Her we are ladies!

OP posts:

I can see that, maybe I am just tight, was planning just to get a £60 Ikea cot and maybe a travel cot too. Something else to ponder over ...

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 11:06

But the cost would be taken up not having to buy a travel cot and moses basket, and/or crib. ( not that everyone has to buy those anyway) It is very portable by the sounds of it, and if it does last up to 12 months, which it looks big enough to, and you can get a heavy duty spring for heavier babies, it should last the 12 months, unlike many of the other things that say they last up to such and such an age but don't go anywhere near!

I think it is a good idea I was worried when I first saw it thinking of the baby trying to stand up in it and toppling it over, but it would be like an adult trying to stand up on a hammock, not possible!

Playingthewaitinggame · 21/02/2008 10:55

OOO, no I have as I don't have kids yet it does look interesting, I like the concept but no the cost! We've all spent ages talking about buggies, every single one of us is broody! Well for goodness sake I am not a mother (yet) and I am on MN!!

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 10:52

Heron, I have read good things about the Natures Nest thingymebob. Have never used one, but would like to this time. I've never really gone down the road of moses baskets and cribs, (we did use DS2's carry cot as a kind of moses basket though) but this time I think we will get a Natures Nest.

Playing,

Heron23 · 21/02/2008 10:22

I am so happy to read all your wonderful welcome!
DS is at nursery right now and i am sitting here checking out buggies, etc. Anyone used a nature's nest before? www.naturesnest.co.uk. Looks like a great sleeping hammock for a young baby

Playingthewaitinggame · 21/02/2008 10:12

obviously I meant sane not same!

Playingthewaitinggame · 21/02/2008 10:12

Hi All,

Welcome Heron, you are in just the right place if you can stand the maddness of this thread, right now though I think its the only thing that keeps me same . The perfect outlet for my baby realted obsession!

Natalie, you are at it like a rabbit at the moment woman, still its good practising! Sorry you DS is so poorly though .

Glad there is plenty of GOF going on, thats the spirit ladies, we'll have no lying back and thinking of England on this thread!

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 09:49

Heron23 · 21/02/2008 08:27

Hi All, i found this thread and it is just what i was looking for. DH and I have a 3 1/2 yr old DS. have decided to try for a 2nd one. i am 41 yrs old already so not so sure if it will work. anyway, started taking all vits a few weeks ago. and we agreed to ttc early may. the thing is, i am finding it harder and harder to wait! and my mind is consumed with nothing else! we want to wait a couple of months because i want to get a scan check up first with my gynae. had a tumuor with my last pregnancy that we did not know about. and it was horrendous as i ended up with getting it removed when i was 5 months pregnant. anyway, all good now. fingers crossed!

kayzisbroody · 21/02/2008 07:38

We'll def do it on Saturday though as I don't want to miss out on OV

Diege · 21/02/2008 07:34

Sounds like a plan!

kayzisbroody · 21/02/2008 07:30

We were planning on having the night off tomorrow, as we're trying those guidelines for having a girl. Probably wont work though.

Diege · 21/02/2008 07:28

Yes, you must def jump on dh, full moon or no full moon . Make sure you don't wear him out too much though if ov is at weekend ; in other words, if you are going to have a day off, it would be wise to take it tonight!

kayzisbroody · 21/02/2008 07:20

I cant remember, but I think its CD13 I know I should be OV Saturday.
Hey its a full moon tonight, do you think I can use that as an excuse to jump on dh???

Diege · 21/02/2008 07:17

Oooh Kay, remind me then about what day you're on?

kayzisbroody · 21/02/2008 07:12

Morning, The baby making did go well and so did my hair, luckily my mum is very good at dying my hair. I let dh do it once and it was horrible.
Have a good day.

Diege · 21/02/2008 07:05

Morning! Hope the baby making went well Kay, and glad your hair colour turned out well. I have had some terrible 'results' from home colouring over the years and even recall having to cut out parts of the bathroom mat at my parent's house to 'disguise' the spillage .
Operation Get Out Of The House will be commencing shortly, before the comparitively easy trip to work. Will catch up this afternoon - good days to all!

kayzisbroody · 20/02/2008 21:38

Hi all, back from mums with nice dyed hair!!
I'm going to do some more baby making tonight maybe it'll help my cold.
Have a good time Teuch.
I'm at work all day tomorrow so I'll pop on in the morning and at lunch time.
Bye!!

Teuch · 20/02/2008 21:23

HUllo all, just6 to say you will have to be in suspense re my pain and my symptoms, as I am heading to the bright lights for some family time and some retail therapy! Yaaaasss!!

Pain seems to have gone totally, and nothing else to report.

Y'all have a good week 'til I catch up on Tuesday!

Mwah!!

Diege · 20/02/2008 20:03

Hello! Another one hopelessly trying to catch up! Work super-busy today, so no chance to even lurk!
TEUCH, could this be ovulation pain (ie, egg releasing from one side? Or even implantation??) Apologies, I have lost track of everyone's cycle!
My colleague asked me today when I was hvaing my 4th (I had mentioned I wanted 4)...I was very non-commital (but thought of you lot!)but sort of muttered that I couldn't hang on too long being later 30s etc. Last thing I want it is to tell everyone at work about ttc (she says posting on a public forum ).
Right, off to watch the Brits .
Hopefully speak at some point tomorrow, although travelling again with work.
Night all!!

Starshinetiger · 20/02/2008 19:55

Looks like I have missed you all this evening - did try to catch up on the ca. 11 pages of posts since I was last on, but should really go and get my dinner !
D'ya think you could all ease off the chocolate talk - I've given it up for Lent to ease my weightloss (think it's working).
All the talk of buggies is getting me really broody....
I think I'm going to stick with one we have until LO is born then see if I get the joy of an excuse to buy a pink one! We had SIL's for DS, which was great not having to splash out and since, we've bought a McLaren Techno XT, which is fab, but I would definitely like to buy a new travel system that goes both ways for DC2 and love some of the ones you've all linked to.
Hope you all have a good evening and I will have to get on more regularly to catch up!
P.S. Teuch, glad pain is easing - we wait with baited breath...
I am just so ridiculously excited about anyone getting pregnant , my friend due April is coming over on Saturday and I know that's going to get me even more broody.

Playingthewaitinggame · 20/02/2008 18:30

Teuch, pain easing , must be a good thing

Right I am off home now, will chat to you all tomorrow. Have good evenings

Teuch · 20/02/2008 18:03

LOL Playing...with all the buggie/cot/etc chat on here of late, I think "buy" is a very appropriate slip!!

Pain seems to have eased...
