@buckingmad yeah I know I just think the d I did before ovulation May have been to far away

buckingmad · 19/04/2023 20:35

@Nmmck93 with my first pregnancy I waited till I was 16dpo to test.

i thought I’d be equally cool this time round but every month so far I’ve been peeing on sticks at 8dpo 😂

Nmmck93 · 19/04/2023 20:24

@buckingmad yay! Last month I was so patient with waiting to test but I can already tell once I fully enter my TWW I'm gunna be so egar to test as soon as I can, but I'll just need help to be talked out of it lol.
I go on holiday on May 14th and keep saying I would love my BFP before going so me and my partner could have a little 10 day bubble to ourselves lol. 🙈

buckingmad · 19/04/2023 20:22

@Nmmck93 ah we’ll have the same 2ww then! Someone to symptom spot with 😂

Mummyme87 · 19/04/2023 20:13

@Kirstyddd when I had my ectopic, we only DTD once after coming off the pill and swear it wasn’t my fertile week. Just takes once…. Which is bloody irritating when I’m still going 18months in this time but yeah.

Nmmck93 · 19/04/2023 20:02

@buckingmad I'm on the exact same as you, low yesterday and positive earlier to peak tonight but OH is away working tonight so we have tomorrow night, I haven't yet had any ovulation pains so hoping they don't come until we DTD tomorrow night.
Fingers crossed for us all 🥳

buckingmad · 19/04/2023 19:56

@Kirstyddd i conceived my first having only had sex twice that month and then with my miscarriage a couple of months back it was from one time! It only takes one go, just luck and timing!

I’ve gone from a low OPK yesterday to peak less than 24 hours later along with ovulation pains. We DTD last night and DH is away tonight. Will give it another go tomorrow.

TTCnumberfour · 19/04/2023 17:15

Please can I join? CD1 today. Praying for a 2024 baby. Not too hopeful as I’m 44 but fingers crossed 🤞🏻

HavinKittens · 19/04/2023 15:27

I’ve seen lots of people conceive having only DTD once! We caught in our first cycle having only DTD 3 days before ovulation. Don’t count yourself out just yet x

Kirstyddd · 19/04/2023 15:24

I’m on Dpo 5 and I feel like I’m out already,

i read up all about the times you should dtd and everything and I don’t think I was that far out but I also feel I didn’t do enough

Nmmck93 · 19/04/2023 15:13

Hey,
Sorry I've been so busy, moving house & working.
Fertile window has started and todays test is looking good despite Premom telling me it's low, I had to edit it when I uploaded as they had the T/C ratio so bad.
BD last night but don't get another chance until late tomorrow night so hopefully I'll still be covered for that!
It's just all so stressful trying to catch peak, DTD and hope the egg is released soon after peak! 🙈
Hope everyone is doing good!

@Mummyme87 another family with lots of January birthdays!

I also need to lose weight. Much easier said than done.

I used to always be on a diet but I haven’t since my last pregnancy. I still BF my 15mo old and would like to cut that down, partly for my own sanity but also have to admit I have concerns it’s messing with fertility (even though lots of BF resources say it doesn’t necessarily).

Mummyme87 · 19/04/2023 14:38

@HavinKittens I don’t share anything about my OPKs with OH either, he will definitely know though based on my keenness for sex!!

Mummyme87 · 19/04/2023 14:36

@MilkyAndFluffy my LP is 12days, ttc this time has been a struggle but previously had no issues. I also need to lose weight, I’m getting back on it after this week as it really does making conceiving easier and makes for a healthier and safer pregnancy.

I’ve just bought some more supplements for me and OH. Have been doing some reading around male fertility and their age which is eye opening, my OH is 45. I’ve found out how much coffee he drinks so will be discussing reducing this with him tonight! I take conceive plus, zinc, vit C, vit b complex, and OH takes pregnacare for men.
I've bought selenium and omega 3 with DHA for me and OH, and magnesium and Maca root for me. The maca root apparently helps boost progesterone

CD4, bleeding slowed down a lot today, feeling a lot better emotionally, I wasn’t planning to go in all guns blazing for a January baby as I already have one and I’m January also, but after the CP I’m 100% all in. Need to buy some OPKs again to start testing maybe Sunday. Hopefully ovulation isn’t delayed

Aquarius93 · 11/04/2023 17:32

Can I join please?

I posted a couple of times in the December thread but then stayed offline for a while as I was just fed up after having a weird cycle with very late ovulation.

CD2 for me today. Cycle 3 TTC baby #2. My daughters birthday is in January. I don’t really fancy another January birthday but that’s not going to put me off trying!

I’d like to join too.

We are on cycle 4 of TTC #2. Our first’s birthday is in Jan too, in fact we have two Jan birthdays in our family, so part of me wonders if we should take a break this cycle, but I don’t think my heart will let me! January will just have to be birthday month!

We sadly had a miscarriage in our first cycle back in Jan.

I am 14dpo today with BFN. Expecting period any moment. I am pleased that taking B6 has lengthened my short luteal, which was 12 days before.

I have long cycles, 35-6 days - so I’ve a while to wait until next ovulation.

I use easy@home ovulation tests but keep it all to myself as I don’t want to spoil the magic for DH. I’m sure he notices that I am a bit more keen to DTD at certain times though… ha!

Daniki · 19/04/2023 13:44

@buckingmad @Mushroo oh not just me then! I do be wrecked every evening as my son is going through the terrible twos and refusing sleep so it's really the last thing on my mind and defo hard to relax and enjoy it properly, I feel like I'd need to be on a weekend away! 😂

Mushroo · 19/04/2023 13:38

@Daniki i also find DTD a proper chore. We normally just DTD at the weekend, so when ovulation falls on Friday it’s a real effort!

Also I cant relax and enjoy it because very conscious of the need for DH to erm, finish in the right place!

Looking forward to the day we can have relaxed spontaneous sex again!

buckingmad · 19/04/2023 13:34

@Daniki I'll join you in the minority! Trying to get in a sexy mood after a day with a toddler and squeezing it in around nap times/bed time/ovulation is a literal nightmare.

Daniki · 19/04/2023 13:17

MilkyAndFluffy · 19/04/2023 10:20

I’m CD4 and onto my 9th cycle of TTC baby #1. Not gonna lie, it’s becoming really hard. I tried to stay off threads during last month, I’ve been very active previous months but not many people know we are trying to conceive in my life, and the ones who do are people who luckily fell pregnant straight away so they don’t understand how difficult it really is - I realised how much I needed you ladies for the support, having people in the same boat going through the motions. I really do need people who get it around me!

i appreciate there are many ladies who have been trying a hell of a lot longer than myself, and my heart screams out for you girls

does anyone have any tips at all what I can try this month? Does diet really help move things along? I could do with shifting 2 stone I would say to be a good healthy weight, but I read that losing weight can alter / affect your cycle and trying to conceive but I know staying overweight is no good either. I’ve been holding off putting my all into losing weight while trying to get pregnant but maybe it’s time to get my arse into gear…. Any opinions are welcome / needed!

I also have another question, I seem to have 12 day LP (between O time and AF arriving). Is that classed as short or normal? There is conflicting information on google 🥺

sending baby dust and luck to everyone

is anyone else around CD4? Xxxx

Hey! My doctor said to me also about losing weight it can defo help. Iv been a lot more active in the last 3 months and just joined a walking club so hoping it all helps!
Are you taking any multivitamins? Defo recommend one designed for conception and your folic acid.
It's such a stressful thing too, I tell pregnant easily for my two miscarriages but it took me a year to conceive my son 🤷‍♀️ duno if I'm the minority but I can't be arsed with all the sex 😂 will be good this month and dtd every second day 😂

Beth191 · 19/04/2023 12:51

@MilkyAndFluffy I lost a stone while TTC my first then another stone and a half in the first trimester! I don't know if it made any difference losing that stone or if it was just the time it always would have happened. I'd say try to eat healthily, not necessarily with weight loss in mind but just focusing on nourishing your body with what goes into it x

buckingmad · 19/04/2023 12:02

@MilkyAndFluffy a friend of ours tried for a while and then got pregnant after shifting a bit of weight, could have been a coincidence though!

Diet wise could you look at taking a multivitamin to get a head start?

It took us 12 months to conceive our first child so can sympathise! I'm on cycle 3 trying for baby 2 now (first month was a miscarriage).

Vil · 19/04/2023 11:19

No worries @MilkyAndFluffy and totally agreed, it used to annoy me when people told me to relax but now looking back I get it! We were mid house rennovation for the whole of 2021 and 2022 tbh so I think that affected it. Hard for me to say what else worked as we did IVF so not technically a natural conception!

Best of luck I stopped testing after cycle 9 as that gave me additonal anxiety I was missing things too!

MilkyAndFluffy · 19/04/2023 11:03

@Vil thanks so much lovely, wow 24 cycles you must have been going nuts by that point but I’m so so happy for you. Wishing you a happy & healthy pregnancy ❤️

thanks for the comments, it’s hard because the only stressful thing I can change in my life is obsessing over TTC, I need to find a way to chill out about it, but also track and plan DTD in (we aren’t a massively sexual couple naturally we DTD naturally once a week) so during the fertile period we have to make the effort to try and get 3 sessions in during that time so I do need to know when that is. I wish we could just roll with it and see what happens but there’s a chance we’d fully miss the fertile window completely! But I need to find the line between not obsessing I think!

the diet thing sounds to be a big part and my diet is crap tbh. I need to do better! Thanks for your help lovely

Vil · 19/04/2023 10:52

Thank you @jessie92

@MilkyAndFluffy totally understand, regardless of how long you have been trying this is super tough! So don't be hard on yourself, I found it tough from cycle 4! And cycle 24 was my successfuly one, each time I found it slightly easier!!

I think honestly and this is so easy to say I tried to relax a bit more and removed stressful elements from my life, I was generally in a bettwe place. I also moved to a plant based diet, I have no idea if that helped but it was recommended just generally to up my fibre and follow an anti-inflammation diet.

Wishing you all the best <3

lottieb92 · 19/04/2023 10:22

@BB2023 I struggled with the Clearblue advanced so I feel your pain: I preferred the other pink ones which pinpoint 2 days! Or better yet, my cheap ones and the app.
My easy at home didn’t give me a peak until nearly 3 days later than CB … so i ended up DTD waaaay more than I expected and clearly that didn’t work either 😀

I found it very confusing to get them at different times and I have so many left but I won’t be taking them this cycle - for my own sanity! X
