Ferti lily cup

Hey guy,
I am just wondering if anyone has used the ferti lily conception cup.
I used this once cycle over a year ago and now have a 15 month old son. I then feel pregnant after 2month TTC.
This is my first month ttc back again.

I have used the ferti lily cup again but cannot remember last time if there was any leakage of semen/sperm? I feel like there may have been some leakage but not a great amount. I did have a vaginal birth with my son and he is my first birth.

The reason I tried the ferti lily cup was I felt that all my hubby semen was leaking out of me when we dtd. Does anyone else experience this or am I just going mad. I do feel extremely wet (apologise). This is the reason why I purchase the cup.

Please if anyone can share there experience it would be amazing.

@Rayofsunshine22 thank you, good luck to you too 😊

Rayofsunshine22 · 05/05/2023 06:55

@Jennifer89 thank you I'll keep those in mind if I don't manage to get on with the cup! Good luck for you next week 🤞

Alloveragain3 · 05/05/2023 00:18

I tried this for a few cycles but didn't like it and found it sore to remove.

I also worried about leakage but there was always lots of sperm in there when I took it out.

I did fall pregnant a few months after I stopped using it!

@Rayofsunshine22 It is worth giving it another try. They aren't cheap so seems a shame for them to go to waste..
I just struggled with it for some reason.
The brand I purchased from Amazon is called softdisc, they are disposable and meant to be pretty easy to insert/remove.
@Sierra26 good luck for next time! It's ovulation time next week for me so fingers crossed..

Rayofsunshine22 · 04/05/2023 21:31

@Jennifer89 how are the soft cups different? Which do you think you'll try? Yeah I just felt the it was maybe on a side + not in straight?? God knows. But I'll keep trying. @Sierra26 sorry it wasn't your month :( hang on in there & stay positive Xx

Sierra26 · 04/05/2023 20:01

Aw sorry you have both struggled! I think I did it right but it didn’t work 🤷🏻‍♀️🙁 I’m on to next cycle and planning to keep using it though, as I assume it can only help! Xx

Jennifer89 · 04/05/2023 18:05

@Rayofsunshine22 I tried to use it last cycle and wasn't too keen. Found it hard to insert and not sure I even did it properly. It felt uncomfortable so gave up and removed it soon after inserting it.
This month I will be trying the soft cups instead. They are meant to be better than menstrual cups as closer to cervix.

Rayofsunshine22 · 04/05/2023 00:25

Hi all how is everyone? I used the Fertility cup for the first time. I really don't think Ive done it right but I think it's a practice thing. I found it hard to get it to turn back into the cup shape & then it came back down loads! Hopefully I'll get better at it & hopefully not need it for too many more months. Hope all doing okay X

Rayofsunshine22 · 17/04/2023 17:16

Hi @Amyjones86 150mg of aspirin ? Every day or just certain times in the cycle? X

AnuSTart · 17/04/2023 14:30

Sorry for typos

AnuSTart · 17/04/2023 14:29

I thought I'd post1 not used the cup- but biologically the cervix lowers and sips into the semen deposited there when the woman comes. I don't come during penetration so I, on my back after, masturbated to ensure that my cervix lengthened and do its job. If you don't come during the act it is worth bearing this in mind otherwise you are only doing 50% of the job so to speak to get the semen reserves into your uterus.

kalixxx · 17/04/2023 14:25

This is my second cycle using it and hoping the last 😅😂

Do you all find there’s a lot left in the cup when you take it out?

Amyjones86 · 17/04/2023 13:00

Hi @Rayofsunshine22 I take 150mg every day all throughout the cycle and everyday now I am 13 weeks. Good luck! X

Sierra26 · 17/04/2023 06:54

I kept mine in overnight the second time we used it 🤷🏻‍♀️ didn’t have any issues

but yes the instructions do say not to!

NegativeNelly · 17/04/2023 06:45

Hi been TCC for 6 months now I had no idea this cup was a thing!! I'm going to give it a go

Rayofsunshine22 · 17/04/2023 06:38

@lottieb92 sorry it wasn't your month this time. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞
Thanks for the advice @fairgame84 I defo won't keep it in longer than an hour. I'll have to set an alarm!

fairgame84 · 17/04/2023 05:55

Don't sleep with it in for 2 reasons.

  1. It suction itself tight in there and it's really hard to get out.
  2. I got BV when I left it in overnight. BV can make it hard to conceive and it also delayed my hsg test.
lottieb92 · 16/04/2023 23:28

@Rayofsunshine22 I know people who sleep with moon cups in! But the ferti Lily instructions say 20mins-1 hour.

I fell asleep … not sure how long for, but I whipped it out as soon as I realised and woke up maybe 1/2hrs later 🤡🙈

sadly it didn’t work for us this month, but I am much more confident using it going into this month! Good luck x

Rayofsunshine22 · 16/04/2023 22:17

@Sierra26 👍👍 the things we do 🤣 thank you I'm excited & nervous to try it out. Have you slept with it in? Can you do that? We always DTD late at night. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞

Sierra26 · 16/04/2023 21:30

@Rayofsunshine22 yep just lay flat with my knees bent up. The second time though I wasn’t sure if it was in right so went to the bathroom and tried to reposition it sat on the loo, didn’t work well so I ended up lying on the bathroom floor and sorted it 😂

it kind of scoops everything up there as it goes in so not too much escaped

Rayofsunshine22 · 16/04/2023 20:59

@Sierra26 thank you for that. I was going to ask if much of the stem is left once it's in. Yes I think I have a tilted cervix when I have smear tests they get me to put my hands under my bum to tilt. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it. How do you lay when inserting it? Just on your back /legs up? God I can imagine loads escaping when trying to insert it!

I will have a practice before my fertile week for sure. I will let you know 👍🤞

Sierra26 · 16/04/2023 20:43

@Rayofsunshine22 basically keep pushing until it doesn’t go any further!! 😆 flip it like an upside down umbrella and push it all the way up. it’s gonna slide around A LOT but try keep it in that shape. Then once you think it’s all the way in, keep a bit of pressure on the cup and pull the stem so it pops back in to a cup shape. Mine sucks up a bit further when I do that bit and seems to find the right place to rest.

That all said, I’ve only used it twice so who knows if I’m doing it right!!

I have a high cervix so the stem is basically disappeared once it’s all the way in for me. A bit disconcerting at first but I know now I can get it out with a bit of bearing down and gentle pulling/hooking

let us know how you get on!

Rayofsunshine22 · 16/04/2023 15:54

I've ordered a cheap 'cup' off eBay which looks identical to the Fertilily branded one. I presume it won't come with any instructions etc so can I ask ... How do you know when it's in /up right/far enough? I'm seriously rubbish at this stuff.
Thanks in advance.

Rayofsunshine22 · 14/04/2023 23:18

Thank you yes I agree its worth a shot like everything else 👍🤞 fingers crossed for you 🤞

Sierra26 · 14/04/2023 22:30

@Amyjones86 thanks for sharing that!

@Rayofsunshine22 I think aspirin has quite an immediate effect so I’m taking it from today 3DPO for the next week probs to cover the potential implantation period. I don’t think any need to take outside of that window. I have 75mg tablets (“baby aspirin” ironically) but might take two to up it to 150mg as @Amyjones86 consultant recommended! Can’t do any harm xx
