a virus, which my son had before me and now my husband fighting it with similar horrible headache.

Marvellouslymadmum · 01/10/2023 23:48

I have a little news here - when I spoke to the doctor he said he didn't know why they did fsh without oestrogen as it means nothing without it and he wasn't concerned. I then finally got a phone call about my gynaecologist appointment! I thought it may be too late now but I'll go anyway, it was a last minute appointment and he said he is going to give me tranexamic acid to help with the af heaviness and pain but yes it is highly likely I have endometriosis and he will call me in 5 months 🙄 to see how that works but if I'm happy he will put be down for a laparoscopy 🎉 I've only been asking for 2.5 years!! He also said I'm probably in peri menopause but that's standard for my age and the laparoscopy will likely help with fertility too for natural or donor egg. Only thing is it may be a year until I have one meaning I could be post menopausal by then but at least I'll have the best chance with de! I could've cried when he just listened and agreed with me when everyone else has been so dismissive! Would've been nice if it had been sorted years ago but at least it may still help!

Marvellouslymadmum · 01/10/2023 23:39

@TT82 sorry I've not used melatonin but I know lots of autistic children and those with adhd take it without side effects

@BertLiv I'm sorry, it's really frustrating! I wish there was a way no know absolutely then as disappointing as it is, at least you know!

praying4babba · 01/10/2023 17:11

My doctor suggested melatonin. I tried it but always felt so hungover with it the next day.

BertLiv · 01/10/2023 08:40

@Marvellouslymadmum No matter what I do, the what if is always in the back of my mind!

I’ve just taken a first response with FMU and negative again. I’ll be a week late tomorrow (working from when I ovulated) and so, sadly, I think it’s just another delayed period. I’m going to call my clinic tomorrow for advice as still hesitant to take the norethisterone, just in case I am, despite the fact that it’s very unlikely. Not really sure what else I can do, other than try to find a private blood test.

Hope everyone else is having a better start to their Sunday!

TT82 · 30/09/2023 13:24

Forgot to add, I live in Europe and order from Germany, no need for prescription as it is classified as supplement not drug

TT82 · 30/09/2023 13:23

Hi all, hope you are enjoying the Sunday :)

Wanted to ask if anyone had side effects from taking melatonin? I've decided to add it after reading It starts with an egg book, as last 2 yesrs had bad sleep, which probably also added to bad egg quality.
2 days I am taking 1mg before bed and wake up with extremely bad headache, calming down by lunch only.. Not sure if it is melatonin side effect or just some sort of virus. Also did anyone notice good effect of adding ot on quality of egg or just feeling?

My second EC scheduled for 1st of December approximately, want to add any supplements that might help

Marvellouslymadmum · 30/09/2023 00:18

@BertLiv it's so annoying when af doesn't show! You always have that what if in the back of your head even when you know it's unlikely but some peoples what ifs come true!

BertLiv · 29/09/2023 17:27

@Marvellouslymadmum Hi! It’s very frustrating, isn’t it! My AF used to be very regular bit when I came off the pill and we started TTC, it randomly delayed some months. I was just praying this was our cycle - we dtd 6 days in a row (good work from my hubby!), I had a good peak and then worked on being positive etc and not stressing (as much as possible) in the TWW. I’m going to do a test on Sunday morning and then call the clinic on Monday if no AF or BFP. I don’t want to wait too long but obviously really don’t want to risk taking noresthisterone if it turns out I am pregnant…

Marvellouslymadmum · 29/09/2023 11:47

Hi @BertLiv and welcome, I've been in the same position, I was on clomid and it made my cycles all weird not that they were ever regular in the first place!! I'm on the route to de now too as it didn't work for me but 🤞🏻 for you!

BertLiv · 27/09/2023 13:01

Hello ladies,
Hope it's alright to join this thread!
I'm 40 and we have been trying for 3 years now. Currently either 6 or 2 days late (app v two weeks after I actually ovulated) but the tests I've taken are BFN. I have a low egg count and have been on Letrozole for 6 months and seemed to ovulate this cycle, so had everything crossed. The next step for us is donor eggs, but obviously can't start that process until we know for sure - so in limbo (again). I'm holding out hope that it'll just be a late BFP, but I don't know how long to wait as my period has a habit of delaying itself for no apparent reason.
Anyway, hope everyone is doing ok!

Marvellouslymadmum · 19/09/2023 20:19

@Kelb79 thank you! I'd written down that clinic in my donor boys but couldn't remember who it related to! I am happy with anonymous donors, I know they check medical History for major things and try and match someone to your eye, hair colour etc. I don't see the need for a de baby to need to contact the donor really it's not like adoption where people want to know why they were adopted. That's my take anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️, I've literally no clue how it all works as not had ivf at all but I'm trying to get a good picture so I can work out total costs including flights and everything to make sure I know what I need to save up!

Kelb79 · 19/09/2023 19:55

@Marvellouslymadmum i went to IVF Spain in Alicante. Great clinic! And my Dr (Herrera) was amazing! Quicker than most places as they have a huge list of donors ready to go but it’s anonymous so if that’s an issue for you then avoid Spain.
I took progesterone and oestrogen in the lead up to transfer and from then a whole big pile of stuff - still progesterone and oestrogen but also Clexane, prednisolone, aspirin and folic acid.

Marvellouslymadmum · 19/09/2023 18:01

I have a q for those who have done de ivf too please? Do you as the recipient have to be on meds etc as well as the donor? I've no idea how it would work as I don't have a regular cycle!

Marvellouslymadmum · 19/09/2023 16:35

@Kelb79 that's so great to hear it's all going well! Remind me where you went for your de again please? (I'm sure you've told me before) I'm trying to work out what it costs where but it's never easy to work out is it?!

TT82 · 19/09/2023 16:08

@Kelb79 thank you for your nice words! ❤️

Oh I thought majority will be abnormal...but not all 😔 I even hoped my husband would say then enough, so I won't hear one more time how bad they are and this feeling of failure 😞
But he wants to try more, so we are confident when we start discussing next steps
My worry is not what we feel to DE baby (we don't care about genetic), but what that baby feels once he/she finds out, and whether any bad feelings as one sibling will be both parents, but my daughter only mine.. I read some women share if there are already kids might be a problem..
from the other hand, my son and daughter treat themselves as full siblings not step, they have 13yr difference and love each other to pieces

But yes, I think after next cycle we need to consider next steps. Our dr not pushy to continue, DE not allowed in Switzerland, so she just asks if we ready mentally to continue and financially.

Happy your pregnancy goes well ❤️ when is due date?
