New thread for those of us now trying for the first babies of 2024, may we all be lucky this month!

I'm CD1 today of cycle 6 ttc my second.
Had a chemical at the end of February and lots of illness in March so revved up to give this month all I've got!

Hi all can’t catch up as much as I’d like too, but settling into the TWW now and testing June 11th πŸ₯°

anyone else testing that time?

Kat4257 · 01/06/2023 11:20

Realised I just sort of creeped up on here and didn't do an intro... sorry!

I'm TTC no2, first cycle but looks like i won't be pregnant this month. My DD is 16 months but with her we never tracked ovulation or times sex or anything, just got pregnant on month 1 of trying after stopping contraception and "seeing how it goes". So I'm very much a newbie to the whole process but thank you so much everyone for answering my very basic little questions so far. Hopefully we'll all be chatting about our 2024 babies very soon, not the conception πŸ™πŸΌ

CatLadyH · 01/06/2023 10:56

@Silverpixieflorence I was in exactly the same boat using CB ovulation tests with a regular 28/29 day cycle. According to the test I didn’t ovulate until CD18. I was using Flo as well to track and it was saying I should ovulate earlier.

bringmearainbow · 01/06/2023 09:32

@Silverpixieflorence oh are you using clear blue? If you are you need to use first morning urine for those. You'll get back into the swing of it quickly

Silverpixieflorence · 01/06/2023 08:27

@bringmearainbow cycle is always 28 days. Oh see this is what I mean I've completely forgotten everything πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ on my flo app it says ovulation in 2 days so I thought I would at least have a smiley face today as I'm so regular. I'll test early evening tonight I think

bringmearainbow · 31/05/2023 20:30

@Silverpixieflorence could be a bit of both. How long are your cycles normally? A positive at CD11 would mean quite a short cycle. I usually do my opks about 6/7pm I have a super quick rise. it rises in the evening hits peak by about 10am the next day then by the evening it's dropped again so could be your rise is very quick if you didn't see one previously

Silverpixieflorence · 31/05/2023 20:27

@bringmearainbow I tested at 1pm today, maybe it needs to be later in the day or it's still too early in my cycle I'm not really sure

bringmearainbow · 31/05/2023 19:49

@Angelselevenx lol there's been a couple of times I've tested early when I expect it to be negative then wait it out I found it really hard πŸ˜‚

@Silverpixiebear keep testing hopefully you'll see one what time are you doing the opks?

Silverpixiebear · 31/05/2023 17:41

Hi hope it's ok to jump in 😊

TTC baby no.2, DD is 2.5 and started this month. Feel like I can't remember anything about trying for a baby even though it wasn't that long ago!

CD11 and negative ovulation test but I never had a positive one with my daughter. Hopefully will get a positive one in next couple of days πŸ€”

Angelselevenx · 31/05/2023 14:01

@bringmearainbow definitely the better part although it's dragging! I tested yesterday LOL which was obviously negative. Haven't bothered since not going to disappoint myself and just hold out for AF and see what my temp does, if it drops I know I'm out!

bringmearainbow · 31/05/2023 13:56

@Angelselevenx oooh 7dpo the better side of the tww πŸ™Š lp usually stays the same length I believe so I would go with Sunday if it was me. Are you holding out or testing early?

Angelselevenx · 31/05/2023 13:54

@bringmearainbow oh yes of course I remember you saying!

I'm 7dpo, O came a day early this month so if my luteal phase is also a day longer I'd be due AF Monday if not then I'm due on Sunday. Current temp but tbh this doesn't really tell me anything πŸ˜…

@Angelselevenx I use my watch for temping so I temped the whole way through as I wear it all the time I like to see how much sleep I get or don't get πŸ™Š. When I was using a thermometer I didn't bother temping past a BFP couldn't be bothered with the agro πŸ˜‚ ahh that's good I'm glad it's now back to normal I have heard it can be a bit whacky after a cp πŸ™„ where are you in your cycle?

Angelselevenx · 31/05/2023 13:49

@bringmearainbow glad the EPU were good for you, hopefully you can get some answers after your tests. Did you temp the whole way through or did you stop for a little while?

My cycle was a bit out of whack after my CP but seems to have gone back to normal now 2nd month after!

bringmearainbow · 31/05/2023 13:47

@Angelselevenx hey lovely I'm ok have better days than others this one really hit me hard I was convinced at the BFP it would be fine. The EPU were great at monitoring me though so at least I found out earlyish. I'm hoping my cycle comes back quicker than the last 2 🀞🏼 my temp has already dropped so that's a good sign than I've had previously πŸ˜‚

bringmearainbow · 31/05/2023 13:43

@Savvy21 I've read it starts with an egg which was a interesting read. I had my thyroid checked in early pregnancy as part of a full blood test the gp did for dizziness and my results since the MC are looking like I'm hypothyroid which could be an explanation for me but I will wait and see what the gynae thinks before I diagnose myself πŸ˜‚ she might run other tests and find something else amiss. Tbh now we've had the third I really wish I had got checked after the 2nd I know hindsight is great but I can't help thinking if only esp as I knew if we had another I would go privately for testing. The doctor I spoke to about my thyroid said sometimes pregnancy or miscarriage can put it out of whack so you can have a healthy pregnancy then have problems after. If you went private I think some of the blood tests they run are not very expensive at all πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ I'll let you know what tests she wants to run when I see her Friday

Angelselevenx · 31/05/2023 13:31

@bringmearainbow sorry to see you're back on here lovely, hope you're doing okay xx

Savvy21 · 31/05/2023 13:30

@bringmearainbow oh no so sorry to hear this. I've also had two miscarriages and had my first DD no problem. Maybe I should go and see someone privately. Let us know how you get on. Have you read miscarriage what every woman needs to know? It was recommended to me by someone who also suffered 2 miscarriages before having a successful pregnancy the third time. So there definitely is hope.

Daniki · 31/05/2023 11:11

bringmearainbow · 31/05/2023 11:08

@Daniki thanks lovely it is ridiculous! We've gone private I think the wait on the nhs is something like 6 months πŸ™„ tbh I wish we had done it after the 2nd one but in my head I was like it's just bad luck the third will be fine πŸ™ˆ especially as we already have a DS and we had no problems with him πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Very tough! I paid privately after the second one just because I couldn't bare it to happen again and I have a prescription for aspirin, progesterone and steroids to start as soon as I find out I'm pregnant again so hopefully you will get the same? Maybe not the steroids it's not the norm but iv Crohn's disease as I was on steroids and another med when I was pregnant with my first so possibly the reason I held on to that one!

It's a feckn minefield! Hope you're doing ok πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Hi everyone I'm back and just placemarking. We lost another a couple of weeks ago I'm off to see the gynae on Friday for the recurrent miscarriages this will have been our third consecutive mc in the past year it's been an emotional time. Hopefully we can get some answers and a fix and start TTC again soon 🀞🏼

Ah no I'm so sorry! Glad you're getting to speak to a gynaecologist over it, I personally think the 3 miscarriages rule is ridiculous, 2 in a row is not the likely so not sure why it can't be then 😫

@Daniki @Savvy21 @Bluebell0921

thank you ❀️ It is an awful time. We are not giving up hope though. Still hopeful for a 2024 baby for all of us xx

Bluebell0921 · 30/05/2023 17:58

@LetsGo36 so sorry to hear about your news. Sending you lots of love πŸ’–

Kat4257 · 30/05/2023 17:15

I’m a little confused - clearblue sells the early result pregnancy test and the pack states that in 78% cases it’ll detect a pregnancy 6 days before missed period / 5 days before period is due. Assuming 28 day cycles that’s about 9dpo (9+5=14).
Everything I read on mumsnet and most things online generally say that 9dpo you’re highly unlikely to get a positive result. Am I misunderstanding something?

sorry I’m a bit of a newbie, I have one baby girl but conceived her when we weren’t trying or calculating ovulation, just stopped using protection straight so she wasn’t a complete surprise but also I’m new to measuring cycles and calculating dpo
