Have been TTC for 6 months so not that long at all compared to others. Looking at the stats - apparently 50% of women at 44 get pregnant within one year. I'm not sure if the stats help or not!?!
But I am feeling I should be more realistic in that, at my age, it just may never happen again..

Got preg with my DD in the first cycle at 39, but realise now I was probably just very very lucky! No history of issues, and relatively healthy and fit, but my age is my age..no skirting round that!
periods still incredibly regular.

Every month I symptom spot like crazy - convince myself this is the month (sore boobs, cramps, white CM, moody), then AF arrives..

This month though, we DTD only 2 days before ov (too tired and stressed for more than that!) so it's probably very unlikely, but I do have far less symptoms, just feel achingly tired and a bit sick. 2 days till AF is due...
Keeping everything crossed!

Does anyone else have any experiences or stories about getting preg in your 40s?

I’m 43 in July and I’ve got pregnant twice in the past twelve months. First was a MMC and second ended at 12 weeks with a TFMR after a positive screening for trisomy 21. I’m hopeful that the next one will be the lucky egg.

Thanks too for your reply Whatames that's wonderful to read! Will keep the glimmer of hope alive - you and others are testament that it can happen, but may just take a little longer than last time...

Hi. I’ve just had a baby at 43. It’s my fourth and I had got pregnant very quickly with the other three in thr first month of trying. Started ttc at 40 for over a year and didn’t happen. Was happy with my lot and thought I’d missed the boat. Didn’t use precautions and still no pregnancy so thought fertility had dropped off a cliff. Completely given up as period becoming lighter and closer. At 42 unexpectedly got a positive pregnancy test and she is now here and perfect. My midwife told me that as long as you are having periods it’s possible. My personal experience is that it is possible but much harder after 40. Good luck 🤞

A friend of mine had her first successful natural pregnancy at 44, so it's definitely possible. Good luck OP
