New thread for those of us now trying for the first babies of 2024, may we all be lucky this month!

I'm CD1 today of cycle 6 ttc my second.
Had a chemical at the end of February and lots of illness in March so revved up to give this month all I've got!

@Annie1295 I might try the digital at some point but with long unpredictable cycles it's hard to know when to test or it can get expensive! Fingers crossed for you this cycle!

Annie1295 · 29/09/2023 18:35

@Jess780 I used digital OPKs so that I can be sure there was a surge rather than guessing on the strips. They're quite expensive though

Great to hear things are slowly getting better for you and fingers crossed for this cycle!

Jess780 · 29/09/2023 15:43

@Annie1295 I think not temping would stress me more as I would be less sure of ovulation and when period is due but I totally get the obsessive checking! I've not been able to get a positive opk or notice fluid changes though.

Back on day 7, last cycle I started taking maca and vitex part way through and ovulated the earliest so far (still day 30!) And had a more normal length luteal phase (12 days instead of 9/10) so they seem to have worked! (Also maybe less stressed and another cycle post pill so could be a coincidence) Hoping that continues to improve this month. I've also ordered a fertilily after seeing a recommendation so will see how that goes!

Annie1295 · 28/09/2023 22:16

Just finished the three days in a row for smep and am absolutely knackered. Skipping a day now and then hopefully do one more time. I've given up temping for this cycle though as that just made me super obsessive during the tww reading into every small temperature rise. I think I ovulated today, had a positive opk on Tuesday so getting ready for the long tww

@moosey89 October will fly for ya then 😁 I lost my job in august, would like to start somewhere before I fall pregnant tho, wouldn't feel as guilty πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

moosey89 · 28/09/2023 13:58

@Daniki yeah would be great! October I'm super busy with work (I have a second job at weekends working on events) so I might miss most of my fertile window but at least it'll go fast!
Argh spotting is so frustrating! And I totally get the feeling of having wasted time. It's why I am so keen to get this appointment done with πŸ˜…

Daniki · 28/09/2023 13:54

@moosey89 feels like a long time but it will absolutely fly now until November! Be great tho if your app came before that 🀞🏻 all this waiting is so frustrating. It was a bittersweet result for me, glad there is something to work on but sad I feel like iv wasted the last year πŸ™ˆ can't understand how I fell pregnant so early twice last year!
And in true form, I'm 8dpo and noticed spotting when I went to the toilet πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

moosey89 · 28/09/2023 13:23

@Daniki Aah yes that makes more sense then if it's private! I've got a recurrent miscarriage clinic appointment end of November so I'm guessing that'll be the earliest I can get it through the NHS unless my fertility appointment magically appears before then!

Daniki · 28/09/2023 12:49

@moosey89 I actually ended up booking privately back in feb after my two miscarriages so I could get progesterone, but couldn't conceive since! Went back to her again 2 weeks ago and shes ordered all these tests etc, she's great! But if I was to wait public I'd need to wait until another miscarriage, the EPU won't prescribe anything and my GP not comfortable as he doesn't know enough! Its a minefield πŸ˜…

moosey89 · 28/09/2023 12:45

@Daniki ah you're so lucky! I have to wait until an appointment with a consultant to get a prescription to proactively take! I can only get one from EPU if I get pregnant currently 😞

Daniki · 28/09/2023 12:22

@Angelselevenx yep, she gave me the prescription last week incase I needed it then emailed me this morn with the results so I just picked it up in the pharmacy there as we're away for a few days from tomorrow so I want to be prepared! X

Angelselevenx · 28/09/2023 12:12

@Daniki did they give you letrozole to start straight away? I've got my CD25 test tomorrow (my ovulation is always later in my cycle, so mine are being done at weird times). Be interesting to see how mines looking!

Daniki · 28/09/2023 09:10

@moosey89 ok so got my results my progesterone is low, iv a prescription for letrozole iv to start next cycle. I'd say that means I'm out this cycle?! Suppose the miscarriages make sense now!! But wondering how I conceived my first pregnancy which was successful πŸ˜‚

Babyhopeful23 · 27/09/2023 18:37

Hi @Annie1295
I have just started into the TWW on a very hopeful month. I got my highest ever LH surge at 1.40. I’ve had day 5 bloods for hormone levels which all came back normal, I have repeats scheduled for Saturday. Lots of BD all right on time too so maybe this is our month. If not, at least I’ve had my referral for investigations and if I get a negative this month I’ll stop testing and trying too hard. We are heading on a holiday in 10 days which I think it’s needed!

How have you been?

moosey89 · 27/09/2023 18:19

@Daniki my results were on the app 48hrs later so fingers crossed!

Daniki · 27/09/2023 18:12

@moosey89 will do, hopefully not be waiting forever πŸ˜‚

moosey89 · 27/09/2023 17:35

@Daniki ooh let us know how you get on with your results!

Daniki · 27/09/2023 15:40

7dpo today, cracked and tested this morn of course negative πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ had 21 day progesterone test today so looking forward to getting the results back for that!

Annie1295 · 27/09/2023 14:33

How is everyone getting on?

Daniki · 15/09/2023 07:54

@LetsGo36 I'd defo advise a different brand, those particular tests are notorious for indent/evaps etc
The boots 5 day early response are great tests and pink dye which is better!

Annie1295 · 14/09/2023 19:34

@LetsGo36 thank you! Just gotta keep going.

Have you tested again? I really don't get the line tests, it's so confusing with evaporation lines and all that

LetsGo36 · 13/09/2023 12:39

@Jess780 I did another yesterday but again same thing, barely see a thing and then gets darker. So not too hopeful :(

@Annie1295 sorry to hear that. I really don’t understand it all. I just track it on Flo x

BBT dropped this morning so I'm definitely out for this month. Waiting for AF to start today or tomorrow. Going to try SMEP but without BBT this time and just use OPKs instead - the temping is just too confusing and obsessive

Jess780 · 12/09/2023 11:51

@LetsGo36 and @Rebeccaemily93 those both look positive to me! Have you taken again this morning?

NC has confirmed ovulation for day 27-31 which is actually my earliest yet after coming off the pill in December so I'm finally back in the two week wait, I think 29 is the most likely so currently 4dpo.
I
t's still long but I'm so pleased it's moved it the right direction as last cycles 52 days was the longest, so I'm keeping everything crossed it's now getting shorter.

L0uise35 · 11/09/2023 21:48

Ladies I would recommend using boots early detection tests and use clearblue to double confirm. Pink dye is more reliable but those tests do look positive
