@allgoodthings84 looks lovely, what colour did you go for? we’ve went for the Egg2 in mink 😍 having the complete travel system so including the matching shell car seat which I’m buzzing for. We will wait a few weeks before ordering anything. Don’t want to jump the gun. Which next to me bed are you going for? I looked at the Chicco one 😍 .. how is your daughter ? is she excited? have you got much of a bump?

@NSx that’s fantastic things are going well for you! I’m so pleased to hear it. We have ordered the cybex balios s lux 8 piece travel system with the cybex cloud z2 car seat option as it lays flatter so safer for them to be in it longer. What have you chosen? We didn’t buy anything until after our 20 week scan yesterday morning. We went to the baby shop yesterday afternoon to order as we had already chosen just wanted to try it out etc and didn’t want to buy anything until all confirmed ok.

NSx · 14/04/2023 20:34

@allgoodthings84 so I went for a scan last Saturday as we wanted to tell our parents during Easter, but my official 12 week scan is Wednesday when I’ll be 13 weeks.
we had our NIPT a results back too- all low risk which was a huge relief 💕💕💕
ahhh congratulations that’s wonderful, a gorgeous baby girl. It seems she is a stubborn girl not wanting to play ball at your scan, I know this can be quite normal for babies 🤍
what travel system have you picked ? ive chosen mine already, my in laws are buying it for us which is nice 🧡 we won’t buy anything until we’re a bit further along really.
how are you feeling about your section? did u have a section with your first ? Xx

allgoodthings84 · 14/04/2023 20:22

Hi @NSx how are you and baby doing? You must be getting close to your 12 week scan?

I had my 20 weeks scan yesterday at 20+5 weeks. Everything is looking good and was confirmed to be a girl. Had to go out and back twice as she wasn’t playing ball but got all of the checks done in the end after 1.5 hours! Had to go out to walk and jump around while they scanned someone else. Then had to go out again to eat a mars bar and drink some cold water while someone else got scanned again 😂. She was kicking plenty but not showing her face properly to check the lips properly! Luckily managed to get it all in the end.

Got my consultant appointment Monday to go over what happened in my daughters birth and confirming a planned c section this time round.

Ordered the travel system and next to me bed yesterday and it’s suddenly all feeling more real. I can also feel her more now which is very reassuring.

NSx · 14/04/2023 19:35

Hello ladies how are you all? Just checking in.. 🤍
@allgoodthings84 @NatGee @HoneyPea

NSx · 20/03/2023 13:10

@HoneyPea so when I went to fetal medicine for my 8 wk reassurance scan, they offered me NIPT, CVS and Amnio, but I said I would do NIPT and then take it from there- hoping to not need any further testing but we will see 💜

@allgoodthings84 i think 2 girls sharing is lovely plus the baby will be in with you at the start anyways 💓 defo one less thing to think about.
I will hold off buying until I know everything is ok 💕

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 20/03/2023 13:02

@NatGee I had the spotting for 5 days! It was brown within my discharge and just stopped and nothing since. I was so worried but the midwife wasn’t and all was fine when I got as checked (13+3 weeks) then all fine yesterday (17+1 weeks). I think if it’s brown and doesn’t change to red it’s old blood and ok. The midwife didn’t even want me to get checked as she was so sure it was fine but my GP was a bit more cautious because of the losses before. Any blood is scary I know how you must have felt when first seeing it.

@NSx I haven’t bought anything either. Don’t think I will until after my 20 weeks scan and even then won’t be right away. I’ve got no spare room for a nursery either so will be no nursery until we get a new house once I go back to work after maternity. Guess that’s one less thing to think about 😂

My daughter has requested to share a room with the baby for a few years bless her and now we know it’s a girl that will be fine. She will be 8 when the baby is born so if it was a boy I wouldn’t have them sharing

HoneyPea · 20/03/2023 12:23

@NSx We didn't find out before but think we will this time just so we can tell our little boy as he is 3 and keeps asking. Even through he says he doesn't mind which but would like both (not happening!!!) I got given the NIPT on NHS at 10 wks because of what happened in my last pregnancy but they didn't mention anything about cvs or Amnio.
@NatGee Glad it's not as bad today. I actually suffer from rosacea and usually use a steroid cream but I haven't used it for about 18months as I've been pregnant on and off during that time (about 13/18) so it's got pretty bad 😕

NSx · 20/03/2023 10:40

@HoneyPea you might see more on your next scan 🤍🤞

@NatGee no we don’t want to find out, as long as the baby is healthy we don’t mind. Yes our nursery will be all neutrals and beiges which is fine 💕
no so what happened was when my bloods got taken I had low pap a and that was the first indicator my NT was absolutely fine, but then on the 12 week scan the shape of the head was off, so again there were signs, then I was offered to have CVS or wait for Amnio, decided on the amnio.
I’m not buying anything at all. As I don’t want to jinx myself x

OP posts:
NatGee · 20/03/2023 10:16

@allgoodthings84 ahhh congratulations on your second girl!! how exciting, i hope you are both happy or did your DP secretly hope for a boy? I know nothing about nub theory, not even sure if I will get to the point of guessing as I intend on just getting a blood test and finding out.

@NSx you don't want to find out what you're having? I suppose youll be kitting the nursery in lots of neutral colours then (my favourite!). I already bought a newborn bundle, all white. Early i know but it was a real bargain. I won't be buying anything else for a good few weeks though
About the amnio - that seems so sensible, leaving it as a last resort. hopefully the nipt will give you all the information you need ie no risk factors this time. Did you have a nipt last time or was it a nuchal and then straight into an amnio?

omg @HoneyPea yeah that would scare me, as it likely did you. but if nothing was found and baby is fine, that's all that matters. hope your skin clears up, are you applying anything on it to help calm it down? I suffer from adult acne but my skin has been really clear so far which is unusual.

Thank you you three for helping to put my mind at ease about the spotting I had. There was a tiny bit more this morning, but a lot less than yesterday. I read coffee ground like spotting (which is what I had) is normal.

HoneyPea · 20/03/2023 08:38

@NSx Thanks found it on my other scans but really don't think it can be seen on this one. Will have to wait and see!

allgoodthings84 · 19/03/2023 21:24

My skin is completely clear and was with my daughter too. Then again I very rarely get spots so I wouldn’t take that as anything for me.

NSx · 19/03/2023 21:10

Nub theory

try clicking on that. That might explain things better @HoneyPea

OP posts:
HoneyPea · 19/03/2023 19:41

@NSx I don't think you can see the nub on my 12wk scan but not really sure what I'm looking for!

NSx · 19/03/2023 19:17

@allgoodthings84 I successfully guessed my 2 best friends pregnancies with the nub theory so who knows 😂😅

@HoneyPea my skin was a mess last year with my girl and it’s exactly the same now so that’s why I’m guessing girl, could be absolutely wrong though 😂😂😂

OP posts:
HoneyPea · 19/03/2023 18:07

@NatGee All good here. 15weeks yesterday and haven't had any bleeding for 3weeks 😊 I've heard brown blood is fine as it's old blood. Mine was a big red bleed and then light pink when wiping for a week or so.
@allgoodthings84 A little girl, very exciting 💗
@NSx Ive had experience of carrying both and I have no idea what this baby is. I was very sick (multiple times a day) with our son and not so much with our little girl (just felt sick) This time I've felt sick and been sick a few times so 🤷‍♀️ My skin has been terrible this time, can't remember what it was like before.

allgoodthings84 · 19/03/2023 17:10

@NSx the couple of the nub theory expert Facebook pages all said I was having a boy from the nub theory but they were wrong. The sonographer today said the nub theory is definitely just a theory that has a lot of holes.

NSx · 19/03/2023 16:07

@NatGee I’m so sorry to hear about your mother, a doula does seem wonderful in that case 🤍 ..
yes I was offered a few different things but I don’t want to risk a miscarriage doing something invasive if there are no worrying signs. I had an amnio last time and didn’t miscarry so I do know it can be safe, but there were reasons why I had it last time as things were picked up with bloods and scans. So I would rather wait and see what my bloods/12 week scan and NIPT say before having anything risky. I’m hoping and praying Lightning doesn’t strike twice and everything is ok this time around 🤞 .. I’ll be 9 weeks on Tuesday and to be honest I’ve spent the last 2 days in bed. I went out to a concert on Friday and honestly I haven’t recovered 😂😅 .. they say when the placenta kicks in things get better, but I’m a few weeks away from that yet - the nausea is horrendous - I’ve only been physically sick 3 times so far.
I don’t know about spotting as I’ve not had any myself however I’ve read many ladies get it and it’s all ok, so try not to worry

@allgoodthings84 awww congratulations 💕💞💓 a baby girl! How lovely, a sister for your daughter.
im convinced I’m having a girl as my skin has been awful again, however I will know more at my 12 week scan, we’re not finding out though but will hazard a guess at the nub theory too 🤍

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 19/03/2023 14:56

@NSx @NatGee I’m all good. Just got back from my scan and it’s a healthy looking little GIRL! I’m in shock as every nub theory group all said boy. I thought it looked like a girl on nub but everyone convinced me boy. It’s definitely a girl 😂

@NatGee I had brown spotting at 13.5 weeks and all was fine. Midwife wasn’t even concerned but I got my GP to refer me to EPU as midwives wouldn’t because of my history. All was fine though

NatGee · 19/03/2023 14:41

@allgoodthings84 Sunday as in today sunday? If so, are you having a boy or a girl? Very exciting indeed :) you're so close to the 20 week mark that to be fair it could well be your baby. I'm sure these milestones are simple guidelines all babies are so different. It's been a while since your last but can you remember whether the symptoms you're having now are different from your first?

@NSx good luck with the NIPT, makes sense for it to be recommended. Ill definitely ask for one at my booking appointment or pay for one. Yeah my scan is booked for the 26th April and I'll be just shy of 12 weeks. Doulas are there to provide emotional and mental support, during pregnancy, labour and post labour. They are experienced and could be medically trained (former nurses or midwives for example) but aren't there to provide medical support. My mother's no longer with us so I thought itd be good for my DH and I to have someone with experience to help us navigate this phase of our lives. My nausea has begun and it's so debilitating. Yesterday was bad, today not so much. How about you? Are those days now mostly behind you? They say they get worse at 9 weeks or so...

Actually now that I'm here, I woke up to some brown spotting when I wiped. There hasn't been anymore since and I have no pain or cramps. Should I be worried or can it be normal?

NSx · 19/03/2023 08:35

@NatGee hi 🤍 sorry been a wild couple days…
So yea it was lovely to see the little bean, we won’t see them again now until our 12 week scan which is more like 13 weeks as it’s on 19/04 so an age away!
We’re having the NIPT on the NHS as I had a baby last year with a chromosomal issue. They actually offered the CVS and Amnio too but I want to start with something less evasive. The only diff is that the NHS NIPT doesn’t tell you the gender, but we don’t want to know anyway, so it’s fine. Doing the NIPT on the 28th along with my booking appt, so something to break things up a bit until next month.
I have heard a few people mention Doula’s what is it they do? did they give you a date for your scan already? 🤍 how exciting. Any more new symptoms?

@allgoodthings84 for me it seems like time is moving so slowly 😂 but I’m trying to keep myself busy more than anything. How are u doing?

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 17/03/2023 17:29

@NSx thats great news the scan went so well and over 8 weeks already! Won’t be long until your 12 week scan!

@NatGee yea I’m really glad my nausea doesn’t last all of my pregnancies. It ended similar kind of time with my daughter too. I still get the odd bout of nausea but not every day even let alone constantly like it was. I’ve got a private gender scan booked for Sunday. I’m excited and scared all at once. I’ll be 17 weeks tomorrow. I think I’ve felt light movements in last few days but not entirely sure. I’ve got an anterior placenta again so it’s really gentle and not very often. I know it’s not gas as doesn’t feel like that but it’s not strong enough or regular enough yet for me to be like yep that’s baby. It’s been more than 8 years since I was this stage with my daughter so I can’t really remember how it felt at the beginning but know it wasn’t until after 20 weeks I felt anything at all with her.

NatGee · 17/03/2023 17:02

@allgoodthings84 oh I am glad symptoms have stopped for you. My sister felt sick throughout her pregnancy with both her children. I hope she falls in the minority cos I've had a whiff of nausea and it's really not nice. Its like a hangover without the alcohol
I hope your 20 week scan goes well, Its on the same day as my booking appointment :)

@HoneyPea how are you getting on? Has the bleeding stopped xx

NatGee · 17/03/2023 16:59

@NSx hello! you probably did update but perhaps it was a different thread? Oh I am very glad to hear it all went well, congratulations, you were able to see their arms too how precious :) very exciting times, I look forward to hearing how it all progresses

Oh, Id really like to do NIPT but I am suspecting you have to do it privately? Which is fine with me if that is the case, just wish the NHS would just offer it straight away its so much less invasive

Going well thanks, 6 weeks tomorrow and the nausea and fatigue are beginning to rear their ugly head. apart from that no other symptoms.
My booking appointment and 12 week scan have all been booked and I am also interviewing doulas at the moment. Not many cover my area so a bit tricky to even have a pool to interview from.

How are you feeling, generally?

NSx · 16/03/2023 23:16

@NatGee hi 🤍 sorry I thought I came on here & updated.
scan went absolutely fine, measured at 8+1 😁 …they did an abdominal scan and I could see the babies heartbeat, yolk sack and little arm/leg buds
booked for my nipt in 2 weeks 🤞✨

how are u getting on?
