Hoping we all get BFP and sticky babies in this months cycle.

Its CD 1 for me on my 2nd cycle TTC, and it will be my first month tracking OPKs. So I need loads of tips on when to begin and how to track.

Heh everyone. I need someone to tell me if I’m losing it. I had a normal period albeit was particularly painful and lasted normal time. I took a tonne of tests before my period and all negative. I realised last night I have been feeling very tired and my boobs are sore, I’ve also had nausea.
I know it seems impossible but I took a test midday to rule it out and I’m going to presume I got an evap line?

I’ll retest in the AM again with FMU. It is surely impossible? I’ve had a lot of cramping since my period and thought I’d a UTI but no

@buckingmad bless you having to go to the maternity ward when you have a miscarriage is one of the cruellest things I think. I had Mcs before my DD so most of my memories at the hospital are trumatic so its kind of the other way around for me in that I expect it to be bad news now! I'm finding there's a bit less pressure this time around as Im not worrying that I will NEVER have children in the same way I was with my first, but then I am feeling the time pressure of being older and I totally thought I would be preggos by now (why dont I ever learn). Its such a difficult process.

buckingmad · 20/04/2023 11:33

@TunnocksTCake I've personally found it all a lot more stressful the second time round plus when I had my miscarriage a couple of months ago I found the most upsetting part going into hospital and remembering the excitement and happiness of being there with my first. The only upside is I imagine subsequent pregnancies go by so quickly as you're so busy with a toddler! I found my pregnancy really dragged first time round.

Desperately want to fall pregnant but at the same time I know I'm going to a big ball of anxiety!

TunnocksTCake · 20/04/2023 11:25

@buckingmad toddlers do make the whole thing a lot more difficult dont they? Mine is actually quite a good sleeper but shes noisy so wakes me up! Im awful at temping this time round but make an effort to do it over fertile window just to see the rise. I also thought I would be chilled this time round but its not much different.

buckingmad · 19/04/2023 09:54

@miniworry 12 months! Looking back I think I just didn't really understand my cycles and didn't time DTD quite right. I said this time round I would be chill, that lasted about a day.

miniworry · 19/04/2023 09:51

@buckingmad we are on holiday at the mo which I guess has helped but I can't think of anything worse than doing it again until I get a temp spike! 😆

How long did it take you to conceive last time? With our first I fell pregnant by accident so all of this temping/testing etc is new to me and I'm struggling to not get obsessed by it!!

buckingmad · 19/04/2023 09:36

@miniworry hats off to you, we've done it once so far this cycle and should probably do it again once DH is back but I don't have the energy 😂trying to schedule DTD around a toddler, ovulation and DH being away with work is too much 😂

I've only just started temping but did it with my first baby a lot and by the end I stopped looking for things like surges and just looked at the month as a whole. I relied more on the opks and my CM and the temp chart was just an added extra. My chart this time round is definitely taken with a pinch of salt, I think you're supposed to have had a good chunk of sleep before doing it and with a toddler, chunks of sleep are a thing of the past🙄

miniworry · 19/04/2023 07:06

Sorry to hear it's so stressful! My cycles are usually 27-29 days and I've still not got my BBT rise even though I had the OPK surge and my boobs are sore like after I've ovulated!

We are on day 6 of BD in a row and I'm knackered! 😩

buckingmad · 19/04/2023 07:02

@miniworry 32-35 days so this isn’t unusual for me. I usually ovulate cd18ish. I had a miscarriage 2 cycles ago and my last one I tried to ovulate normal time and then actually ovulated a week later so I’ll keep temping and see if I get a rise.

miniworry · 19/04/2023 06:57

@buckingmad how long are your cycles normally?

buckingmad · 19/04/2023 06:52

I’ve not had a surge or even a particularly high OPK yet (cd19) but had some EWCM yesterday so DTD just in case as OH is away with work tonight.

miniworry · 18/04/2023 15:39

@TunnocksTCake oh wow I didn't know that this could be a thing! I haven't OPK tested since the surge 3 days ago now so I'll start again today. Strangely my boobs are feeling heavy like they do once I've ovulated!

TunnocksTCake · 18/04/2023 15:11

@miniworry keep doing OPKs, I had 2 surges last month and temp rose after the second one Was a fluke and never happened before but it could be possible especially if you have been extra stressed/ ill this month.

Gingham17 · 18/04/2023 10:27

@miniworry Oh I’ve only been tracking using the OPK, maybe I should try looking at my BBT too. I’m 6 DPO now, this TTW is hard, I’m hoping this is our month but I’d be more shocked to see 2 lines than not. I had a dream that it was positive and it felt so real!

miniworry · 18/04/2023 02:47

So I had my positive OPK 2 days ago and I'm tracking my BBT and still no temp rise yet 😩 so looks like I'm not ovulating this month as everything I've read says max 48 hours between LH surge and ovulation.

Gingham17 · 12/04/2023 21:42

Hello there,
I haven’t posted here before so this is a first for me. I’m 29 and ttc for our first baby. I’m currently on cycle day 14 and I got a positive opk on days 12 and 13. My sister is pregnant and I’d love for our little ones to grow up close in age. It’s really hard not to obsess isn’t it! I tried last month without any tracking but found it more stressful not knowing. Fingers crossed🤞

Mauhea · 12/04/2023 09:56

Very much out. AF started 5 days early on Monday evening. Had a moment of wondering 'is this what implantation bleeding looks like' but it is very much not that 😅Was feeling weirdly optimistic this month so kinda bummed that I've crashed out so early. On to the next cycle!

Yellowgoldsunshine · 11/04/2023 21:26

Hi! I hope that you don't mind me joining. I am going into cycle 4 of ttc number 1. I know that four months is no time at all in terms of ttc and that I am being ridiculous but I can't help but overthink everything and I can't take my mind off ttc no matter how hard I try! I have found that work and going to exercise classes helps me a little bit but it's always at the back of my mind. I am also getting so many doubts and what if's in my head. I also keep comparing myself to others who fall quickly which is so silly and am already worrying that there might be something wrong with me, even though I haven't even been trying that long and it's normal for it to take a year! I know I am being ridiculous and I really want to forget about ttc and just try and enjoy my life. Would anyone have any advice or tips? thank you so much :)

Thanks so much for clearing that up @Floralsandsmiles .. we are trying the SMEP and it says to BD on day 8 (which was yesterday) and then every other day until +OPK, so am I right in saying the flashy smiley doesn't account for a +OPK until it's a static smiley?

Yes that's right hun. The reason for the flashing smile is your fertile window is longer when you include the estrogen surge too. The important one is the +OPK/static smile/LH rise, ovulation is 12-24 hours after that xxx

I'm so confused, I've had a flashy smiley face in the CB ovulation tests today which according to the instructions means I am fertile yet the strip OPKS are still saying low and .2 does seem really low- anyone had this before?!

Hi @miniworry 👋
The flashing smile is for estrogen surge (normally right before LH surge). The static smile is your peak and when you will see the strip tests rise xxx
