Hi everyone, welcome to those joining and hello again to my soul sisters from the December thread. I saddened to see you still, but happy to have company.

@Floralsandsmiles I have to say where this month we didn’t manage to do anything useful at the right time, the rest of the month has been a lot more relaxed. We needed to not think of talk about it for a while. Maybe you need a conscious ‘we’re not bothering this month’ month?

I forgot I had my ultrasound yesterday. She can see a ‘miniscule’ dermoid cyst on my remaining ovary, but I’m not concerned as I know these types don’t affect fertility, they grow incredibly slowly and I have had this said to me before but when it was looked in to by the surgeon it turned out to be scar tissue from a previous op. So, uncharacteristically, even that is not bothering me much!

We are also in the midst of moving house so that is helping, and it means that if and when we give up (I’ve set a limit of later this year as I am quite old 🫣) we will be in our big house and can look in to fostering/adoption.

and yes @Floralsandsmiles can definitely reuse holder. It zeroes itself again and will give you empty circle again whilst finding a baseline

All good too, but each month is getting harder and harder now.. I feel like I'm going to have to take a break soon.. 😪
In 5dpo today and to be honest feel bloated and have a mini break out on my face. I just think AF is coming and sad already! I only got to 6dpo last month before spotting (that's the earliest). So just feeling down in the dumps 😒 xxx

@Mummyme87 Thats what i thought at first but pregnancy tests BFN and premom has identified this as my real peak now. I thought it was odd i only hit 0.8 and it went back down again so soon last time! Looking at my OPKs i think this is really ovulation which is frustrating because we timed DTD quite well around my false peak! AH!!!

Hi ladies, can you use a CB ovulation stick holder for your next cycle, once you get a static smile? (I basically have loads of test sticks left and don't want to buy a whole new package, just for the holder) xx

Yes OPKs can get very dark if pregnant or if AF is coming. @CherryTreats23 folic acid wouldn’t cause delayed ovulation but maybe when you surged previously you didn’t actually ovulate so it’s trying again? Have you done another test today?

Another lady who had a very very similar line to mine tested her same pregnancy tests and confirmed its an evap or an indent. And then, after thinking i was 10DPO, i randomly took an OPK yesterday (CD22) and hit the highest peak i've had all cycle! So i hadn't even ovulated!!!!🤦🏽‍♀️ Ive been taking folic acid too, can it slow down cycles? Quite a late ovulation.

I dont know if i should laugh or cry as we only managed to DTD yesterday and DH is away this weekend!

I think like @Mummyme87 said earlier, the boots early tests seem to be good. Not as expensive as the brands but detects early and doesn’t have indents like first response.

Or I guess the alternative is to wait and keep on using the cheapies, they will eventually show a strong line.

@Bakingmom I recommend Boots early detection pink dye tests. Boxes of two on offer at the mo for £6. They’re fairly sensitive and seemingly don’t give indents

Which tests do you reccomend? I’m using cheapies because I don’t want to use too many and spend lots but desperate to see a clear BFP which according to the internet I am even with faint lines! Congrats to you @HavinKittens

I’ve found cheapies take sooo long to be positive for me.

I’m so keen to know if next baby is a boy or girl that I’m thinking of getting the harmony test at 10-12 weeks to find out early. DH thinks I’m ridiculous.

@Mummyme87 @HavinKittens I feel you. Two boys here I would live a girl but I feel like we can only make boys lol 😆 I do understand my BFF is pregnant and she's having her 4th girl. We always joke she has the girls and I have the boys but I'm a bit jealous lol maybe one day we will have our mini mes 🥰

I got boots ones, clear blue and cheapies. Had a v v v faint line on the boots one a couple of days ago but the cheapoes have been stark white. My youngest I got a very early positive with him about 7dpo but I'm gonna hold off and test on Monday and just have a quiet weekend.

Tested yesterday morning, really faint line on a cheapie, faint line on a clear blue yesterday afternoon. Tested again this morning on a cheapie, another faint line. AF is 3 days late!! But I feel like I don’t believe it until I see a really clear BFP! I’ve order some digital clear blue arriving Sunday, AF will be 5 days late by then so hopefully they will be BFP!! Anyone any stories of faint lines after missed AF and them turning BFP with stronger lines after a while? I just don’t know if I believe it as with my first I got strong lines

Ah @Mummyme87 I’m sorry, that’s crappy timing. It’s so tough. Early days yet, keep on swimming.

I’d love to have a little girl but definitely not getting my hopes up. I’ve told myself that DH can only make boys.

@ddaisynner so you don’t have a clear line, I hate frer for this, I’ve ditched them and gone to boots early tests.

8dpo and stupidly tested with a cheapie, don’t know why as was never going to get a BFP this early. Had a cry this morning and just cried again now as BFF just text to say she’s having a girl and it broke me. I’m so happy for her obvs but it’s just hit me hard

Well I’m assuming my luteal will be 14 days again so cycle would be down to 29 days instead of 35.

oh the other factor I didn’t mention is that I have cut down on breastfeeding my little boy but I had long cycles before I had him so it’s not all the bf

@HavinKittens that's good to know, how long does that make your cycles? Mine are already 31 days but LP is just 11 days. Don't know if I can deal with longer cycles 🤣 but if it can bring O forward I'll take that!!
